We tell them what needs to be done and they complete the work. They are efficient with their time. They charge by the hour and consolidate jobs. They clean up all the mess. They are very tidy. They follow up on their work very well.

We thought the price was a little high considering the work he had done. The work is charged on a hourly basis. The work done was completed in timely manner. He was a conscientious worker. When we needed him to come back and fix something he missed he came right away. We have no complaints, but at the time we thought price was little high.

There policy is no estimate. The work took twice as long anticipated and therefore twice as expensive.

They did a very good & efficient job! One thing is that they can get expensive because they bill on the amount of time, but he worked very diligently. He was very devoted to his work.

I called Handyman Matters as I needed outside work done which involved climbing on to the roof. I was told there was a $40.00 first time traveling fee plus $80.00 an hour. Jorge came and worked quickly and did what he could the first day. The job involving the fascia and soffit required 2 people. Jorge picked up the soffit pieces that day and returned the next day to complete the work with the help of the second person. I had some left over fascia boards which Jorge used carefully so that he could do the job using the materials on hand. Jorge could not get the plastic soffit materials, but got metal. This turned out to be great as the squirrels were eating the plastic pieces. We ordered the wood for the deck, which was an unusual size, and scheduled the work for the following week. There was a problem with the power washer and Jorge got the small deck cleaned, but could not do the planter box or stairs. The wood came in the following week and was installed. It rained that week and work was delayed a couple of weeks and completed. The arrangements were made that I would pay at the end of each work day for the work done that day. We liked the friendliness of the handyman, Mel. He worked very hard and did a good job. He seemed skilled in the area of carpentry. We only knew of 1 step that was broken, but he identified that there were several that needed to be repaired.

I should have been told that the company supplied ONLY labor and tools and that ALL materials for the job were to be supplied by me. If I'd known that, I would have been prepared. Instead, they expected me to pay $80/hr while he went shopping for the materials! Aside from that, they wanted me to pay $80 for the call (which I had expected) PLUS $40 for a service charge, which was not indicated when I spoke to the office. Tom came out less than 24 hours after my initial call, and finished the job in 5 hours. The work was professionally done, with a polite, friendly attitude. We were given a senior discount on the price, although we didn't know one was available and thus had not asked for it..

The whole experience with was Steve excellent. He was very professional and thorough. When I called to inquire about other work the representative helped me fix it over the phone free of charge. I would recommend them to anyone. I have used many handyman services over the years and this was one of the best.

The results of the projects have varied based on which craftsmen came out to do the work. They told me they have since gotten rid of the craftsman who was slow and charging too much. I still think the service is a little too expensive.

Called and the office manager answered after discussing what looked to be a possible positive experience after I requested to have an estimate done. I fully explained that I would pay $40 for a quality estimate. Her narrow mindedness kept saying "it is our company s policy to charge a $40 show up fee and a mandatory 1 hour fee of $80." Keep in mind folks that it is MANDATORY. I informed her that I couldn t have the work done then; it would be at a later time. She said with side blinders on, "we have to charge $40 show up fee and 1 hour fee of $80." Not only are you taking advantage of people by forcing them to use their services, but for having the narrowest vision out of all contractors I have dealt with. You definitely receive an A for first class in being so short sighted!
