They responded very quickly to my initial inquiries. They set up a date exactly to my convenience. They showed up on time, worked efficiently ( always nice for hourly rates!) and overall did a great job!

They company was very responsive and came out to assess the jobs the day after calling. I received an estimate on the spot and they scheduled the work for within the week. That was a huge improvement over the other 2 or 3 companies I contacted. They either never called back or looked at the work and never gave me an estimate. Two men came to complete the work, and they were on time and very professional. Whenever they ran into issues that would add to the cost of the repairs, they let me know and gave me the options available. It ended up costing a bit more than the estimate, but the work was thorough, well done and prompt.

Set up appointment with Sharon who was friendly and professional. She explained their pricing policy and told us we had the option to shop for the materials ourselves (to avoid a 30% markup). Our craftsman was Michael. He was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. My husband and I explained what we wanted and Michael went to work on replacing the hinges (we chose to buy the hinges ourselves but have Handyman Matters procure the materials for the landing to take advantage of the included one-year materials warranty). After replacing the hinges, Michael wrote up a detailed estimate for the landing which we agreed to. As Michael estimated the landing would take 4-5 hours to complete, we scheduled the job for the following week. Michael arrived promptly with the materials and his tools, and completed the job including meticulously working around the slope of the slab in the garage (which we weren't even aware of). In short, the landing turned out even better than we had envisioned.

My experience with Handyman Matters was very uneven. My initial contact with the office was very pleasant, and the receptionist was polite and seemed knowledgeable about what I needed. She suggested that I obtain some drywall repair kits from a store like Lowes and some paint, and the handyman would be able to do the work. I did so and had all the materials on the day the work was supposed to be done. The handyman arrived on time and was also quite courteous and professional in demeanor. He saw my drywall repair kits and suggested that I return them to the store, as what he had would be more effective and cheaper for me in the long run. He also said that the receptionist I spoke to was incorrect about the amount of time required to do the job, and that it actually took 24 hours for the drywall repair compound to dry before it could be sanded and painted. We agreed that he would patch, and I would sand and paint the next day. He finished quickly and left - it looked ok while it was still wet. Unfortunately, as it dried, it became obvious the job was done poorly. One hole had the screen used to put the patching compound on still visible through the compond. Other surfaces were rippled beyond what sanding could fix. In the end, I decided to have the whole stairwell and other parts of my house repainted. All contractors who came to estimate my paint job commented on the poor repair job. The company I hired redid the repairs and you cannot tell the walls were ever damaged. While everyone I spoke with at this company was professional, responsive and pleasant to talk to, in the end the quality of the work was lacking.

Don arrived on time, worked steadily, and completed all tasks to my satisfaction in a timely manner. I even got a senior citizen discount! I didn't see the need for the additional $40 service charge in addition to the hourly rate, so that's why I lowered the price rating.

The handyman - Chuck - was on time, explained what he was doing and why, and completed the job in a very reasonable time frame. We had in our remodeling contract (with a different company) that they were to re-install the kitchen appliances, but Chuck offered come back if there were any problems or if we needed any help. That was very generous on his part. We have used this company in the past and have always been satisfied - so we will do so in the future also. Note: This company charges $80 per hour with a $40 service charge and offers a 10% Military Discount also.

He was very forthcoming about what he was doing and it is an hourly charge for the handyman. He asked me about other jobs he could do to fill out the rest of the house. He did the work quickly. They always come in right on time and explain as they do it.

It was great. The guy was really good. All of the employees for this company can do a lot of different thing's.

Good experience. Rich called the day before to confirm, and arrived on time the next morning. After going over the job, he recommended using auto body filler to repair the wood, as it was part of a factory-built (1) piece unit. This worked well and looks just fine after painting. He had to leave to pick up a hammer drill, which he didn't have on his truck, but was gone just 30 minutes (and of course didn't charge for this time). Relocated the railing, sealed off the old anchor holes in the concrete. I supplied anchors and lag screws, although they will supply materials, but you would pay their time for shopping. And I just happened to have some Bondo available from another project! Rich supplied minor materials (caulk, sealant, small screws) at no additional charge. Cleaned up well after completion.

They did an excellent job. They are very professional and efficient.

They started quickly. They were professional. They managed to do the work fairly quickly. I would recommend them. They are trustworthy and they give you a decent estimate on the work. I would use the again in the future if I needed to.

I requested a written estimate to give my insurance company and they never got back to me. He charged me $120 for five minutes and left. He never got me the paperwork and he never contacted me again. The secretary did contact me to see when they could start the work and I advised her that he never got back to me. They did come right out originally but I think he thought that he had the job. I think he was looking to make a buck.

The handman they sent "Mike" was fired on the job after they sent someone else to finish the roof work. Caulking in shower was shoddily done, they didn't finish the job in my bedroom, and I later noticed that he forgot to do the bottom weatherstripping (that was moldy). Someone else came to do the roof repair. That guys gave us some BS answer about what was wrong and told me that they don't "warranty" roof reparis, and guess what, it still leaked. I ended up having a roofing guy come this year that fixed it for only 400 dollars. Overall, a very bad experience with this company.

The project was perfect and came in under the bid. The workers were very efficient and prepared to complete the job from start to finish. I was provided with a detailed work order/bill with time of start and finish. Everything with this company is up front and their are no surprises. I will continue to use this company for various house repairs. So far they have removed/replaced shutters, put up chair railing, installed a new garage door, and installed a rather difficult lamp post. All the work was professional and of the highest quality. My only negative thought seems to be that there is a $40 service charge for each visit. I would like to see that charge maybe for a min of an hour work. When you have them come out for 2 or more hours and have had them come out several times, the service charge seems a little excessive and you don't really know what it is used for. Really this is the only thing that I question with this company. I will continue to use them for ALL of my house repairs.

Called Handymen and they sent out someone who was able to not only repair the drawer but make it fully functional. They appeared when they said they were and worked outside on the patio and they cleaned up after they completed the project. They also caulked the drawer making it nice and tight.

This company is very helpful and responsive and most timely. The work was conducted quickly and in a professional manner.

I think they finally got it fixed after a couple of tries so I?m a little undecided about this company.

I got exactly what I was hoping for. I am new homeowner and had a long list to to-do items from the house inspection. I needed someone to not only do, but also help me filter out what was really essential and explain some basic house things to me. Mark was phenomenal. He was helpful and patient and explained everything. Additionally, he pointed out things I could do myself to save his time/fees and didn't try to upsell me like many home service contractors try to do. He called others when he was stuck on a question of mine - I'd rather someone give me the right answer then guess. He was experienced and really knew his stuff.

We were looking at putting insulation in my attic. I didn't think he was that thorough so I went with someone else. I felt a little apprehensive because he didn't have on a company uniform. He was supposed to give me a quote on weatherization and I just didn't feel like he was thorough enough to give me an accurate estimate. They did some siding work for me for me in on a separate occasion. They did a great job that time. I would use them again with the caveat of which serviceman they sent out.

The whole operation is not good. They send different service people each time. They do not give free quotes and there is a trip charge. The quality of the tradesman ranges from competent to marginally competent. It is very expensive for this service. The office staff has been cooperative. I was able to renegotiate with them, but I would rather have quality work at a good price. After dealing with this company; I joined Angie's List.

They send the right guy for the job. Their prices are reasonable and they finish the work quickly.

We tell them what needs to be done and they complete the work. They are efficient with their time. They charge by the hour and consolidate jobs. They clean up all the mess. They are very tidy. They follow up on their work very well.
