Never got the estimate I paid 99 dollars for.
Now its 3 weeks since we tried to get a simple kitchen counter there. The were nice. They said they had no idea why the people they subcontract to for their Kitchen work were totally unresponsive after 3 weeks. The also, they kindly returned the 99 dollars. They said they were mystified, aw-struck and confused as to why their contractor was so ridiculously bad doing his job.
More of the Story:
Ten days or so after we paid the 99 dollars we still had heard nothing. I was able to get the number of the contractor from a person in that dept. I called about three times, and finally, on bended knees, they agreed to come out, at the end of the month!  I begged and begged and then finally they caved in and sent someone to perform this 99 dollar estimate. He came, He said the estimate would be done in a few days. Ten more days later, and the Home Depot manager who could not seem to get them to cooperate called and said he was going to refund our money. We lost a month at Home Depot. I would suggest you look anywhere else. At least until they change contractors. Which I assume will be rather soon.
There are plenty of good places to go for kitchen work, choose anyplace else, and you will be happier, I can assure you of that.

I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher. I had seen it on sale in a hhgregg ad and Home Depot was $10 less. The installation was easy. The company that does Home Depot installations was very professional. They were polite and answered any questions I asked.

I have also bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer about a year ago and had the same experience. The price was lower then others advertised and the insulation went as above.

Home Depot caries several types of carpet they buy in bulk in a limited number of colors and offers a big discount on those. I compared the weight and twist to other carpets they carry (same manufacturer) and other carpet dealers and the cost was substantially lower. Most of the carpet sales crew knew about the carpets and answered lots of questions. A crew came and measured the odd shaped living and den area, computed the square footage and drew up a diagram of how the carpet was to be installed including showing the seams. 'Designers' came up with little waste. The carpet was available in a couple of days and the sub-contractors that installed the carpet showed up on time a couple of days later. They did a nice job of installation, carefully moving furniture, removing the old carpet without creating a lot of dust, moving the furniture back and cleaning up after themselves and answering my many questions. They cut part of the leftovers into a nice rectangular piece for me. The install sub-contractor contacts their manager immediately after the job is complete so you can report on their job (or complain I suppose) . Nice touch. Overall I was very happy with the purchase and the install job.

Went to the store needing carpet and were told that we could have everything done within a week. Were trying to get the carpet installed before 2 weeks time so that we would have it for a 60+ person party we were having. Store was busy but the salespeople were very helpful. Set up an appointment for our house to be measured for the carpet and that's when it went south. Guy called the wrong number and showed up an hour late. Was only there for maybe 5 minutes measuring and told us he would have an estimate either called into our house or emailed by the next day. It has been close to 2 weeks and no response. I've called the store and am always told that someone will call me back yet no one ever does. Asked to speak with a manager and was told no one is available. Paid $35 that was supposed to go toward our purchase so that a stranger could come out and basically case our home. Very disappointed and feel completely taken advantage of and violated. Will never go to Home Depot ever again for anything that we need carpet related or not.

We went to the Aspen Hill store to order a bathroom vanity. We spent about an hour with the sales staff while they seemingly went over all kinds of details and plans, and they made a big deal out of how their fabulous system would ensure that we would have a great experience with Home Depot. For starters, they told us the installers would contact us within "a couple of days" to arrange for installation. After a week, no call, so I called them and was told "we don't do that type of installation work". After several phone calls and more effort, finally we were able to arrange installation. The vanity was delivered (I took time off from work), and the installer showed up (I took more time off from work). The installer said "didn't anyone from Home Depot do a measurement for this installation"? When I answered no, he said "the vanity won't fit". I called Home Depot and had them come and get the vanity. When I heard back from customer service, we decided they'd try one more time. I was told to come in to the store to meet with the "professional bathroom designer" who told us we had to have a more expensive, "special made" vanity. We ordered that one, took more time off from work, and when that vanity arrived, it was broken, and....it didn't fit either. Four days off from work, THREE months of customer service, managers, expediters and bathroom designers working on this...and it was a disaster. Waste of time and effort. I won't go there for any reason, won't even buy light bulbs from them. They had no desire to make it right, they wanted to give me my money back, and get me out of their hair, because that was easy for them. By the way, before the installer realized the vanity wouldn't fit and was broken, he ripped out our old vanity, so now we have a damaged vanity...we're actually worse off than we were when we first walked into Home Depot.

I won't step in The Home Depot again. They did nothing for me, recommended the wrong product, and the person on the floor had not clue in the world as to what they were selling. The person was in the wrong department because that's where they put him. He had no knowledge of that industry. They put them where they needed him and not where his expertise was. I walked out of The Home Depot.

They tend to have just about everything. Their prices are reasonable. They are pretty well run and operated. Usually I am able to find someone there to answer if I have any questions but sometimes it's a little difficult. At times I have had appointments with them and they have been pretty good.

It's a good location they have flowering plants along with the hardware and lumber that they carry. It is good for the gardener. I would go there again in the future.

The system is working great! We bought the high efficiency model and it is quiet. Sometimes the only way I can tell it is running is when I see wists of steam running out of the exhaust--our old system was much louder. This is a 95% energy efficient type of model. We bought it during 2007 when heating prices were starting to go up and it helped to save us a lot of money on our heating bills.

This didn't go so great. We went to the store and told them all the doors we needed and picked them out. We needed them to install the doors. It took three months after our order to schedule the installation. We were inquiring frequently and they weren't very responsive. They didn't know what was going on or where the doors were. When the front door came in the measurements had been taken wrong and so they had to order a new front door. They said it would take another thirty days. We picked out a lock assembly to have installed on the front door and asked them (Home Depot) if they could put it on our door. However, when the contractor showed up he said he couldn't do it. We had to go out and buy a different lock on our own and install that ourselves. The front door has been the only problem, the sliding door works fine.

In the first week of December I sat w/ the HD rep at the store. He took all my info, priced out the door, and said that somebody would come by within 10 days. The rep was very helpful but there was no further contact by HD. I'm currently working on the follow up.

Multiple appointments for installation due to doors not arriving on time. Forgot to take old screen door until multiple calls were made. Screen for storm door was not there. Installer said 1 week. When we called, got run-around. Finally got through to right people and new screen was never ordered. Will be 2 months past due for screen. Did get a slight discount for trouble. Installation was good except for caulk messes.

HOME DEPOT WORKED PROMPTLY AND WERE ABLE TO CHANGE THE LOCK WITHIN AN HOUR. IT TOOK ABOUT A WEEK FOR THEM TO GET TO OUR HOUSE, LIKELY DUE TO THEIR POPULARITY. BESIDES THE TIME IT TOOK FOR THEM TO RESPOND, EVERYTHING ELSE WAS DONE WELL.

HOME DEPOT RESPONDED EFFICIENTLY AND WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL IN HANDLING THE PAINT JOB. IT TOOK A FEW HOURS TO DO WHICH SUPRISED ME, SINCE PAINTING USUALLY TAKES A WHILE. BUT, TO MY SUPRISE, THEY DID A GOOD JOB HANDLING THE PAINT AND WORKED DILIGENTLY THE ENTIRE TEAM.

THIS WAS A HARD JOB BECAUSE EVERY TOILET IS DESIGNED IN A DIFFERENT WAY. WE WERE NOT ABLE TO TELL THEM WHAT SPECIFIC PARTS WERE NEEDED SO THEY HAD TO COME OUT TWICE. THE JOB TOOK SEVERAL HOURS ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE WAS NOT MUCH ROOM TO OPERATE. THE TOILET WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE WALL (ON THE SIDE). ONCE AGAIN, HOME DEPOT WORKED PROMPTLY ENOUGH TO GET THE JOB DONE WITHIN THE WEEKEND.

HOME DEPOT WAS ABLE TO EFFICIENTLY MOW OUR LAWN WITHOUT MANY PROBLEMS. WE WERE CONTENT WITH PAYING $48 BECAUSE THE WORK WAS TIME CONSUMING AND MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR US TO DO ON OUR OWN.

THIS WAS AN INSIGNIFICANT PROBLEM SINCE IT WAS MANAGEABLE TO LIVE WITH FOR A WHILE SO IT WAS A WEEK BEFORE THEY CAME OUT. WHEN THEY DID COME OVER THEY WERE ABLE TO INSPECT THE SYSTEM WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND FOUND A LEAF IN THE DUCT THAT MAY HAVE BEEN OBSTRUCTING SOME OF THE VENTILATION IN OUR UPSTAIRS. THERE WAS ALSO A LOT OF DUST AND WE ENDED UP REPLACING THEM ANOTHER TIME ( WE DID THIS ON OUR OWN). HOME DEPOT WAS EFFICIENT AND DID US ANOTHER FAVOR.

THE INSTALLER ARRIVED ON SCHEDULE. HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. THE INSTALLATION WAS COMPLETED UNDER THE ALLOTTED TIME ESTIMATE. THE JOB AREA WAS CLEANED UP, AND THE FLOOR LOOKS FANTASTIC!

I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF WORK DONE BY THIS COMPANY. I THINK THAT THEY USED CONTRACTORS; THE CARPET CURLED AT THE EDGES AND DID NOT STAY DOWN REAL WELL.

THE COMPANY AND THE PRICE IS GOOD. THE EMPLOYEE THEY SENT OUT WAS PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. I CAN'T REMEMBER THE PRICE. BUT I THINK THAT IT WAS REASONABLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT TO PEOPLE WHO DO NOT WANT TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY.
