Beautifully. He was clear in what he was going to do to fix the problems. He called beforehand as promised and arrived a bit earlier than promised.

Would highly recommend. Prices aren't the cheapest but he was thorough and tried to make it as economical as he could for me. Punctual and called beforehand.

I was very satisfied with Kensington Lock and Security Company. Tom Lucas responded promptly and showed up on time. He was very polite and a conscientious technician. I felt comfortable having him in our home.

Tom Lucas at Kensington-Wheaton Lock & Security did a great job with our repair. We have a beautiful but old lock on double-doors that had come loose and some parts broke over time. He custom-engineered a repair that allows us keep a very attractive piece while maintaining security. He was on-time, good at communicating about schedule and options, and very personable. We'll definitely use him again.

Everything went great. The owner came out on time as promised and did all work discussed over the phone. The quality of work was exceptional and the cost was reasonable. The work took awhile but there was extensive work to do on all 5 entry doors. Very thorough and left the job site clean. Would definitely use this company again if I need a locksmith.

We installed a new front door to our home on Monday and needed to rekey the new lock on the door. We Found Mr. Lucas (Tom) through Angie's List. I bought the deal yesterday and within 1 hr., I received an email from Mr. Lucas of Kensington-Wheaton Lock and Security. We set up an appointment for 1 pm today, Mr. Lucas (a veteran, I might add) confirmed the appointment via email last night and called me around 12 to let me know he would be there at the scheduled 1 pm appointment. He was professional and personable. He completed the job timely and professionally. I has questions about the new door and security, he offered suggestions for me. He did NOT try to UPSELL his services. He astually gave me suggestions onm what I could do to secure the side light windows. I will definately use him for all future lock and security needs. We moved into a new house and wanted to rekey the locks. Tom showed up on time and is one of the most wonderful gentleman I have met! He was very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. He not only provided locksmith service, but also gave advice on home security, We learned a lot and will definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a good locksmith!

Mr. Lucas came out to inspect a couple of locks that were not working properly. I really liked that he was very open and fair in what he was doing. I was especially happy to see that he didn't try to up-charge me to buy new replacement equipment and instead he recommended some basic repairs to extend the service life of my locks. I felt very comfortable that he knew what he was doing and in the end I think that he did the service at a very fair price. I would definitely consider using this company again for future locksmith needs.

This was my second time using this provider and service was excellent just like the first time. Tom confirmed the appointment in advance, showed up right on time with everything needed to do the job, and even noticed and fixed some preexisting damage during the job. He explained everything he did, and now my lock is looking good and working as expected, and I feel safer with the deadbolt as opposed to just the doorknob lock that was there previously. Tom is completely professional and also good company, and although I don't anticipate any problems with my locks, I would be happy to have him out again should the need arise.

Tom (the company president) was in contact with me from the time I requested service, confirming with me what I needed and explaining what it would entail. He double-checked everything before coming, explaining all his relevant pricing, and caught an error I had made in my order. He called beforehand and arrived right on time, explained to me everything he was doing and what my options were, had the right spare parts with him to handle some things I hadn't fully thought through (different locks not being compatible to be rekeyed to each other), and worked diligently the entire 6 hours he was there, which was longer than we had anticipated due to me failing to mention some of the things I had needed. He was also great company, and was able to point out some interesting findings as he worked, and also noted some additional things relating to the security of my house even though they were outside the scope of what he does (but he had referrals and recommendations). I am very happy with the service I received, and will have him back to do a few things we couldn't get to the first time around.

Tom Lucas is the owner/President of Kensington-Wheaton Lock & Security, Inc. Tom is a very down to earth and honest man. He wore his Viet Nam Marine Corp jacket/cap and insignia and he is a true American patriot. I am so glad I chose Tom's company as it was a small opportunity to help support a proud American veteran who gave much and received little in return having been spit on when he passed through the airport. I highly recommend Tom and Kensington-Wheaton Lock & Security, Inc. Tom is a master locksmith who started his business several decades ago. Although Tom is at an age when he could be retired, he choses to keep working because he loves helping others. I learned in his spare time he devotes much of it to helping the elderly in their declining years.

The project went very well, Tom Lucas, the owner arrived early and finished the job in an hour. He was quick, efficient, very professional and very responsive to my questions. He did an excellent job and I would highly recommend his services to anyone who needs a top-notched professional. His service fee I thought was a little on the high-side but with the level of professionalism he provides, it is worth the price.

Two years ago when the front door latch broke, the locksmith at that time told us it would require a brand new fixture at a cost of $400-500 dollars. We opted for a patch fix that worked but created alignment problems with the door. We finally decided it needed to be fixed. Initially, Tom quickly responded to my first call and efficiently diagnosed our problem after I sent him some pictures. The day/time we scheduled for the work was during a torrential downpour but he made it out anyway. When he saw the condition of the lock, he immediately knew what to do and fixed the problem. Tom was very efficient and professional. He also explained why the previous locksmith's assessment was incorrect and was able to fix the problem at a very reasonable price. We are very pleased with the work and will call him for all lock and key issues in the future!!

Tom contacted me quickly to set up an appt. within 2 days (my door would lock). Upon inspection of the lock, showed me where it was broken and what would need to be done. Since he did not distribute this brand, he could not order the replacement part. He did relock the door for me. (I then found a replacement part distributor in Gaithersburg, and replaced the broken interior plate myself with information Tom and the distributor provided.) While Tom was at my home, I had him fix a bathroom door lock that would not lock. He repaired it quickly and correctly. Tom was pleasant and professional, and I would use him again when the need arose.

On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, I contacted three locksmiths from the top-rated locksmiths, in my area, on Angies list. One company would not provide pricing on the phone - they needed to see the job first. Another did provide pricing, but could not come out to do the work in the time frame I needed it done. My third call was to Kensington-Wheaton Lock & Security Inc. I described the work to the owner, Tom. He quoted me the price with his Angies list discount and said he could come out the next day, Wednesday, to do the work. His price met my requirements. I agreed with his price and we set at time of 1:00 pm Wednesday to do the work. The next day, Wednesday, Tom called me at approximately 12:15 pm and said he was approximately 1/2 hour away and asked if I was ok with that schedule. I was. He arrived about 1/2 hour later. We discussed the work. He looked at each door. That was when I found out that I had made a mistake and I had mis-counted the number of locks I needed re-keyed. I needed 5 locks re-keyed, not just 3 as I had told him on the phone. He said, no problem, he would keep the cost per lock the same and re-key 5 locks rather than 3. I was ok with that, so we agreed and Tom proceeded to do the work. He brought in his tools and went to work. Before I knew it, he was finished - approximately one hour after he had started. I checked the work - everything worked exactly I wanted and exactly as we had agreed. The invoice he presented me was as we agreed. I was very pleased with the work. I would certainly use Kensington-Wheaton Lock & Security Inc in the future.

Mr. T Lucas did an outstanding job of troubleshooting the problem and explaining why the lock was not functioning properly. He showed me specifically the poor craftsmanship of the locksmith who initially installed the lock. He was in complete control of the situation, and did an excellent job in every way. Additionally, he replaced the lock with a higher quality name-brand one that was superior to the old lock. I received four new keys with the lock, which was very handy.
