EXCELLENT job trimming the bushes. The back area was cleared better than expected. We have hired several companies to do the same work and never had such good work. My only complaint is that they were slow in getting with me. Probably because they are in demand.

Workers were professional and thorough. Work included trimming and shaping shrubbery and small trees, mulching, weeding and weed control, edging, clean-up and removing debris. I was very satisfied with the results.

It went great. We had to wait for the weather to clear up, but when we got a nice window of weather the crew was there when they said they would be and finished earlier than I expected! They did a great job. The regrading of the yard has made it much easier to care for the lawn, the huge gaps between the pool and yard have been filled in and leveled out so that I don't get ponding of water on the pool deck and rain drains away from the pool now. The sod has taken well and is growing in nicely. The yard looks like a million bucks!

Baumann's Lawn & Landscape was very well-priced. They're very reliable. They knew what they were doing.

It was not that there was anything wrong with them, we were just more comfortable with somebody else.

It didn't go too well, so we're not hiring them this year. We had communication problems. They don't return calls within a reasonable amount of time and we left multiple messages before getting responses. They didn't show up when they say they would. There were also billing issues where they kept billing us for the wrong number of hours, so I would have to call them. Their pricing is a bit on the high side. I just never knew when they would come and work on my yard. And when they did work on my yard, they don't leave any notes on what they did or how many hours they worked. Maybe they provide better services and delivery to customers with annual contracts.

Baumann was a switch from a company used for 4 previous years. Mr. Baumann responded, personally to my call; replied with a satisfactory price and excellent scope exactly when he said he would (3 days later); visually inspected the lawn and gave suggestions; and performed exactly as he said he would with excellent work.

They are great to deal with . Rick is a real nice guy. I would highly recommend them.

They were wonderful! They actually created a landscape area forming on a small spots on a right side of our yard, and they completely relayed our walk because it didn't compromise by a water linking our neighbors. Our neighbor ended up with a leak. They planted some plants forming that I had already purchased, and did a great job, very professional, very cleaned up beautifully afterwards, and ended up nicely.

They come when they say they will and they do a good job!

We were really happy with this spring clean-up. Not only did they do a great job trimming and shaping the shrubs and weeding the flower beds, they also raked up the old mulch before applying fresh mulch. I've never had a yard service do that before. Everything was edged and the yard looks terrific. We've paid for several different yard services before and they all came up short in one area or another. Baumann's has done an excellent job of our lawn and garden - small but with alot of shrubs and bushes - for a very reasonable price. We also hired them for year-around maintenance.

They never called me back which just reflects poorly on their company. I called twice and emailed the main contact in their profile. I had a very major project and based on their reviews was really looking forward to using this company. Sadly, I will not. They should call potential customers back.

I selected Baumann to do a spring clean up of the front and backyard of my townhouse due to the good ratings and competitive rates. I was told that work would begin 2 weeks after my deposit was received. When I hadn't received any feedback, 3 weeks after I mailed my deposit, I e-mailed the company to see if my deposit had been received. I was told that a crew would be coming out to the house the following day. The crew came out that following day. When I returned home, I noticed that all the work that we discussed had been performed excellently. Months later I received an e-mail saying that I still owed a balance even though I sent a check for the remainder of the balance shortly after work had been performed. I responded to the e-mail saying that I had paid the balance, and I was told that the issue would be looked into. I didn't receive a follow-up e-mail. Although, I had a few issues with communication, I am willing to overlook the issues due to the quality of work and the competitive rates.

I was under the impression that this company was willing to come out to my house to give us a free estimate for clearing the ivy out of our backyard and taking down some small saplings and two bushes - a backbreaking but pretty straightforward job. During the estimate, the gentleman didn't seem to be listening to why we wanted the work done, etc. and instead suggested a couple of other (much more expensive) alternatives that were not what we wanted. Before he left, he said he could not give an estimate based on our meeting, but that I would have to pay $200 to have a draft drawing done before he could give an estimate. If I were having any kind of more sophisticated job done (plantings, walls, paving/path, etc.) this would seem quite reasonable (if indicated ahead of time) - but I just wanted someone to yank up the ivy!! Then, the company contacted me by email and said that I would actually need to pay $300 to get a plan done before they gave me an estimate. Needless to say I passed on the offer. None of the other contractors I required indicated that they could not give me an estimate without a sketch for the type of work requested. And on top of all of this I took off two hours of work to get the estimate I never got. I saw other landscaping ads which expressly stated that all work required a paid sketch no matter what - that is truth in advertising and seems fair as long as the consumer knows this ahead of time.

They did a phenomenal job that has garnered many neighborhood compliments. Rick, the owner, was extremely helpful during the estimate phase and during installation. His team, in particular, the team lead, Tony, was very detail oriented, and in fact, a perfectionist who really cares about his craft. I paid more than I would have with other companies but I am certain I got a much higher quality result. I plan to use Baumann's for some additional projects in the spring.

I called one evening and left a message requesting an estimate on lawn work. The next morning I got a call back from Mr. Baumann, who said he was in my neighborhood and was right near my home. He came by, we discussed what I wanted done (including use of a particular fertilizer), and within 20 minutes he gave me the cost. Because he had a crew working nearby, he said he could do the work that same day. The crew arrived about an hour-and-a-half later and efficiently got the work completed with no problems, including the application of the requested type of fertilizer which was not the brand they normally used. I was entirely pleased with the entire experience, from the prompt reply to my initial inquiry to the finished work. I plan to use Baumann's lawn services again in the spring.

Rick was very responsive to the estimate request and his guys were prompt and professional. Rick sent his guys early to do removal, then back a few days later to do the sod install. New lawns look great. Rick sent his guys back promptly to do a spot fix on the only place I saw any issue (very minor seam issue). Rick followed back up with me to give me a maintenance plan for the new lawn (watering schedule, etc). Great job overall. Price was right compared to a few other bids I got. Would definitely use Baumann's again and recommend to others.

Baumann's has serviced our yard for maintenance and landscaping services for the past 17 years. First at our home in Silver Spring, MD and now in Cabin John, MD. It is very obvious from looking at our lawn, that Baumanns' has that magic touch to transform a lawn and keep it in very pristine condition with very thick grass, no weeds or clover, and crisp edges at the flower beds - just beautiful. The Baumann crews are professional and polite. One year, in order to save money, we switched to a competitor and Oh my, what a mistake! In the end, the price difference was negligible, but our lawn suffered without Baumann's expert care. Rick and Matt make a great team - reliable, very friendly, and very talented! I would highly recommend their services.

Rick Baumann came to our house and walked the property with us, taking notes and photos and giving us his recommendations for what things to take out and what would thrive if it was pruned or cut back. He sent us a detailed estimate and a day-rate, telling us that if we found more things we wanted done, his guys would do their best to accommodate. On the day of the job, Rick arrived on time with his crew, (including all the equipment and a chipper truck), reviewed the gameplan with us and them and marked all of the trees and bushes to remove. Then he left his crew in charge of the job, but checked in with us during the day to make sure things were going well. His crew worked efficiently and HARD, and they all were very knowledgeable about the trees and plants they were working with. When they removed bushes and cut trees back, they ground out the stumps and cleaned out the debris beautifully. They removed years worth of accumulated leaves and junk, and even hauled away a section of the wood fence that was rotting. Over the course of the day, we added some things to the work list and the guys took care of them. They also made suggestions, like raising up a japanese maple that wasn't on the list. We also asked them to turn the soil in the newly-open spaces to we could plant flowers and rose bushes. When everything was cleared out, we discovered three hydrangea bushes and a rose bush we didn't even know existed! They relocated them to a better spot, so they can thrive. Now our yard looks like a park instead of a jungle! We would highly recommend Rick Baumann and his team -- and have passed his name on to several of our neighbors who commented on how great the property looks. Rick listened to our needs, made excellent recommendations, and exceeded our expectations.

Yard was in a bit of a shambles. Got a few options during the estimate and settled on something that would fit within my budget. Work started a week later. Front hedges and its bed were cleaned up and mulched. Trees were mulched and surround areas cleared or weeds. The difference is appearance is amazing. The main work was done in the back, were my fence line was cleaned up and a small and large mulched bed were created and several stumps were ground. Excellent work, will call him again in the future when there is more work to be done.
