 + -1 moreWhen the parts came in, they came back on Saturday, March 30 to fix the television. However, they found something wrong with one of the new parts and took the TV back to their shop to check it out more thoroughly. On Wednesday, April 3, the owner came out with the fully repaired unit,hung it back on the wall and hooked everything up. It now works perfectly. I appreciate their efficiency and responsiveness and will definitely use their services again. It isn't often you find such good providers!
Description of Work: My less than 2-year old Panasonic 50" TV just quit working and all I could get was the red power light blinking. It seems this is equal to the "blue screen of death" on a computer. I called A-1 and they came out on Saturday, March 23. The television had two malfunctioning boards, which they ordered from the manufacturer.

 + -1 moreWent wonderfully. I called on 3/11/2013 for someone to come install the lamp which I think I did incorrectly. Spoke to Wyatt on the phone , who is a super nice guy, and we got me on the scheduled first thing the next morning. Jeff & Jacob showed up on time, if not early. Jeff looked it over and of course it was a simple fix. I didn't have the door closed properly. As much as that little mistake cost me, I would absolutely call them again if ever needed

 + -1 moreI called because we had a black screen with just sound on our TV. They came out the next day to diagnose why we couldn't get a picture with our big screen TV . He quickly determined it was the bulb. He had to order it and came back out within a few days. The bulb was installed it worked.

They accommodated my schedule (within the hours of 9 - 6). They were within the time frame they said they would arrive. They quickly knew exactly what the problem was, they knew it was a Samsung recall issue and didn't even have me pay up front to cover the costs. They would just file the claim for the work done. Easy/Quick and Efficient.

Description of Work: We have a flat screen, 42! Samsung t.v. When we turned it on, there was a clicking noise and it either took a long time to come on or didn't come on at all. They came the day after we called for service and fixed it.

 + -1 moreOur three-year-old Panasonic Plasma stopped working one day, and I was referred to A1 by Panasonic's service number. I brought the TV to A1, and dropped it off with them. Jeff quickly diagnosed the problem, and ordered a replacement part. Panasonic was VERY slow to supply the part, but Jeff kept on them until they got him the part, and Jeff got us our TV back. It's really nice to see that in this age of disposable "stuff", someone out there still fixes things. We'll definitely be back to Jeff if our other TV ever has a problem.

 + -1 moreExcellent!!! I called at 3:00 and spoke with a very nice gentleman who told me up front that they charge for a service call, then give you an estimate. I said OK and he scheduled the call. They showed up this morning (less than 24 hours), identified the problem. I paid half the cost because there was a 1/2 off coupon. I am extremely pleased. It was a simple problem but since me or my hubby aren't technical in any way shape or form, it was worth every penny.
Description of Work: Cable cord was hooked up incorrectly.

 + -1 moreJeff, Fernando and Steve have all done work in my home and I have had absolutely nothing to be negative about A-1. They are on time every time. They have always given great explanations as to what needs to be done. They fix the problem and when they leave things are in working order. They clean up after they are finished and are just good honest people. I would not call anyone else!
Description of Work: This past time while they were here they mounted 3 TV's and fixed one. I have an active toddler and I didn't want him pulling over the televisions on himself.

He was very professional, experienced, and understood what was needed. I guess my only negative was that he wanted cash or check -- at the time, I had neither. The company's ad said it could take credit card, cash, or check. But it was not a problem at all because the bank was nearby. Been great since then.

Description of Work: There were two chips located in my television that had to be replaced because the picture had become distorted and the wording on the television appeared in triplicate. The lens and inside of the television were also cleaned.

 + -1 moreThis was a horrible experience, I do not recommend that anyone ever use their service. Please be ware of the terrible staff, and downright scary owner.
Description of Work: This was the WORST service call I have ever experienced. While, the technician was friendly when he came, he did come with another random person who really just stood around my condo, and made me feel unsafe because of his rude demeanor. The technician briefly looked at the tv and then INCORRECTLY diagnosed the problem. They had told me that I had to replace the motherboard of my TV, of course, falling into the typical female sterotype of not knowing much about electronics, I assumed they were correct. I was WRONG. I guess they were just trying to make some extra money off of me, it's terrible that people still operate their business this way!! Thankfully, I decided to go with geek squad, who came out and quickly repaired my TV, without having to replace anything! Also - the staff over the phone, Noreen, and the owner of the company, Jeff Weiner, were both SO rude and their attitudes were just so unprofessional. They would continually call me and harass me for payment. I did not feel that I should pay for a service, when they incorrectly diagnosed the problem, but just to get them to stop calling me and emailing me, I had to make the payment. They were threatening me, and told me they would send it over to a collections agency. I NEVER receieved a bill from A1 TV Service and Repair, but they still insisted that I pay. This is not how to professionally conduct a business.

 + -1 moreI got this company through Best Buy's Geek Squad -- a subcontractor. The service tech, a middle-aged man, was very efficient, competent, professional. He fixed the problem quickly. The only complaint I have is about the company, not about the technician. The company did not state the fee clearly, and there was some confusion at the end whether the $99 was just a service call charge with time added on top of that, or whether it was the flat fee. The offer made it sound like it was a flat fee. The tech had clearly run into this issue before, and honored my understanding that the $99 was the flat fee. Because the service was good, I would call A-1 again, but would make sure I was very clear about the pricing structure.
Description of Work: We could no get sound from the TV and could not figure out why.

 + -1 moreSubscribed to Angie's list and contacted A1 right away because of rating. They came the same day, earlier than expected, prompt, clean, courteous, professional service. I have never encountered any kind of customer service like this before and all on the same day. I was so sure I needed to purchase another TV. They saved me lots of money. I joined Angie's List found A1 rate "A" was treated with respect, even my carpet and was not ripped off like in the past. I am so thankful, excited and full safe.
Description of Work: Replaced vertical apparatus that was causing a very distracted picture. Also did unexpected maintenance that gives me an awesome picture.

 + -1 moreIt took months for him to find a good replacement part. He called me to keep me up to date with his search. He tried three different parts to see if they worked and had to wait in between for the parts to be shipped to him. I would have liked my television back sooner. However, he wanted to make sure that the part was quality and would extend the life of my television. Which is what I told him when he first picked up my television. Today, I am very happy with my television. I would recommend this service provider to anyone. Depending on the condition of your electronics, you may need to wait for it to be repaired, but when he is finished with it, it will be like brand new.
Description of Work: The quality of the service was excellent. My plasma television had blown a projection fuse, which would have cost $500 to repair. THe service provider found a refurbished part for my television and saved me a bundle.

 + -1 moreA-1 arrived on time per the appointment time. Jeff and his assistant were very courteous and explained what was being tested/replaced. They cleaned up after themselves and moved the TV's back to their normal viewing positions (..they were very heavy). The whole process to repair the 2 TVs took less than 1 1/2 hours. Jeff stay an extra 15 minutes after the sets were made operative to make sure everything was working fine and adjusted the video & audio of both sets. It was an excellent experience. A-1 arrived on time, were knowledgeable, fixed the problems on a timely manner. Jeff followed up with me later in the day (via telephone) just to make sure everything was working OK. I would use A-1 again and would highly recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: A-1fixed 2 TVs at my home. A large Pioneer Elite 51in rear projection TV with convergence problems. Jeff replaced the components (2 op amps) and re-aligned the TV in about 1 hour. Cost $300. A 32in Sony TV would not turn on. Jeff replaced the parts (several power capacitors) and had it working in about 30 min. Cost $100 Jeff's overall knowledge was superb. In less than 2 hours - I had 2 perfectly working TVs - saving me thousands of dollars to replace them. The total repair cost of $400 was very reasonable compared to replacing the TVs. I would highly recommend A-1 TV Repair to anyone.

 + -1 moreThe A1 technician checked the TV and confirmed that a new power supply was needed. Maybe he could have fixed it that week but the part had not arrived till Friday. He called us on Monday to replace the power supply. He arrived on time and fixed the TV.
