Serv Pro Of Rockville-Olney

We had a water backup in my kitchen and basement. ServoPro sent over three awesome guys, Leo, Felix, and Renan, to help out. They were super quick to respond and showed up on time. These guys were total pros and really caring during those tough hours. They worked efficiently and did a great job of cleaning up all the mess. I would definitely recommend this team to anyone dealing with water damage. One thing that really impressed me was how well Leo explained the whole process and made sure I understood everything before signing.

We used Serv Pro after having a pipe burst causing water damage to our mud and laundry room. I highly recommend them as they provided immediate response, kept me updated on the entire restoration process, and the crew was very professional.

Detailed all of my curtins, got rid of smoke, patched up some of the air conditioning vents. They did a wonderful job. Called me in Florida and let me know what exactly they had done and what the deductable was. Homeowners insurance covered.

We had an over flow and they came in and did a scope on the drain pipe. We got plumbing proposals but they all wanted to tear up the basement floor. In new houses they have a certain type of sub floor under the basement. When they put in the drainage pipe if the ground settles underneath the drainage pipe even two inches, sometimes the pipe can bow. So that is what happened, we had a bow and it dropped about three inches in one section of the pipe so it caused things to back up. So we had gallon of stuff that came out of a little drain in the basement and the liquid from the drain then went into a small part of the basement carpet. So Serv Pro came out and repaired the damage. Our humidifier empties into a surface drain in our utilities room. So it was a gallon of stuff that came out of that drain pipe which was the result of someone flushing something that they were not supposed to flush and it got caught in the bow of the drain. So a gallon of sewage came up out of the drain. Serv Pro put down a chemical that kills all the bacteria and they got rid of all the liquids. They cork around the utilities room so that if this happens again the liquid was trapped in the utilities room and go into the basement.

I called the office and they were very nice and responsive. I was very panicked because the water was rising outside of our walk down basement due to a huge storm in are our area. They were very calming and told me Michael, the team leader, would be there in 20 minutes with another sump pump. Michael and a crew of men came to our rescue in the nick of time. They placed the sump in the water that was quickly rising and we were able to drain the water away from the house and prevent it from entering our finished basement. They saved all of our belongings and they saved us a costly clean-up.  I am so grateful to the folks at ServPro.

On Wednesday, April 30, 2014, our area of Rockville, MD, was hit with almost 7 inches of rain. Unfortunately a lot of that water entered our finished basement. We were home and as I soon as I saw the water entering the space I called ServPro of Rockville/Olney. I was told we were the third call already that afternoon. The company arrived within the hour which provided huge emotional relief. They sent a crew to help us move the furniture we had not moved already and get all the carpet and padding out of the basement. They returned the next morning and packed up the entire basement. Michael, the crew head, gave me his cell phone and I really appreciated being able to get in touch with him. Fans, an air scrubber and a couple dehumidifiers were all placed in the basement and the baseboard was removed and thrown away. The company exposed any areas of walls that contained insulation in order to remove it. They also sprayed the walls with anti- bacterial spray to prevent mold. After the equipment was removed I thought one room still smelled musty so the company came back and put a few fans and a dehumidifier in the room until the order dissipated. After all the dry wall and baseboards were replaced, and walls painted, the company sent a crew to clean the basement and prepare for the carpet. Following carpet installation ServPro send another crew to help unpack all the boxes and completely restore the basement back to the way it was before the flood.
I realize ServPro was helping many other families in my situation. I appreciate that they did their best to make us feel like they were in this mess with us. Even when there were some bumps in the road they always called me back and let me know what was happening with our job. The general manager, George, spend 15 minutes on the phone with me confirming that some heavy furniture would be moved off the wet carpet. It had been a few days after the flood and I was concerned the pieces of furniture would be ruined. There was some minor damage to the bottom of the furniture pieces but we were able to get it repaired.
Thank you to all the crew members who come do the labor. They work really really hard. Although many of the employees do not speak English, Michael, the crew head, is a wonderful communicator. Andrea, who works in the office, came to the house during the clean up and the unpacking to help interpret and direct the crew. She was wonderful to work with and I really appreciate her help.
I hope I will not being seeing this company anytime soon but if Mother Nature decides to enter our basement again we will certainly be calling ServPro of Rockville/Olney to help us get through this difficult time. Thank you!

They are excellent. I would use them again.

I found the guy a good communicator. He explained how they put down the mold stuff for any possibility of mildew and how they sprayed. We came home and found that the water heater broke and we were not here and so it kept refilling and reemptying. My husband called the insurance person immediately and they said they will be giving him options and he said to give him a reputable company so he called Serv Pro and they were there within an hour. They obviously know the sooner they are in, the less work they end up doing.

I can't comment on the price because it went through our insurance.  They did a good job cleaning everything up.

They came in and did the work (moving furniture, ripping up carpet, etc) but our issue was a lack of professionalism. The crew said that they were going for lunch and would be back in half an hour. They ended up taking an hour and a half lunch. They were supposed to pick up their equipment (mainly fans) the following afternoon, but failed to show up. This is particularly irritating because I had to take off work to wait for their no-show (I get paid by the hour).

I sought estimates from three Servpro franchisees in the area. Servpro of Rockville provided the most professional quote and the lowest quote. A careful investigation of the problem was made and the cleaning process explained. The quote for the uninsured cleaning was a flat rate. One of the other Servpro companies first quoted a price based upon square footage and stated for the first time at the time of the estimate that there was a $125 charge for the square foot measurements. I refused to pay for the measurements and the company estimated the costs to be between $5,000 and $6,000. After the estimator left, I received a phone call in which he stated that the job would be done for a fixed fee of $3,800. The third company did a cursory inspection and stated that the the job would be charged at an hourly rate and would require 6 people working for two days at a cost of more than $5,000. The work performed by Servpro of Rockville was done by three women who are long-term employees of the company. They were extremely friendly and worked very hard. They were careful with all furnishings and finished the cleaning of everything but the carpets and furniture in two days. The carpets and furniture were cleaned in a half day the following day by two workmen. We were pleased by the work performed and quality of the workmen.

We had a pipe burst in the basement. ServPro was there as promised 2 days later even though it was a very busy weekend. They removed the pad and set up the fans to dry the carpet. Three days later they decided they could not save the carpet and removed everything. They also cut out the drywall and removed the baseboard everywhere there was damage. They worked well with the insurance company. Our deductible was $1000. I don't know how much they charged.

My insurance company called ServPro after I discovered water in my basement upon returning from a week away. A three person ServPro team came out the same day and cleared out the wet items from the basement, disinfected and left fans and a dehumidifier to clear up the smell and the moisture. They were courteous, efficient, and very effective. I would call them again in a crisis.

THE GAL GAVE US A REAL NICE PRICE AND SAID THAT WE COULD CANCEL THE CONTRACT IF WE DIDN'T LIKE THE SERVICE. THEY DID A REAL FINE JOB AND THE PLACE CLEANED UP REAL WELL.
