Excellent service and customer care. Nothing but praise. It's difficult finding a reliable auto shop and this place is it.

Always hard to tell if you're getting a fair price but we feel that it was fair. Everyone was nice. The estimate was provided swiftly, the repairs were done within a few days.

First of all, they were hard to find. They are tucked behind some retail operations along Nebel Street in Rockville. I eventually found them, but I wish they had mentioned their out-of-sight location when I called them to make sure I could get services from them that day. Secondly, I was displeased with my costs. As mentioned above, I invested $17.00 in the Angies List coupon. Soon after I arrived with my Angies List coupon, I overheard one service rep saying to another that I, the bearer of the coupon, should not be paying anything at the conclusion of the service. Yet, when I checked out, they charged me $12.93 because of the "unusual" oil filter for my car and sales taxes. So, I conclude that the service cost me $29.93, a bit more than other oil changes and lubes I've paid for at other service stations. And thirdly, they showed me a supposed sample of my automatic transmission fluid and claimed it was certainly due for replacement. Frankly, I was dubious, since my car is well less than three years old and has about 28,000 miles. At my request, they calculated the cost at $230.80. I told them I would hold off on that service. The next day, I learned from the Toyota dealer that my car would not be due for a transmission fluid change until it has gone 90,000 miles! They also suggested replacing the air filter for $17.00 plus tax. I held off on that, too, and I replaced it myself for $3.00 less (though I was surprised at how clean the old one was).

My car was making noise and I was afraid to drive it far. I took it to a place where I had previously gotten an oil change but they couldn't immediately diagnose the problem so I left. I called Gili's and they gave me an appointment for the next day. Gili's gave me a ride to my work place and picked me up there at the end of the day when my car was ready. I was very impressed with how prompt and courteous they were, how easy they were to deal with, and how professional they ran the business. The problem was diagnosed quickly and correctly. My car is now running great and this was one of the least hassled car repairs I can remember. I'm not sure how their price was because I didn't compare, but given the speed and ease of their service, I was very satisfied.

Gili and his team are excellent mechanics. They worked with me to keep the price down and still get the results I wanted. They explained everything. They were trustworthy. They gave rides to and from the Metro. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. I never felt they were trying to sell work to me that my car didn't need. Even my father, who knows a lot about cars, was impressed with them and has used them himself. I can't see myself using any other auto shop. At one point, Gili even took my car out with me so he could hear a noise that I couldn't describe. When we got back to the shop he told the guy behind the counter to not charge for his time.

My wife's 2004 Subaru Forester was blindsided in a hit and run, and we had it repaired at a body shop chosen by our insurer. While it was being fixed, my wife drove my car, and decided that it was now her car. So, I was stuff with old Subaru, which she had neglicted to service or repair for years. I bought the Big Deal for $40 for inspection and oil change, and told Gili's I was deciding whether to keep the car or trade it in. They did a thorough inspection, and explained all of the necessary repairs, the exact costs to perform them and an analysis of whether they were truly necessary. They also told me that with only 80,000 miles on the odometer and the engine and transmission being in good shape, that I was likely to be able to drive it to well over 100,000 miles. They did an good job and it drives great. I then met with Gili the owner who runs the body shop attached the automotive repair..He showed me where the insurance company-recommended body shop skimped on the paint job...reviewed the car's body with me, and worked out a reasonable price to replace a rusting rear panel, touch up the paint, and buff the body with a high speed buffer. It was abut $1,000. He told me because I live and work in DC I should have anything done to the bumper, because it would likely get minor scratches and dents immediately from being parked on the street. It's a good reliable shop with experienced mechanics and bodymen.

They did a fine job and I have no complaints about them.

Went to the Honda dealer for an oil change and was told I needed $2500.00 worth of repairs. This was my first trip to the dealer once my extended warranty ended. Kind of suprised so many things broke in less than 2 months since my last visit. Went to Gilis for a second check to see if all the items noted by the dealer were actually broken. I was told several of the items were in need of replacement but the other items were still in good shape. Had Gilis replace the items mentioined above for significantly less that what the dealers work would have cost. Excellent and freindly service. Highly recommend them to others and will take my cars to this company from now on.

I drove out of my way to go there because they had a good Angie's List rating. My experience with them was very good. Their price was competitive. I did some calling around for pricing and some items they were higher and some were lower so it was kind of break-even. I would give them an A- or B+ on their pricing. Since its only been a couple of weeks, the quality is a little difficult to tell but everything seems to be fine. They were helpful and attentive. I don't know much about cars so I have a lot of stupid questions and they were very nice about it. I would use them again and in fact, I have already referred someone to them.

They charged 30% less than the dealer, and did it in a day, and used OEM parts and it works great! My car is extremely expensive, so the cost was more expensive than on a normal car.

I used an Angie's List Deal but I spent a lot more than the $17.99 oil change special price because of the extra work. I have no complaints about spending the extra money; I think they did well. I will use them again in the future.

They did really great. The car looks great and they were worked really well with the insurance.

I had a mixed experience. I dropped my car off when the shop opened and explained the problems with the heating system. Processing was quick and I left with the expectation that I would receive a phone call in the morning about the suggested plan. No one called me, so by noon I called to see whether the diagnostics were completed. It took 2 more calls until I was able to get a response. In addition to the heating system problem ($2K), the service repair recommended several additional potential repairs (another $2K) adding up to $4,000. On the one hand, I thought these might be justified because of the age of the car but did not think the overall value of the car was $4K. I picked up the car and did not authorize the repairs. I decided to take the car to the Chevy dealer. He also said the heating repair would cost $2K. However, when I asked about the other problems that had been presented to me by Gilis Automotive-- he said only one of these was legitimate. Hence, Gilis Automotive suggested several additional repairs that the Chevy dealer service said were not needed. My suggest is that you make sure you ask about any additional work that Gilis Automotive suggests need to be done if you decide to use their services.

Gili's is honest and reliable. Will use again.

They communicate well and are very straight forward about what they have to do to fix the car. They are good diagnosticians.

Their work is excellent. I felt like I was treated fairly and NOT taken advantage- a rare thing these days. My honda is running back at full strength. I would recommended them to anyone who needs an honest, reliable mechanic. I will return here often.

Called for info and rough estimate. Spoke to Brian who was very professional and friendly; he indicated they could certainly perform the service but would first inspect the car and let me know what needed to be done vs. doing everything on the factory maintenance checklist. It was very easy to schedule the appointment, dropped my car off and they drove me to work (Joel was very nice). Got a call from Greg later that morning to review and authorize the recommended work. Work was done by late afternoon; they picked me up from work (this is a fabulous service!). Greg explained all that was done and I paid the stunningly low bill (compared to the quote from Audi dealer for 55k service). At the last minute I remembered to ask about replacing the battery in the key fob. They took a quick 5-10 minutes to do this and invited me to stop by any time to get the battery replaced in the second key. I also need to replace the tires; Greg indicated I might find better prices online and could have the tires shipped to them then schedule an appointment to have them mounted and balanced. They'd charge the same price for mounting and balancing regardless of where the tires are purchased. Best car service experience I've ever had!

Excellant experience, but expensive. I guess cars are expensive no matter where you go. Called on day one to repair broken driver's seat and brought it in the next day. They said they could weld it and offered to do it on the spot (no pun intended). But I didn't have a ride home. Brought it in the next day and I asked them to took at some other things and repair as needed. All of the work was done on the same day. Very prompt, friendly, agreeable. I was surprised that the car actually rode much better, so maybe the price was worth it. We intend to drive the Jeep for as long as possible and Gili's seems the place to go to make that happen. As for a discount on a big job.

Gili's was responsive and honestly told me how long the job would take, working diligently to get the job done in the required time.
