Gaithersburg Garage Door did an outstanding job. My 20 year old garage door finally gave out one too many times so I researched garage doors and installers carefully and decided on Gaithersburg Garage Door after meeting with several other dealers including the Costco installer. First of all what I liked about GGD is that they use Clopay Garage Doors which are the ONLY ones who have the Good Housekeeping Magazine stamp of approval. The sales rep was up front and let me know the whole process, cost and process and also that my motor still had 'five years' left on it so I did not need to get it replaced which saved me $320 (hint, hint: he was honest). The entire double insulated steel door with windows price for purchase and installation was $1500. Interestingly enough, I got an estimate from the Costco installer who sells Amarr Doors and the price was $1750 but they "gave a $250 rebate". It sounded good but when comparing installers Costco's price was consistently about $250 higher than the others. In other words you were really only 'buying' your own rebate card from Costco. So no saving there. The installation process took about two hours. I strongly recommend Gaithersburg Garage Door for a quality product installed a very fair price.

I called the company early this morning and Ryan had an afternoon appointment open for today. He was able to give me a quote over the phone . The serviceman, Jimmy, arrived early and went right to work replacing the springs . After he finished he showed me how the door was working and said the loud clicking was from the rollers. There was absolutely no pressure to replace them but since he was here I told him to change all of them. He also changed the keypad battery. The door now works very quietly. I would not hesitate to use this company again or recommend them to a friend or neighbor.

We had two wooden garage doors that were rotted and creaky. The openers were relatively new and in good shape, so we just needed new doors and associated hardware (runners, support brackets, etc.). Dave, the project manager came to do the estimate and was on time and showed me several options. He offered helpful suggestions but wasn't too pushy. He gave me a date certain on the spot, which I appreciated. The crew showed up on time and were polite and efficient. Very responsive to any questions I had. There was a small problem in that the door bottom needed an oversized rubber piece on the bottom to close out properly given an uneven driveway; they promised to come back and install it which they did within a week or so. All in all, a very positive experience.

The provider was friendly and professional. He did a very good job even though we had to deal with a situation with our neighbor, who was causing problems. We appreciate his patience in the matter. We recognized that he took pride in his work and that means a lot to us. Thank you.

Double garage door came off track and jamed in place trapping our car. The Teck arrived 2nd stop the next morning and fixed the problem and off to work we went.

I contacted Gaithersburg Garage Door about four years ago when a Sears garage door opener I had installed several years earlier failed. The technician arrived the same day. I expected the garage door opener would have to be replaced, since it was a rather old system that Sears no longer sold. But the technician found that it was merely a stripped gear inside the opener, and much to my surprise, he had a replacement gear in his truck. He installed it, then realigned the tracks. The opener has been working perfectly ever since. The technician was very pleasant and seemed to know his job very well. I would not hesitate to use Gaithersburg Garage Doors again should the need arise.

This worked perfectly. I had my carport enclosed for a garage and then Gaithersburg Garage door installed the new door. There was a cracked glass in one of the inserts but they pointed it out to me and ordered a replacement and came out and installed it when it came in. Everything happened on schedule and was professionally done - it's been close to 1-1/2 years and absolutely no problems.

One cable snapped on my garage door on a Sunday. I called the Gaithersburg Garage Door company and left a message on their answering machine. Unfortunately, they do not offer emergency same-day service but a representative did call me back the following morning and left a message on my answering machine. When I returned the call late morning, we scheduled service for Tuesday afternoon. The repairman arrived a 4:00 pm and replaced the broken cable. He asked if I wanted the cable on the other side of the garage door replaced also. I did, so he replaced both. Received a 3 year parts and labor warranty

The sales guy was really nice. The installer was very friendly and was great around kids. The door they replaced was in very bad shape so they rushed to get my door installed within a week. Overall great sales, back office and installer.

I got a quick reply to my quote request. Sales person Dave Baker came by and gave me a estimate, didn't try to over sell anything. Actually was upfront about not needing new garage door openers. I compared his quote of $5115 to HomeDepot of $4450 for identical doors and service, not including tax or disposal of old doors. I presented this to Mr. Baker who promptly contacted his Clopay rep and got me the identical sales price HD was offering. Doors, labor and tax was $4500, all included. They scheduled service for one week later, professional installers did a quick and clean job. I was home for the install but was told I could have simply left one door unlocked for them. The new doors with all the hardware including new track and chains made the openers supre quiet, just as Mr. Baker said. The doors are beautiful of course, but the service was the best part of the experience.

Perfect. Technician on time, diagnosed the problem, gave me an estimate and did the work. In and out in less than 1 hr and door has worked fine since. Would definitely recommend this contractor any time!

The guy was great -- friendly, professional, on time, cleaned up when done and put everything back in its place. And he programmed my car to connect to the opener eliminating the need for individual openers (but I got two new ones as well). I have used this company in the past for a minor repair and will definitely use them in the future. And the price was reasonable and I got a 5% discount.

The door broke amid the sleet that was coming down, of course, and after we were in the house we looked on Angie's list and jotted down a few numbers. When we called the in morning the first business kept me on hold so long I decided that it was not a good sign and turned to Gaithersburg and was very glad that i did. I explained what I thought needed to be done and received a quote based on that service. We decided to pay a bit extra for a same-day service as it fit with my work schedule and they were on a call nearby. When I arrived home 20 minutes later the technician was there. He said that yes, it was a broken spring and when I mentioned all that the previous contractor had told us needed to be done 2 yrs. ago when they last broke, he said that those were not necessary services...all new cable and rollers. He finished in about 1/2 an hour, told me the best way to keep the spring and the door in the best working order, showed me all that he had done, and explained their warranty for their work. Definitely recommend them!

Gaithersburg Garage Doors did a fantastic job on replacing two damaged garage doors and the aging lifters associated with them. They provided excellent on-site advice during the estimate process, answered tons of questions, provided samples of material from which we could make an informed selection, and delivered the most price-worthy of the several we received. The company was very flexible in terms of scheduling, as the garage door project had to wait for other exterior work to be completed. Working with us in terms of timing, the company was able to accommodate non-traditional work hour requests in order to fit within the overall construction plan. The technician installer was a real pro -- the sort of quiet professional for whom we often hope but infrequently find. They did the job right the first time. Strongly recommended.

The door was delivered on the day promised and installed on a very, very cold day by one gentleman in an amazingly fast and efficient manner. I was very impressed with the customer service from start to finish.

My wife and I wanted to see the actual garage door opener. We set up an appointment to see a demonstration of the garage door opener at their store. We arrived and saw that Gaithersburg Garage Door Inc had a mock-up of several garage door openers in their store. After seeing the demo, we agreed to purchase the garage door opener and the installation from Gaithersburg Garage Door Inc. We set up an installation date and time for a a few days later. On the agreed upon installation date within an hour before the agreed upon time, the installation technician called me when when he said he was approximately 1/2 hour away. That was fine with me. He arrived shortly thereafter and began the work of removing my old garage door opener and installing the new garage door opener. The job took about 1 hour. It went smoothly. The technician was knowledgeable and knew what to do. When he finished he presented me with an invoice that matched what we had agreed upon. I paid the invoice. He hauled off the old garage door opener in his truck. All-in-all, a pleasant experience. Then, about 1 week later, one of the garage door opener remote key fobs failed to work. I called Gaithersburg Garage Door Inc and set up a time for a technician to come out and troubleshoot the problem. Within 5 minutes of that technician arriving and troubleshooting, he determined the problem was the remote key fob unit. He replaced that unit with a new unit at no cost to me and I haven't had a problem since. I was pleased with the initial installation and with the procedure and resolution of the problem with one of my remote key fob units. Their customer service scheduling and operation worked perfectly. I would certainly use Gaithersburg Garage Door Inc again.
