Fred made recommendations as to what PC to upgrade to (he doesn't sell PCs), came to the house and professionally set up the new PC after transfer all necessary items. He was pleasant and personable and certainly knew what he was doing.

This is the 2nd time I have scheduled Fred to come to my home for a consultation, assessment, installation of updates and a general discussion of questions I have gathered since my last checkup. Fred is a true expert in his field. He is patient and ensures I understand all he is doing in a stepwise manner. I 1st scheduled Fred to install my new Epson wireless printer. The installation went very well. However, when Fred performed his first assessment of my Dell laptop which I had installed by another Angie's List Computer Tech, he noticed that no Windows Updates had been installed for close to one year. Fred worked on this problem for well over an hour without success. He recommended I wait to see if the problem corrects itself and to also try Dell Tech Support since my laptop was still under warranty. Fred said that if the problem cannot be resolved, the only solution was to clean the HD and reinstall all the programs. Dell Tech Support worked on my computer remotely for over 2 hours without success and validated the same recommendations given to me by Fred. Fred and I agreed we would wait until my next checkup in January 2014 to re-evaluate and make a decision then. Fred again told me to keep checking to see if the computer would download and install updates. Low and behold, one Sunday in October of 2013, my laptop started to download and install Windows updates. All has been well ever since. My 2nd visit by Fred was in January 2014 when he did a comprehensive checkup and made sure I had all the recommended updates installed for my programs. During his assessment, he observed my computer was infected with multiple viruses which he removed. My computer is running better than ever. Fred even called me 2 weeks after his visit to ensure that everything was working well with my computer and to please call him if I had any questions. Fred is a true professional who is also a very good teacher especially for those clients who are novices with electronic devices. Fred is definitely the only technician I will contact in the future for all my IT needs. I am so grateful to Fred for his help and sharing his expertise. I have already scheduled Fred to perform a checkup in 6 months.

I was very pleased with ACOM's service, represented by Fred Zoulfagharian, who I believe is the owner. Certainly not your typical "computer geek," Fred is an older man who immediately inspires confidence in knowing what he is doing. He first checked out the computer to determine whether any viruses or malware were still present - there weren't - and then quickly diagnosed the residual problem with the operating system. Eventually, he was here for nearly six hours, during most of which I sat with him to understand what he was doing. At every step of the way, he explained the various processes and offered alternative approaches for me to consider. I certainly learned a lot! At the end of his visit, the computer was working better than ever, and he restored all the files and key applications that I had stored. He emphasized that he wouldn't be satisfied until I thought everything was back to normal. ("Like it never even happened.") It turns out that Fred is a Persian emigre, and while waiting for various downloads, scans, etc. we had long and interesting conversations about his life story, Persian food, Persian music, and the nature of his computer business. He's a very personable guy! Several days after the service, he gave me a follow-up call to check that everything was still okay. All in all, it was a pleasure to do business with him. Frankly, Fred isn't the cheapest computer tech you'll find, but if you want the job done right, he's the man. I sensed an extremely high level of competence and integrity, and I was sufficiently impressed to sign up for regular six-month service calls by his firm.

As I had expected, the hard drive was irretrievably damaged. Fred left his recovery software running for a full day and was candid about the costs for a send away service to retrieve any possible data. I really appreciated his advice and generous discount because he was unable to perform a miracle. I would definitely use his service again if I ever needed it and recommend ACOM wholeheartedly. It was great to find a skilled, reliable and honest PC repair service.

The technician was on time, very professional, knowledgable. He was also more than happy to give extra advice and called afterwards to see if everything was in order and working.

Everything was excellent! He stayed on the problem to ensure it was totally fixed. He didn't drop the ball. His communication with me during the entire process was great, and he has great customer service. I would definitely take my computer back to him again.

After the hard drive on my laptop failed, I contacted ACOM Computers based upon their positive reviews and location. Fred, the owner, promptly contacted me and scheduled a time look at my laptop. While his company makes house calls, it was easier for me to drop off my machine at this office in Rockville. He promptly diagnosed the problem. Fred is a very patient man who took the time necessary to clearly explain what happened, provide the pros and cons of various options, and make sure I was comfortable with the decisions made throughout the repair process. Most importantly Fred took the time necessary to make sure the job was done correctly. In this particular instance, Fred discovered the recovery media from the laptop manufacturer was properly updated and took the time necessary to ensure my laptop was correctly restored. They were very good. We appreciated their input. The man that came for the work was well-mannered and knew what he was doing. They were easy to get in contact with and I would use them again.

I called Fred at ACOM when a virus hit my desktop and my daughter's laptop. He was extremely responsive as I had a deadline, and came out that afternoon. He diagnosed the problem and advised on course of action and cleaned out the laptop. We ended up replacing one of the computers and he was able to remove the documents/pictures/videos/music we needed from the old computer and completely setup the new. Fred is knowledgeable, responsive, and trustworthy. I will call him for all future computer needs.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It turned out just fine. He was very efficient, knowledgeable, and knew what to do. There were no extra charges.

I am not particularly happy with them. He said that I would need to replace the hard disk on my PC, because there was some kind of interruption. I paid him. I did go out and buy a new computer, because the labor and the hard disk were going to cost more. I ended up doing a temporary solution to my computer, that the person I paid to come up with. I ended up doing it myself. I only paid the $70; he was here for a half hour at the most. I would not use them again.

Fred called to say what time he would arrive & arrived exactly on time. He answered all my questions & explained how he was fixing my computer as he worked. The price of repair was more reasonable than other providers I checked & I didn't have to haul the computer into a shop for repair. Fred even called the next day to see how the computer was doing.

After I purchased the laptop, I made an appt. for Fred to come to my home & set everything up. He was thorough & wonderful. He was able to upload my old hard drive to my new one ( some precious photos were on that hard drive.) He showed me around my computer ( I got Windows 8), connected my printer to its wifi, showed me how to scan & use the fax. And most important, he wouldn't leave until he was sure my security & firewall were completely installed, functional & updated. I plan on having him come every 6months for maintainence care. I feel so lucky to have found him.

Fred was very helpful and communicative throughout the diagnosis and repair process. I've never had my computer repaired before, but the price seemed fair for what was done. Would definitely use him again if necessary.

I didn't have to re-install a thing or copy back data from the backup drive, but could get right back to work. He was easy to talk with, clear in explaining issues, and very up-front about qualifying any promises, letting me know what was happening, and being explicit about the limits of his initial cost estimates. Fred rescued my tax season (and my clients) from disaster. His price was more than fair; it seemed generously low. And he is considerate of his customers' individual needs.

Was very pleased with Fred staying for two and a half hours to complete the printer fix and rid my computer of the virus. I will recommend him to everyone.

Excellent service. Fred is very knowledgeable. He came out the day I called, worked very efficiently and, although the problem with my newer laptop is too expensive to be worth fixing, he improved the functioning of the machine so that I can continue to use it.

Fred arrived on time as scheduled and confirmed the appointment the day before. He had given me an estimate on the phone and that estimate was very close to the final bill. He spent a couple of hours at our office removing hard drives, taking away old monitors, printers and computers, and setting up a new wireless printer. He made sure our assistant got familiar with the new printer and that our other computers could communicate with the printer. Fred was efficient, friendly, and very capable.
