It was excellent! We live in a heavily wooded area, but I haven't had to clean the gutters since the system's installation.

It took them about 5 attempts to come out and fix a gap between the gutters and the helmets which was causing leaking. I was not happy that it took so long.

The company did great from start to finish. They set the appointment date and time window and met it for both providing an estimate and installation, with a reminder before showing up. I did not have to be home for the work. I found a 15% off deal on angie's list but also a 20% off at a home show. They color matched very well with my roof and my neighbor did not realize the work was done yet. I also got them to include one future uninstall and reinstall for when I redo the roof in a few years.

The finished product and installation is fine. The problem I had was with scheduling and communication. A date was set for to remove my existing Gutter Helmets which was 2 weeks before my contractor was to start on the addition. I called the day before the date and the peron on the phone told me that there was no record of that date being scheduled. A new date was scheduled for the removal and the day before there were new gutters and downs sitting in my back yard. When the installer came to remove the gutters he was ready to install the new guterrs and I had to stop him and told him to not install them and to take them with him. (I was about to have demolition of a deck, have all my siding, gutters, deck removed and a 14x14 sunroom installed. The new gutters could not be installed untill after all the other work was completed about 45 days away. So the addition... was complete and time for the new gutters and Helmets to be installed. As before the gutters show up in my back yard the day before the install. next day installer comes and begins the installation only to find out some of the gutters were the wrong length and he could not finish the job. He had to come back 5 days later to complete the job. After all was said and done the completed intallation and materials were all I expected them to be. I love how Gutter Helmets keep stuff out of the gutters. My original Helmets were up for 5 years and the gutters never had to be cleaned. When the Helmets were removed for my remodeling projects there was very lttle debris in the gutters. Even though Gutter Helmets are more expensive than some competitors I highly recommend them. They are better made than ones my neighbors have and have a cleaner look than my neighbors other brand of covers that almost cost the same price.

I had problems with them at first. The gutter still leaks. The last time the technician did something about it but now its leaking again. They haven't completely solved the problem on that. They cleaned the gutter several times. The first time the quality control manager came out I had a problem with him as he never followed up after taking pictures. The technician who was cleaning up said the quality manager did not follow up because he did not have the tools to do the job properly. After that I gave up. They last time he tried to seal the gutter to the chimney but still it started leaking a couple of months later. They did not charge me for any of their visits and the original problem has never been solved. The last technician did the best he could and was really conscious about it. I have given up on the problem myself. I would use them again in the future.

I had heard about Gutter Helmet from Chris Core on the radio and had seen the product at a home show. This work was done almost 10 years ago and I do still have the paperwork. I don't recall the exact details but I don't have any bad memories of the experience. Here is what I remember. I recall that the workmen arrived on time. I had selected a color for the "helmet" but had a change of heart. They had other colors on the truck and were very patient in that they climbed up on the roof and held up sections while I walked up the street to get a better view of what it would look like. I actually decided to go with the color that the salesman had recommended. The gutter had to be rebalanced so that the water would flow properly toward the downspouts. Once this was done, the "helmet" was installed on both the front and back of the house. The work was done quickly and all the debris was cleaned up. I have been very satisfied with the "helmet" but I will say that the edge has to be power washed every few years to maintain its efficiency. If dirt is allowed to build up on the edge, the water doesn't flow properly into the gutter. Please keep in mind that this work was done 10 years ago and workmen change. However, I am very pleased with the product and would defiinitely recommend it and actually did recommend it to my sister who also had it installed.

Very nice sales representative, not push, but thorough. Competitive price. Theyu came exactly when schedule, no mess left behind after they were finished. We haven't had any huge downpours since installation, but the few rains we have had have shown the system to be functioning well. Most of the neighbors in my court have the system too, and they have been satisfied. Would recommend to my friends.

The installation crew came on time and the work was done within 1.5 hours. Everything went great and works great! I was a little disappointed with the wait for installation after the initial estimate, but it was as the agent described.

On January 6 I wrote a strongly negative report on my experience with Gutter Helmet. The day after the report appeared Del Thebaud, owner of the firm, called me to discuss the situation. He apologized for what had happened and wanted a chance to fix things. By way of history I originally had the Gutter Helmet product installed about ten years ago and it worked quite well. In 2010 the gutter guards were badly damaged during a hail storm and they needed to be replaced. The replacement project was done in September of 2010. I needed to have some gutter repair done this winter and wanted Gutter Helmet involved to be sure that the product was re-installed properly after the work and I also wanted them to do the needed repair work because my earlier experience with them had been favorable. That encounter went terribly wrong and prompted me to write the previous report. When Del called me I had already signed a contract with another vendor for the repair work which would require removal of a portion of the gutter guards. Del advised me to have the vendor leave the guards off and he would send someone to re-install the guards so that it would be done properly and not affect the warranty. He would do this at no cost to me. I got a call from Dina who very cordially scheduled the work for Tuesday morning. When it was raining on Tue, Dina called early and assured me that a crew would be at my house early Wednesday. As promised, Dante and Lamar showed up early Wednesday. They were very professional and courteous and went right to work. The completed the work within 45 minutes. I am happy with the work and the way they performed. Del did what a business should do when things don't go well. He called his customer did what it took to put things right, and I noticed a distinct difference in the way I was treated. Gutter Helmet is back on my Good Guys List.

The sales presentation was good and explained all the features of the system. Somewhat high pressure sales pitch in that an extra discount was offered if you signed up during the presentation. I had decided to buy the system before I had the salesmen come to my home, so the extra discount offered was a plus for me. The system is expensive when compared to other gutter guard solutions. The System was installed on the scheduled day and the installers showed up at the scheduled time. They installed the entire system in several hours. I was glad I was home at the time of the install because one of the services included is gutter realignment if needed. After the job was done I noticed that one of the gutters in the back was not realigned, i.e., the slope was not sufficient. You could see it clearly from the ground. I pointed this out to the installer and they removed the system from that gutter and corrected the slope. Had I not been here during the installation it's not clear this would have been done. Also one of the end caps, which the installers cut by hand, did not look right. I pointed this out and they replaced it. I had to have Gutter Helmet return for service because during a heavy rain storm the water was pouring off my roof where the roof valleys come down to the gutters. This happened even though they had installed baffles at these points during the initial installation. They corrected the problem by adjusting the gap on the system, apparently the system was installed too far forward on the gutter and had to be moved back. I was not home during this repair so I don't know exactly what was done (they came when I was on vacation and I had told the service department not to show up at that time). Apparently there was some miscommunication. We have not had a severe downpour since the adjustment so I don't know if it will work but am hopeful that it will. As to the quality of the system I think the system panels are excellent, but the screws they use to screw into the gutter and into the roof are rusting terribly. You would think for the price of the system they would use stainless steel or some alloy-based screw that wouldn't rust. The other problem I have noticed is that you do get a lot of ice cycles hanging down from the gutters after a snow storm. This can be prevented by removing the snow from the edge of the roof or having heat tapes installed (Gutter Helmet will do this but I don't know the price). Overall this company did a good job, and I'm glad I had the system installed. No more cleaning the gutters several times in the fall or in the rain when the gutters would overflow due to clogged downspouts. UPDATE: The Gutter Helmet Service Department called me last week to schedule an appointment to replace all of the screws that were rusting. I had mentioned this rusting problem in my initial report. After making the appointment for Jan. 18th, I had a dental emergency requiring me to see a dentist on the morning of the 18th. I called Gutter Helmet to arrange a new time, and Dina, who I believe is the Service Manager, was very nice and checked her schedule to see about what time they would arrive on the 18th. As it turns out they were scheduled for the afternoon so there was not a problem. On Tuesday, January 17, 2012, they called again to say they would be at my house on Wednesday the 18th between 12 and 2 PM. On Wednesday they showed up at 12:10 PM -- right on schedule, and two service technicians replaced all of the screws on my system in about 1 hour. Hopefully the replacement screws will not rust. Since all of my problems have now been corrected, I have changed my initial ratings for overall experience, quality and professionalism from "B" to "A".

I called several people and got estimates. They were the most professional and they knew what they were doing. They came in right on the money. There wasn't anything that wasn't high quality including their customer service. They give a lifetime guarantee even with the transfer of ownership.

We got 3 or 4 bids for the work we wanted done, including several different systems. We chose Gutter Helmet and scheduled the work on line. The work was completed timely and in a professional manner. We recently had a problem with one downspout clogging up. We contacted Gutter Helmet and an appointment was scheduled for them to come out and clean the downspout. There were several delays due to weather, but they always kept us informed when they had to cancel. When the were able to come, the cleaned all of the gutters and downspouts.

They showed up as scheduled and did the job in the time estimated. Had to call them twice to make some adjustments, but they responded promptly each time and made everything right. Very pleased with the product and the whole experience.

Continuing from above, my wife and I attended the Dulles home show and came across the Gutter Helmet booth. We were impressed with their demonstration. As an engineer, I was convinced that their system would work better than the other set-ups we had seen. From the show, we arranged for an estimate. The folks arrived at the appointed time. We then decided to go with the installation, however were concerned that we would have to wait until we installed a new roof (our asphalt shingles were 15 years old - new home so they weren't very good) because Gutter Helmet said if anyone removed the system it would void their warranty. In our negotiation, they agreed to remove and replace the entire system within two years of installation should we decide to put on a new roof. This was included in our contract. 9 months later 9or so) we had a new roof installed. I called Gutter Helmet and arranged for removal. It took about 2 weeks for them to fit it into their schedule due to their heavy workload. After the roof was installed, Gutter Helmet came out immediately and installed their system. A month or so later I received a bill for the remove and installation associated with the new roof. Frankly, the bill was set aside and lost track of. About 6 months later I received a follow-up message from Gutter Helmet to pay the bill. At this time I called and explained my understanding of the agreement. The comptroller took my information and looked up our contract - over a year old. About 10 minutes later she called back saying that our agreement was in the contract and that there would be no bill. I mention this because I don't think Gutter Helmet was trying to pull one over on me. I believe that it was an oversight. The other reason I mention this is that it speaks to the high character of not only the product but the people at Gutter Helmet. The comptroller could have easily not gone out of her way to figure out the contact details, and instead foisted it back on me. This impressed me a great deal - therefore I sing their praises!!

I was really impressed with them. They did the work 4 or 5 years ago and I have not had any problems with it. They did a great job.

They insisted the gutter was rusted (it was not) and that the gutter had to be replaced. I have had their system for 8 years and it works OK. I had the sense they were just trying to sell me a new gutter. But with my house up for sale, I had to fix the drip. Chris the estimator came 8/11 and was very professional and nice. He assured me that the replacement would be installed the week before Labor Day (the house was going on the market the week after). He phoned a week before that and left me a voice mail but did not return my voice mails. I finally called the office to find out what he wanted. The woman who answers the phone is the rudest, must curt person who knows not an iota about good customer service. She blunted stated "You NEED to sign and return the contract." When I replied Chris walked off with the signed contract 8/11, she blasted me with "We have 60-120 days to complete work! I will contact Chris and get back with you." She never did. I phoned corporate headquarters who was very apologetic and understanding and again "we will get back with you." They never did. Three days after that I received a card stating that installation would be 9/6. Unfortunately due to a week of rain, it could not be done that week. I phoned to reschedule and it was 9/13. Installers arrived only to realize the office had scheduled the delivery of the gutter for 9/14 (the next day!) and they left. It arrived 9/14 and the installers returned 9/15 - the day AFTER the house went on the market. Donte and his assistant could not have been nicer and more competent. I guess all is well that ends well, but dealing with this outfit is iffy - especially that woman in the office who is extremely stressfull and frustrating to deal with. She needs to learn and practice the 'ol maxim: the customer is ALWAYS right.
