Katzen Eye Group

Dr. Donna Booth and her staff gave me a very thorough eye exam. They explained what they were doing and testing for, and everyone was very friendly. The doctor answered all my questions and addressed my concerns in a a very caring way. The office was clean and comfortable, and I didn't have to wait long to be seen. I was very pleased with my appointment and they even said they'd call me next year to remind me it's time for my check up.

Everything went well except the wait time. A wait for the exam and a very LONG wait for the optical department. The waiting room was very crowded. It appears they need more staff to accommodate customers.

Katzen has been a nightmare from the get-go. The eye doctor never asked about the distance for my computer monitor or the distance I use for reading. I inquired why she didn't ask, she said it was "all math." Needless to say, the Rx given to me by the eye doctor was wrong. I returned for a follow-up. She was nearly an hour late to the exam; no apology or excuse was given. She spent three minutes, wrote out a new Rx. Unfortunately, the Rx she gave me was incomplete - seriously. It had no ADD number on it. The glasses provider called; it took the entire day for Katzen to fax over the RX, which again was wrong. I have now tried twice to contact Katzen and no one has returned my calls. This is, in my opinion, an incompetent company with shoddy customer service.

As always, I had a pleasanr experience at Katzen. The office is spotless and staff is always friendly. Dr. Ross Bregel is absolutley wonderful and I have been seeing him for 30 years.

In the end, I filed a formal charge dispute with my credit card company, and informed Katzen. The CEO contacted me and gave me a partial refund. The routine eye exam was given by a technician instead of the eye physician, who spent 3 minutes with me while reading aloud the written results of the technician. There was an extensive wait time for my glasses to return from the lab. When the glasses did return, a sequence of issues unfolded: -Initial pick-up visit: after returning from the lab, cannot see through the lenses - everything is warped, blurry, and makes my eyes feel crossed - It was determined that my prescription had changed since the exam -return visit 1: still cannot see through the lenses - everything is warped, blurry, and makes my eyes feel crossed -return visit 2: something spilled on the glass lens, and they had to be returned to the lab -return visit 3: still cannot see through the lenses - everything is warped, blurry, and makes my eyes feel crossed - return visit 4: asked for a refund, met with CEO who assures me everything will be fixed within 2 weeks - return visit 5: unable to reach the CEO after 4 weeks and still cannot see through the lenses, and now my original adjustable nose piece has been replaced with a cheaper version that does not function properly- I was refused a refund (In the end, I filed a formal charge dispute with my credit card company, and informed Katzen- CEO contacts me and gives a partial refund)

They were very thorough and very caring. Everyone is approachable, it has made a world of difference.

They were great, professional and I didn't have to wait forever to get an appointment. I also bought my new glasses there and they had a good selection and the price wasn't too bad.

The staff member was very patient with all my questions. My prescription is very high in values and it is important to me to have the thinnest available material for lenses. All my options were thoroughly explained to me and I was given a detailed breakdown of prices and variations. I also tried many of their frames, but could not find a frame to my liking. The options available all seemed a bit outdated and not very hip. I have since purchased a frame somewhere else and I am now considering coming back to Katzen to order my lenses. I do think their prices are reasonable. Since I had my eyes examined there, they do offer some guarantees in case I am not happy with the vision I experience or if I can't get used to the progressive lenses. So that is a big plus.

This appointment was better than the one I had the previous year. The physician was friendlier and seemed more in tune with my questions and concerns. The first time I went for a visit, the year prior, I didn't have this feeling. Still I went back a second time and I am glad I did. In general the office is well run and seems organized. The staff is pleasant and professional. However due to the size of the operation, it does feel a bit like an assembly line service. I checked in at the front desk, then waited, then saw one person that checks your old perscription and eyes, then I was led to the examination room where i was seen by two other people separately before I spent any time with the doctor. Then, back out front to pay. In and out efficiently. I guess it doesn't feel all that personal but rather big and corporate. So that is a bit of a turn off for me personally, but I guess the quality of the doctors is just fine.

A gentleman assured me my glasses could be fixed. It turned out that the screws broke off and they could not repair the frame. The lenses were not broken, so he attempted to find a frame that would fit my lenses until I could order new glasses. Nonnie Cofiell, certified optician and optical department manager came to my rescue. She is awesome! Nonnie found a frame that would work (she did have to shave the lenses somewhat) as well as two side pieces. Amazingly, she apologized that they were black and that the sides did not match! She also voiced concern that I was to go to a family birthday party and so she wanted to make sure I could see to drive. (I wore my computer glasses to get to the office that fortunately is close to my home.) I have worn glasses all my life and never had broken them. I did not expect that I would be given the attention and care that I received and am extremely grateful to Nonnie for her kindness and skill. I immediately made an appointment for an eye exam and highly recommend this optical department in Lutherville.

From the start it was hard to get an appointment and the call back was slow. As I wrote above I felt like a product in a factory being shuttled around. I was not told extra that I would have to pay extra for a contact lens prescription until the end and they wanted an arm and a leg for it. I told them to keep their exam and I would go somewhere else. When I finally got to the Dr. his personality was flat as a crepe, and his demeanor told me he was bored with his job. I have been told that if you have some need for specialty eye care or procedures this is the place to go. I can say emphatically that if you are going for a routine checkup you are probably better off just about anywhere else.

were just to small my mistake for my face or the person helping me . I got out of office and my goodness I was so dizzy and could not see correctly out of my right lens . I had to go back to my old glasses for I am have my insurance plan and the turn over is January .of 2013 . I will not go back for daughter had the same problem . Otherwise everyone was very nice to me and kind .to me . Husband fanned out better his glasses were fine all the time . Just didn't work for me or daughter .

My vision is much improved but not 20/20. At first, the doctors told me that my eyes were still healing and it can take up to 6 months to achieve 20/20 vision. Then they told me that my vision was very poor to start with (true) and that they can only improve it to a certain level. After 7 months, my vision tested at 20/35. It was good enough to pass my drivers license without glasses but I do not feel safe driving, especially at night, and I cannot read street signs. So I have to get glasses for driving. My distance vision is blurry; I squint when watching T.V. It is just not what I expected. The staff is very professional especially the receptionist Arminda Pletel. She is very accessable, answering my questions by e-mail almost immediately. The surgery was fast and painless. I chose Katzen because of a Groupon deal. The deal did not mention that there was an additional $880 charge to use the laser machine to make the flap. If you don't want to pay the $880, you have to have the knife, which no one does any more and they do not recommend. And there is a very complicated post-operative eye-drop schedule. A more detailed timeline would help for that.

He confirmed what I thought--his eyes had not changed since the previous year. This meant I did not have to buy new glasses. This meant the doctor would not make a profit from an eyeglass purchase. Dr. Baziz was honest, sensitive to my son's age and thorough in the care he provided. From the moment we entered the door we were treated very well. Each staff member we encountered was courteous and professional. We will be returning soon for this year's annual exam.

They provide excellent service. They make sure everything is correct, and if not, they will fix it. I have been using their service for the past 10 years. They get me good glasses.

I use an ophthalmologist there. I go there because I've been going there forever.

They have been very good. I had an eye lift procedure. The cost was reasonable. I used Dr. McQuiad. They are very upfront and honest. They let you know what the insurance will pay and what they wont. One eye was covered, the other was not. The procedure was very quick and painless. There was no bruising or scarring. I will continue to use to them in the future.

The whole procedure took just 8 sec. They were good. For the next five years I will be going back to them for regular checkups.

So far if everything goes well, I would say they are excellent. They are very friendly and approachable.

The Angie's coupon was certainly nice to have. I was a little bit late for my appointment and they were accommodating. They explain things, well. I give them high ratings and would use them again in the future.

They are money grubers. Neither one of her operations were successful. It didn't fix her eyes. During the after care a doctor there mistreated her eye and it went bad. The place is a mill. You can sit in there for 2 hours. I'd go to a vet first.
