Pro Spex Home Inspection Services

Scheduling: Scheduling the inspection was extremely simple. I filled out their online appointment scheduler and was quickly able to navigate through their site to set everything up. Each page of the process was very informative and everything was laid out in a logical manner. I ran into one snag though. I had a deadline to get my inspection completed by as well as a timeframe for the inspection that was outside of the times offered on their site. I simple called their office number and spoke with Yvonne. She was extremely helpful and worked with me over the phone to get everything set up to meet my needs. Their administrative staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. A+ Our Inspector (Dan): Our inspector was Dan. We were extremely satisfied with his method of inspecting the house. He walked us around the outside and identified the issues that he found. He was open to questions, concerns, and addressed any issues or worries that we had as prospective homebuyers. He actually got on the roof to inspect it! His method was to have us wait in the kitchen while he worked his way through the entire house. We turned on all water sources and allowed them to run during the inspection to check for water leaks or plumbing issues. Once he completed his solo inspection, he came back and had us follow him through the house pointing out the issues that he found. More than issues, he also educated us on the house's appliances, and utility systems. He went over maintenance and care as well as emergency procedures for mitigating an issue should it arise. Our inspector was friendly, professional, and an excellent educator. Moreover, our inspector let us know areas that we should have inspected by a specialized professional. He would give us his interpretation of what he thought was an issue, and then let us know whether it was major, minor, or if we should have someone else come take a more critical look (such as an electrician, or structural engineer). The Report: We received the report on the home in less than 24hours. It was very detailed and included all of the images of the areas that were of concern. Their website has a sample report that you can view to see what kind of end product you will be getting. Overall: We were extremely satisfied with the professionalism of this company. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Everything went very smoothly with pro-spex. Yvonne was great at coordinating a date and time for the inspection and the inspector Chris Quick was super nice and knowledgeable. He let me tag along throughout the inspection and pointed out items that should be addressed and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend Chris and pro-spex.

Dan Fournier performed a home inspection on a home we're buying--he arrived early and performed a very thorough inspection over the course of about 3.5 hours. He clearly explained his work style--he likes to work alone on a single section (exterior, then each level of interior) at a time, performing the necessary checks, then walk us through everything he found. This gave us a chance to take some measurements and gain familiarity with the house. He clearly explained what he found to be wrong and right with the house, and covered general maintenance tips for everything from the furnace to the roof, seeing as we're first-time home buyers. The report that he sent after about 10 hours was well-documented with pictures and thorough in scope; it covers everything he had relayed to us verbally during the inspection. We're very happy with the quality of the inspection arranged by Pro-Spex and performed by Dan--we would absolutely recommend to others.

I called about 10 home inspectors within the baltimore, MD area and I found Yvonne to be the ABSOLUTE BEST at customer service and Pro-Spex the absolute best at what they do. Yvonne worked with me over the phone well past office hours on a Friday to get a pre-drywall appointment. She was courteous, knowledgeable, understanding of my immediate need of an inspector and fast at making it happen in a short period of time - within 12hrs of my phone call. I was lucky enough to have Glen for my pre-drywall inspection on 4/4/15. He was early to the appointment, courteous, professional, very knowledgeable and just as importantly, easy to talk to and actually taught us a lot. He went over every inch of our newly constructed home and I can attest that both my husband and I feel so much better after Glen inspected it. He generated a report complete with pictures, descriptions and recommendations for solutions. We simply sent it to our construction and project managers after which they addressed the issues. We are going to use them for our final inspection and will definitely recommend them to others.

Provided an excellent home inspection and a detailed report which was very thorough. I was very happy with the service and they we're very professional. I did not score them with an 'A' rating however because the price agreed to by phone included a full chimney inspection. When they got to the place they said the could not go onto the roof because the roof pitch was too steep and they did not have harnesses. I was disappointed here as I had scheduled other things thinking this would be done. I was even more disappointed that, although they did their best effort to look up the chimney from the inside they refused to take any money off the price for a service not performed. That left me feeling a little ripped off. If they just took $20 off I would have given them an 'A' rating :(

They were great! Showed up on time, went over all of their findings as well as explained how to properly fix the flagged items. They also made sure I understood how all of the systems in the home worked- great analogies and really broke things down in a way the average non home inspector could understand. They asked on multiple occasions if there was anything I did not understand or wanted to know. I did have some difficulty when trying to speak to a live person, but their customer service rep did respond via email. Overall very professional, respectful and pleasant to work with.

Glenn conducted the home inspection. I am a first time home buyer and selected this company based on the reviews I read. Glenn was great. Walked me through the whole process. Educated me on a number of things I knew nothing about. I would defiantly recommend Glenn.

Pro-Spex (Glen inspected my property) were very comprehensive. They spent a lot of time teaching about the house, explaining why things were ok or not ok. Their report was incredibly thorough with excellent use of pictures and videos. I showed the reports to contractors to get estimates on deck repairs; and the contractors each commented on how good the report was. Glen was thoughtful, patient, and responsive to questions. I clearly felt he was not trying to sell anything, just make sure it was a house I would want to live in and would be able to sell without problems. I really felt like he had my interests at the top.

Christopher Quick was our inspector. I was there and followed him around during the entire inspection. Overall, he was very thorough and found things that I had missed. We have now been living in the house for over a month and we haven't had any major problems that were not brought up during the inspection. Overall, I liked Chris and thought he was pretty good. I was also very happy that he was able to do our home inspection on New Years day. The one complaint that I have is that Chris was unable to provide us any information on the only major issue found. The brand new ceramic tile floor in the kitchen was installed incorrectly, which lead to loose tiles and cracking grout. We knew of this issue going in to the inspection. Unfortunately, Chris did not feel comfortable making any comment on the issue and instead told us to "consult a flooring expert". I wish that he would have given us at least some idea of the problem as it turned out to be a very typical issue that any handyman should have known.

Chris arrived promptly and explained the process. I accompanied him for the entire inspection (exception roof and attic). He explained everything in terms I could understand and answered all my questions. Highly recommended and would use again.

The termite inspector was there waiting for me when I arrived which I like. The termite inspector did his job, told us the results, and then left. The Home Inspector was a little late which I did not care, but not a big deal. He also didn't have the equipment for the Radon test as they didn't gave enough Radon tester available. He said it would get done just not today. That got on my nerves a little. He should have the equipment and be ready, not giving me reasons why he isn't. After that he was a total professional. He was thorough, he showed us areas of concern, told us easy things we could do around the house, and he provided his report in a timely manner.

The service went fine. One technician came out for the job. They did a good job. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

I purchased an inspection via Angie's List. Although Pro Spex does not service the area where I needed the inspection performed, they were very quick to get in touch with me and suggest an alternative company. Now if I could only get Angie's List to stop asking for reviews on companies I didn't do business with. :-/

Glen did an amazing job. He identified problems with the house, explained them to me in a way that I could understand, and helped me think through my next steps. This inspection allowed me to make the best decision possible, and saved me time and money in the long run. Great customer service too. So glad I chose ProSpex!

Brendan was my inspection agent and he was absolutely wonderful. He was very prompt when meeting me at the property and he was nothing but professional. The whole inspection process took about 3 hours and he was very thorough while also explaining every step to me as he went through the house. I'm sure that this is only a part of his job but it still amazed me that he actually tucked himself into the little crawl space behind the house to check on my insulation (did I mention he was thorough?). As a first-time home buyer, I felt very comfortable with his level of expertise. Actually, I ran into one one of my new neighbors during that day and he recognized the logo on Brendan's vehicle. Apparently, a lot of homes have been inspected by Pro-Spex in my area so that goes to show that they have a lot of satisfied customers that give referrals. I've been told that they are a bit expensive, but I used an Angie's List coupon so I can't really comment on whether or not this is true. All in all, I would highly recommend this company.

Glen found a hidden foundation problem we would have never found ourselves. We were denied access to the property for the additional termite inspection we purchased. It was refunded.

They did a good job. There were no additional fees associated with the deal. They sent out one technician for one day for 2 hours. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
