I have recommended these folks to everyone! They showed up early and began immediately!!! Not a thing was damaged and we had a delay in our settlement at the new house. The guys waited patiently outside the new home until we were able to begin offloading. All three guys were upbeat, and an absolute pleasure to work with! They made a stressful day fun! The office staff was just as professional and helpful....the only reason I didn't give 5 stars for price was because it's was a little higher than other companies quotes.....HOWEVER, there are absolutely no hidden costs and you truly get what you pay for!

This is hands down the BEST moving company in the DC area! I have worked with Metropolitan for several of my moves and for storage while I was in between moves. They are of the utmost professional, top notch quality, and easy to work with. If you are needing to move, this is the company to trust with your most precious possessions!

Jon Neal, owner of Metropolitan Moving and Storage, visited our home to begin the process and was most informative with suggestions as to how to contain costs with many suggestions. He provided us with an estimate for moving our personal items and his crew packing fragile items -- which included an art collection, glass collection and pottery collection -- all highly fragile, and of great value. He returned closer to the moving date to confirm the estimate -- and since I did follow his suggestions, my estimate was considerably lower! He did provide boxes and packing materials prior to the move so that I could do as he had suggested. We set up dates, his crew arrived and I have never seen a crew of men work so diligently, quickly, responsibly, carefully and with joy and good humor! They were amazing! We had a great time with them -- very professional, tending to their work but always interested in helping us in any way they could. Arrived on time and completed the packing phase as estimated. They returned the next morning as planned, and right to work! Again, such hard workers clearly enjoying their work and their team. A delight to have in our home! And their packing! When we finally met them at the new (much smaller home) we had some trouble fitting all the boxes in the house! Great humor -- pack it to the ceiling! We began the unpacking -- amazing how carefully they packed each item. Not a scratch anywhere -- not a crack in the glass! We unpacked part of our collection that night and were able to set it up immediately...all safely and carefully delivered to our new home for our next adventure. Thank you to Jon and his amazing crew! I highly recommend the company to you for your move. You can't be in better hands.

Move included some items to a son, the remainder to storage. Delivery was two months later in a new State. Everything went as scheduled and the crew was wonderfully accommodating right to the end. I highly recommend Metropolitan's services.

The team assigned to my move was punctual, very polite, and moved very quickly packing and loading the truck despite a pouring rain. On the other end, they unloaded furniture and boxes with the same speed. Everything arrived in perfect condition. I would definitely use Metropolitan again, and recommend them highly.

We had an excellent experience with Metropolitan Moving. From the first contact, to the estimator, through the move itself, everyone we came in contact with was professional, friendly and efficient. On the day of the move, the team was early and executed move out, pick up at self-storage and move in quickly. I would absolutely recommend Metropolitan Moving.

Despite the many horror stories that you often hear about, my moving experience was very smooth and efficient. The advance team assessed my home and provided moving and preparation tips, as well as, a reasonable estimate of the time and cost. The day of the move, the moving team arrived at the time they committed. They packed what still needed to be packed and they moved all of it without any problems. Everything that left my old home, made it to my new home.

Metropolitan Moving Co was stellar in every way for our interstate move. Their moving associates were efficient, skilled, friendly and careful. We moved from a multi-floor house and had some heavy, big furniture pieces. Here is how they excelled: - Their estimator was very experienced and quickly evaluated our job. His estimate of our space requirements was correct. The actual price was exactly right. - They delivered used boxes and new tape/bubble-wrap to our door for our pre-move packing - They arrived to pack early and were done early. They arrived at our destination on designated day/time and efficiently unloaded to storage. - They carefully wrapped each furniture piece - They expertly used the moving van and storage space to carefully fit in as much as possible - When we had a few too many items to fit in one moving van (as they had predicted) they offered temp storage and moved them to us on the next van to FL (at very reasonable cost) - Nothing broken, damaged or scratched. When it was time to move from storage to our Florida home, I wish I could have used Metropolitn again! The Florida movers couldn't stop mentioning how well everything was wrapped and packed. Yup, Metropolitan was a rock star in their eyes. Moving can be a stress-filled time, especially since we had to move right as DC became "locked down" for the 2020 Pandemic; but, Metropolitan made this move as stress-free as possible and I highly recommend them to any of my DC friends who are moving.

It went great! The entire team was professional, efficient, used care with all our belongings and extremely polite.

The move went smoothly and the crew did a great job taking care of our furniture and belongings, as well as getting them into the house to the right rooms. The communication before and during was excellent with Metropolitan being very responsive to my questions pre-move. The estimate was in person (despite COVID), which I was comfortable with and the estimator was masked and distanced appropriately. It felt a bit too salesy to me, but was in line with other bids and his approach to estimating slightly high gave me comfort of no surprises at end (and Metropolitan came slightly under their estimate, which I both expected, but also appreciated). Only two nits were a) when they presented the final charges and hours worked, it seemed like they included their lunch break (as I had kept a close eye on the time when they begin, the time when they finished, and the time they took off for lunch); b) not everyone in the crew wore masks at the house we were moving out of (they did wear them 100% at the new house). In these COVID-times, that feels like an important opportunity that would have made me more comfortable (so I just stayed outside). Would definitely recommend and would hire again. They did a great job!

It was very easy to work with Metropolitan Moving & Storage . We used them to pack our breakables, crate our artwork and to move our baby grand piano. We had the same crew at every step, including our move into our home which was out of state. Everyone was friendly and always ready to do a little bit extra if needed or we requested. You get what you pay for with Metro, and even with that they did come in under budget.

We had requested three quotes and while Metropolitan didn’t come in cheapest (they were in the middle) the quote was very reasonable and was based on a video walk through of the house, perfect in the time of Covid. There were no surprises and in fact the final price came in below the estimate so in the end was cheapest! The move itself couldn’t have gone smoother. The team (Mario, Emenelio and Gilmer) were amazing. They were courteous, careful and efficient, and worked incredibly well together. They wore masks at all times, came on time, well prepared and got straight to work with no down time. We would have absolutely no hesitation using Metropolitan again and would ask specifically for Mario and crew for the job. It’s so good to have a contractor live up to expectations and deliver as promised....sadly a rare thing nowadays.

Estimate was accurate and fair. Movers were on time and took good care of our things. It was raining and they took care to protect floors and furniture. Some lack of communication between office and movers but it was resolved positively.

I have used Metropolitan 4 times in the last 10 years both locally and for an out of state move. Service has always been excellent and price very reasonable. Moving crews are personable and very efficient. Highly recommend them for any move, big or small.

Excellent. My wife and I moved our family (two kids and one large dog) from DC to Connecticut in the midst of a pandemic this summer. What was anticipated to be a high-stress series of mishaps turned out to be a no-stress smooth ride. Metropolitan was on time on both ends, respectful of the current health norms/protective measures, and did not damage or lose a thing. Seems like a low bar, but these days it's anyone's guess. Highly recommend!

From the beginning of working with Metro Moving, it was positive. Their customer service is the best I have seen in any type of organization. The move went without any issues. The movers worked nonstop and were very careful with our furniture and other items. I highly recommend them. All who I worked with were professional, friendly and helpful!
