They packed up and moved my row house contents in under an hour and did the same on the other end of the move. They were pleasant to work with, and even had recommendations for restaurants in the area.

At first I would rate the service in the first hour an "A" after that it started going downhill as they acted very tired and was slowing down. The lead mover spoke about how they only look to get an "A" rating for Angies List and will keep that going. So let’s start with the overall review. 1st- I was quoted 6 hours to complete the job and no in home evaluation was needed even after I as the customer requested the in home evaluation because I wanted to be sure of the quote was accurate. I shopped around and allot of other were charging allot less an hour but I was told those places hire sub contractor help as needed and are not professional movers. So I decided to go with the $140 an hour choice for the true professionalism of moving. With that said let’s talk about the professionalism: 6 hour quote turned into a 10 and 1/2 hour quote, Damage to new home (hole in stairway walls and black marks all throughout the staircases plus a chipped in my new wood flooring), Requested floors to be fully covered because it’s a new home and they did not after being asked twice, loud comments about other jobs pertaining to customers not even giving them a water to drink or feeding them. Well we fed them (my wife went and bought them Wendy’s) and gave plenty of water to drink as they enjoyed playing with my new refrigerator water dispenser. One mover was not strong enough to handle the heavy stuff as why damage to the walls was made and the floor. Mover in charge did not take me seriously when I told and requested him about the floors in my new home. The fastest I seen them move is when they asked for payment before the job was done and a time predetermined to end at their convenience. Well their convenience, was on time how about that! The best is when they left because such in a rush to leave they forgot to tighten the screws on a bed just put on the threads not even hand tighten, placed the wrong box springs in each room, not fastening the mirror to the dresser with the brackets. The best of all is possible damaging my washer as it now leaks as it did yesterday in my new home (the icing on the cake). The handles on the machine were not good enough I guess and they used a strap to the front where the door is on the front loader and must have damaged it somehow to make a bad seal. Then let’s talk about clean up (tape wrappers and empty bottles of water everywhere especially the old house) so my experience is not good at all and if there is ever a next move it will be considered to go with the cheaper one because it seems like I paid for someone to destroy my new home at a higher rate. Sad thing is I went by the A rating from Angies List and the movers seem very pushy to get you to keep that rating (almost strong arm attitude) as I was requested to fill out the survey before they left and of course I informed them I would just fill out the survey online and the lead mover stated the company insisted in the sheet being filled out now before we leave. I then requested that something be put on the receipt for the damage as I was informed just to call the claims department. Then before they actually jumped into the truck to leave the lead came back with the form and wrote in the wall part. Have not called the claims department yet but will let you know how that goes down the road. For the price I would not recommend.

We have reviewed the review posted by the member regarding his recent move with our company. While we are always disappointed when one of our customers is not 100% satisfied with the services they received, we feel it is important to clarify some misinformation posted. First of all, the Consumer did not have an in-house estimate as he agreed to obtain an estimate via phone/email. As such, the estimate he obtained was not in any way a flat rate for the move, but merely a quote of the hourly rate plus the travel fee. When the movers arrived to the origin location they found that Consumer had significantly more items than he had previously represented, and many very large/heavy items. As such, the move took longer than expected. The crew did work for 10.5 hours, but in fact we only charged Consumer for 10 hours, and adjusted .5 hour off of his bill for Lunch. We must note that they have stayed a little longer than noted. In addition to our movers and drivers, we have a customer service team who is here to provide solutions to problems that may occur from time to time, even during the move. Our professional team is committed to resolve any issue that may occur with a customer, but, we would appreciate, if this matter would be brought to our attention and a chance to fix the problem would be given to us. At this time we are happy to assist the Consumer with filing a claim, but feel it is unfair for him to post a negative review without contacting our office first to allow us the opportunity to address & resolve any issues he may have with his move. Seeing Movers USA on Angie's List, I requested a free quote along with some others from competitors. This company was the first to call me and provide a more exact estimate. I waited to hear from some others, who were all more expensive for the same service. After talking to Gil and James, I felt comfortable with their offering (they also cut $125 off the price) and put down a deposit of $100. The movers were scheduled to arrive on Father's Day, June 17. Theycalled the day before to confirm and called the day of to let me know of their exact status. We were given an 8-10am window and they arrived around 8:30 with a team leader who handled the paperwork and three men who handled the moving. I was impressed at not only their speed (took them an hour), but the quality of packing and effort spent on making sure my furniture was securely wrapped and placed in the truck. The delivery was a little trickier, but was also handled with professionalism, speed and quality work. A certificate of insurance was required in our NYC building, which Gil promptly filled out and faxed to our building supervisor in advance of the delivery. We were told to expect our furniture within 7 days of the first available date we provided. We provided that Tuesday, June 19 as our first available date. We were also told that we would be given 24-48 hours notice of the delivery window. I received a call from the driver on Wednesday, June 20 at 12ish that our delivery would be the following day between 8 and 10am. This wasn't 24 hours notice and as we were still in DC, it made it extra challenging, but we were able to be at the NYC place to accept the delivery the next day. Two movers arrived our place, which is a high rise apartment on the 6th floor, at 8:45am. Although I didn't find them to be as courteous and professional as the movers on the DC end (complaining about the parking, insisting that if they received a parking ticket I would have to pay for it), they did deliver the furniture quickly (90 minutes) and safely (one scratch on the leg of my desk, which may have been there before). I would note that MOVERS USA only moved furniture, no boxes. When I went to sign the paperwork upon receipt of all furniture in NYC, I'm glad that we didn't choose for the company to move boxes. I saw some in the back of their truck and they looked like they had seen better days. I would advise future customers to only use boxes if the contents are not breakable or highly valued. All in all, I was really pleased with the company and would recommend them to others. When we move in the future, I will definitely use them again.

I contacted the company for a quote based on positive Angie's List reviews. The on-site estimate was performed and the price seemed fair, so we decided to move forward with a contract. We also purchased full-value insurance for all of our belongings, which involved some paperwork which was relatively tedious to fill out but worth it for peace of mind. Throughout the pre-move process, I dealt mainly with Gil, who was excellent in responding to questions and addressing any concerns I had. He made me feel confident that the move would go well. On moving day, our team leader was Jose, who was very nice and went right to work along with his three team members. I did notice that the movers would sometimes appear to be just "sitting around" by the truck in between tasks, but I'm pretty sure this happened mostly when Jose was walking around and creating an inventory list of all items to be loaded onto the truck, which would explain why nothing was being moved yet. Toward the afternoon, there was some concern that all our stuff might not fit onto one truck (Gil had alerted me of this possibility and asked if we would allow them to bring our belongings in two smaller trucks -- we have a large outdoor playset, grill and other items we didn't need right away, so we were fine with that delivery coming later if necessary). However, this ended up being no problem -- Jose simply made a phone call and another truck showed up soon thereafter to load our remaining items. After everything had been loaded, our estimate turned out to be exactly right in terms of cubic feet, so I give a lot of credit to the on-site estimator for a good job. Following our move-out, I kept in touch with the company regarding the estimated delivery date. Gil advised me that they were able to secure a semi truck to consolidate all of our items, so that we would be receiving everything at once. The driver, Rave (who also goes by Ray) contacted me after that and communicated with me daily regarding his estimated arrival. He arrived with a team of three movers on June 18, five days after our move-out. Rave was friendly but also professional -- he wanted to get our move-in completed and was very good about making sure we were satisfied with how things were going. It was a challenging day because of the extreme heat outside; we provided cold drinks and food for the team, and were concerned a few times because a couple of the movers appeared to be feeling unwell. Though the team of movers was extremely nice and did a great job, it was clear that some of them were less experienced than others. Overall, though, they did a wonderful job and we were very happy with the results.
Description of Work: We hired Movers USA to move our family from the Baltimore area to Wisconsin. In addition to the move itself, we paid them to pack up our kitchen and all wall hangings/art in our home. They were able to accomplish everything (packing up and moving everything into the truck) on the same day. They arrived around 9 AM and were finished around 6 PM, so it was a full day but everything got done.

Gil was great to deal with. He walked us through the initial process and gave us a great rate based on Angie's List membership. He even threw in several closet boxes and called to check up on progress midway. Three men arrived on time and began the move. I documented every box and was able to account for them all when we got to the new home. Everything was intact (except for 1 wine glass, though that's probably more to do with our packing job). My only additional observation was that I think this took longer than it needed to. A 2 bedroom move with 3 men (and some of my help) to a home 15-20 minutes away probably shouldn't take 8+ hours (particularly when they and every other service anticipated 4-6 hours). To be clear - they were really nice guys and responsive, but I did observe them sauntering bit. I definitely understand that this is a labor-intensive job and exhausting, but every minute they're not hauling or quickly returning adds to the cost for me. Anyway, that is my only complaint, and probably something that can be clarified up front. The more important factor is that our things were moved safely. Given that, their competitive price, and their friendliness and responsiveness, I would recommend them and use them again.

company never email me the estimate and the estimate that I recieved over the phone was extremely low so I figure you get what you pay for with this company. NOT MUCH.
Description of Work: Called company on a Friday for an estimate and they said that they would email me the estimate. The following Wednesday they left me a voice message to call. I returned the call and left a message then I called again when I got home. I was asked if I had received their email and replied NO. My last name is unusual and I always spell it out for anyone that I am contacting for an estimate. When he read me what he had used for my name he added a letter to my last name. I tried to tell him to just remove the letter but instead he deleted my name from the "to" field and wanted me to give it to him. I refused and said if he was not competent enougy to get my name right originally I would go with another company.

Firm had good contract documents. Was able to complete online form for estimate. Received Estimate promptly. Movers arrived promptly and were careful with all items. I only wish they had prepared a info pack for me to be more infomed about what they would and wouldn't take. I expected them not to take clothes, but I didn't realize they wouldn't take bags. I understand the risk, though there might have been a waiver for that.

We gathered estimates from several companies and Movers USA turned out to be the cheapest option of the groups we contacted. The estimate provided by Movers USA was almost $400 less than the next lowest estimate and $700 less than the top estimate we were provided. Movers USA estimated a 6 hour job for the move, others varied from 6.5 to 8 hours. We were provided a start time between 8 and 10am. They arrived about 10 minutes before 8am to go through the paperwork and review the job and started work and loading almost right at 8am. Four movers worked diligently to load everything and they took care to lay down mats where feasible to protect the carpet since it had rained the night before. All furniture was well wrapped, we self-packed all small items. The only issue on the packing issue was that we were to be provided a few wardrobe boxes for packing our hanging items, but they did not have the hanging bars for the boxes on the truck so we opted to take them over separately (local move so not a big issue for us). Packing took about 3 hours to complete and the movers took a short lunch before unloading our stuff at the new home around noon. Everything was completed in the 6 hours they estimated and nothing was broken. The only damage we found was minor, a small dirt stain on one of our couch cushions. Overall we were very happy with the process and felt we got a great value! In the past we have been weary of going with the lowest bidder, but this really worked out great for us. A manager followed up with us near the end of the move to ask how the move went and if there was anything else they could do.
