Description of Work: Pete, Hank, Abner and the rest of the ACS team designed and built a three season garden room addition on the back of our house. Now that we have enjoyed the room for a full year since its completion, we are even more pleased with both the design and construction. We would not hesitate to work with ACS on any future home building or renovation projects. A job very well done!

Description of Work: We needed to have some structural work done after hurricane Sandy, which included mold remediation. The general contractor returned my call promptly and came for an initial visit. He seemed knowledgable and experienced, and his rough estimate for the cost of the work seemed within the order of magnitude I was thinking. He even offered to help me get a consult with a public insurance adjuster to help me try and get my insurance company to cover more of the damage that occurred. Needless to say, the public adjuster didn't pan out (though I don't hold that against this company at all). What was frustrating was that I made several attempts to get a formal quote from this company, and on 3 separate occasions, the contractor cancelled our meeting day of. Each time with a seemingly valid excuse, but still it became clear to me that this wasn't happening. On the final attempt, the contractor insinuated that he may be leaving the business due to medical concerns. I certainly wish him the best and as fast a recovery as possible! But as for using this company as a general contractor, I wouldn't recommend it. They seem to honest enough and appeared to be experienced (though I can't be positive on that) but they never left me with a good feeling that they could (or even intended to) complete the work I needed.

Description of Work: I just contacted them for an estimate to submit to my home warranty provider. my home warranty provider is still researching the claim i submitted.

Description of Work: Pena Associates performed numerous major repairs to the house, including roof repair, flashing and caulking, replaced all outside trim, excavation for waterproofing involving removing and replacing a large enclosed deck, interior repairs, drywall, painting to name only some. It was particularly great to have a single knowledgeable point of contact for all the various trades rather than dealing with numerous companies.

Description of Work: A trim piece detached from the house during a wind storm and required repair.

Description of Work: We had a woodpecker making holes in our wood siding. Pena came out and examined the damage and found the woodpecker was feasting on bugs, which were eating the rotting wood from water damage to our wood siding. Pena removed all damaged wood, put in insulation (previously missing), treated the new wood they installed with insect repellant, arranged for a pest consultation, got rid of a nest of bees living in the wood siding, installed a waterproof wrap, brought our wall up to code, purchased a sliding glass door for us and installed it (we were going to put a deck on next year anyway) and installed olive green vinyl siding to keep us up to Columbia (Homeowners) Association standards. They were thorough, efficient, friendly and respectful. We would highly recommend this company for any home improvement/carpentry job.
