I made the call on a Friday morning and someone came out that afternoon to access the job. I had received other quotes but felt more comfortable with someone actually seeing what we had to move. There was also a sectional we were concerned about, given the difficulty we had with moving it into the condo. On the day of the move, we received a call 30 minutes before their arrival. The crew did a walk through and the work began. Everything went as well as expected. Using the stairs, they even got the sectional out of the condo without incident. We made the stop in Falls Church and proceeded to Alexandria. It was after 3:00 p.m. when we left Falls Church and the afternoon commute had begun. The move went just a little over the estimated time. Traffic may have played a part in this. We were all moved in by 7:00 p.m. The crew was efficient, courteous and professional. Everything was placed in its appropriate place, including the clumsy sectional. Nothing appears to have been broken. We were very pleased with Olympia Moving & Storage. We hope never to move again but if we do, we would definitely use Olympia Moving & Storage.

They were on time and asked appropriate questions such as what was being loaded. They told me and my brother how they were loading items in the truck. Sadly, it was unbalanced and my brother had to drive 5 days with a listing, unbalanced truck. Also, one third of my furniture was broken or damaged. This includes a collectible I inherited. The furniture was not wrapped well in spite of the fact that there were more than enough furniture blankets. For some reason, they did not wrap my dining room chairs and shoved them into areas where there was room. They are marred and need paint. A good art deco clothes chest was scratched badly. They asked to borrow a mallet and did not return it. Finally, they damaged the condo door frame.

The estimate was very inaccurate. And after the move, I talked to the sales manager, about the estimate, and they offered to give me some of the money back. Still charged more than the estimate. They were there on time. They did good service. They didn't miss anything, or damage anything.

This is the second time I have used Olympia for a household move. The first time was approx. 4 years ago. There were two different crews and both were very hardworking, professional, polite, thorough, efficient, you name it. I couldn't be happier with their service, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Their trucks and pads were clean, wrapping of delicate items was thorough, nothing was broken, dropped, etc. I did some price comparison both times. Their rates seem to be at or near market, but the quality of the experience makes them a very strong value. I have moved 5 times and also helped parents use professional movers, so I feel like I have a reasonable basis of comparison. These guys were by far the best movers I have had. If I move again, I won't hesitate to hire Olympia again and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

They were excellent. They were very professional. It was a tough move. They experienced some truck issues and had to unload and load again so they could get my furniture to my apartment. They were just as polite and cool about the whole move.

They gave us a 2 week window for when her belongings would be delived. They showed up the very first day of that 2 week window! They unpacked all of her belongings and put everything exactly where she wanted them. They also repaired a damaged sofa leg for her that was broken 2 years prior. They worked very quickly, and kept the noise level down so as not to disturb her new neighbors. They took away unwanted trash, were timely and efficient.

The cost was supposed to be less per there vice president. They sent 3 men on a truck that was to small. I called them to let them know and they said that was the only truck they had left. They finally sent another truck out with one person. That gentleman loaded some of the stuff that he was supposed to load. I had to leave the house unlocked and he went to pick the items up and he brought them to my home. I asked him how he moved the furniture by himself and he said that is what movers are trained to do. He moved a 42" flat screen TV in a wooden crate by himself. He moved a wrought iron patio set by himself and a propane tank still attached to the grill. The movers that were at my home originally had to stay and help the guy unload the items late and that is where the additional cost came in. When I mentioned the increase in price they said they thought they were being fair with not charging for the second truck which was their fault for sending to small of a truck in the first place. They left a crate behind that had a special insert in it for art work. I had to have that disposed of because I could not move it to my new home due to that size. The vice president said they would build a crate to that dimension and replace it and I have not heard from them again. The three guys who came out to move originally were the best moving crew I have seen in light of all this. They knew what they were doing and had they had an adequate sized truck everything would have been fine.

I have moved MANY times -- domestic & overseas -- and this is probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had!!! Initially, the sale rep was quick to respond to my Angies List inquiry & set up a visit. He was quick to email quotes. I got several quotes & liked him and the profile of his company; so we selected Olympia. Scheduling my pick up date was easy & their location in Alexandria when I picked up boxes was clean & neat & everyone was friendly..... so far, so good, right? .I knew I had alot of heavy things & stairs etc (again, this wasn't my first rodeo, you know) so I was pretty insistent that I needed more than two guys & I was told that I would get three guys. Pick up day came & TWO guys showed up -- the driver & one other guy. I was told the third guy was on his way -- and he did show up an hour or more later.When the driver opened his (80 ft) hauler, it was 75% full of other people's belongings. I told him there was NO WAY that all my belongings were going to fit in there (again, not my first time doing this). He was "positive" he could get it all in there. Well, three hours and alot of juggling later, 25% of my household goods were still in my house & garage & yard. And my husband & I still had to get out of town. So they called for another vehicle to pick up the remainder of my household goods and I (on the fly) had to pick out what I didn't want to get delivered right away because I was told that they had no estimate of when this second shipment would reach my new destination. One week later, delivery day comes & (again) two guys. Almost another week passes before my 2nd delivery... now almost 14 days since my initial p/u day.... two items were missing & one item was damaged... so now I have to go thru the claims process. Thru all this, I was making (almost) continuous phone calls to Olympia -- and most times had to leave message after message before someone would call me back. They seldom offered even an apology for the inconveniences. Again, I am a seasoned mover -- I kinda knew what was required; if they had even listened to me from the beginning, things would have gone smoother. If they had been more responsive to my phone calls, I would feel better.

They did an excellent job. I was very happy with them.

I found them on Angies List. They did a great job. Dan was the guy who was the contact. He did the estimating and all that stuff. Dan was the estimator. She had three shipments. One went to Maine, one went to California, and one went to Kentucky. The one that went to Kentucky his name was Chuck and he was terrific and he did a great job on both ends. He did a wonderful. We bided out with four other companies and checked all the reviews and after reading some of the reviews, talked about them to all of them and then decided to go with them. As for quality, the driver that came to Maine and Kentucky were excellent while the one that came to California was medium. He was in a hurry. Chuck the driver was excellent. I will them again.

Everything went well. I did not use them and I ended up going with somebody I felt a little more comfortable with. There is a level of comfort that you have with a moving company and I just felt better with the woman who came out and gave me the estimate from the other company. It is possible that Olympia may have done a great job but I don't know since I didn't use them. I had taken three estimates from companies that I found on Angie's List. All the people that I used gave me quick, fast estimates within a day or two. They seemed very professional to me.

First off, they worked with us on our schedule and met our needs. They were on time. They checked in two days before to confirm schedule. They were professional and courteous and were clearly there to help us in any way they could. The truck driver was wonderful and gave us the time he planned on arriving to the destination and even gave me his cell phone so I could communicate as needed. They arrived on time and did a superb job of unloading in Kansas, setting up the bed and other items that may have needed to be assembled. All staff were fluent in english and I was able to communicate beautifully with them. They gave me an estimate, but the actual cost came in less. And in no event would it have exceeded the estimate unless I drastically changed the scope of the move. This is the way they have always worked and it's so much better than other companies who have gone over in their estimates. I like knowing my maximum liability. Always. I have used them before for clients of mine (I am a realtor) and was impressed, but this i the first time I was able to use them for my own personal needs. Highly recommend them!

Top quality service from their front office to the men who loaded and moved my goods. Everyone was professional, friendly and a real pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Town and Country Moving.

Overall the move was satisfactory in that all items arrived at the destination in tact. However, it could have been smoother in that there was some language difficulties and the movers themselves didn't seem to have all the necessary information such as addresses and phone numbers. The movers themselves were quite cooperative and tried to please.

The movers arrived on time with a truck that was too small and had someone elses supplies in the back of the truck. Therefore, it took them more than one trip to move all my items when it was supposed to be all in one trip. The movers broke a couple of items but didn't tell me. I had to bring it to their attention and then their response was "oh yea...". I had told them the sofa could not fit through the front door unless they took the legs off because that was what the store movers had to do when I had purchased it 3 months ago. They ignored what I said and jammed the sofa through the door, rubbing off fabric from a corner of the sofa onto the ceiling and ripping the other side along the ground. They didn't point that out to me either until it was moved to the new place and I had inspected it and brought it to their attention. Very unprofessional! I had to play phone tag with the customer rep and do my own follow up with them instead of them taking the initiative to call me. They gave me the minimum refund for the sofa claim and I was reimbursed approximately $100 for the mixup with the truck rental. Moving is a stressful experience and a moving company should do whatever they can to reduce the stress by having reliable movers and good follow through. I wouldn't recommend this company and I should have gone with the other mover who I had talked to before this one.

The company was extremely flexible with scheduling. The city had not blocked off the street as I requested for my first move date and I had to send the movers away. There was no problem rescheduling and no charge! The crew was very friendly and efficient. A couple of things got damaged but nothing that couldn't be fixed or replaced. The account manager was great. He even delivered some extra boxes to my house himself!

They were great! Very professional, punctual, and organized. There was no damage to any of my furniture and all of my stuff was there. The storage fee was very cheap (I think $100/month) and there were no problems. I'm very happy with this company.

Olympic made promises to me and did not follow through. They did not tell me that after they picked up my furniture it was going to sit and wait until a truck left the area almost a week later. The cross-country move took several days longer than I was told it would take. I was not given a copy of the bill of lading or any other documents. Also, the auto transport they scheduled did not show up and never told me it was going to be several days late. I had to scramble to locate and book with a new company at the last minute. Olympic is ok for a local move (I used them about a year ago), but they do not have their act together for a longer move. When problems arose with the major van lines, Olympic was useless. Very unprofessional, did not return calls, etc. I cannot recommend them.

The movers were a little sloppy and soiled (got it dirty) some of my furniture when they were moving it. They were very responsive and otherwise good.

They were very positive. They were responsive and flexible in the dates and ended up picking up one day and delivering in Philly the next. Despite a hellish 2 or 3-floor climb, they did minor damage (to one old lamp, also dinged a tall bookcase). They were professional compared to other movers Ive dealt with, although the ultimate price came in slightly over the estimate ($2808 vs. $2497).

It was a very positive move for both moves. They were very careful wrapping items that I asked them to wrap, like pictures, and no items that I packed were broke. They were very patient and efficient on the unloading side in moving items to the correct areas. Positive sales experience as well, where I received prompt email quotes, and also received confirmation calls before the move. They were actually early for the moves.
