Description of Work: I hired them to demo about 4 feet of my crooked chimney and re-build it as well as install a new flue all the way to the boiler. Their price was very good. The quality of the brick work was very good. They made a mistake with the flue and had to correct it. The flue end in the boiler room was not pitched correctly creating it to slop up and down. When I called them to notify them they sent a new guy out to come take a look who did confirm it was pitched wrong. So they had to make a new appointment to have the correction made. So all in all it was well down and clean and very professional. I do think it's the best that the pitch was off. It could have been very dangerous if it were not noticed so I would watch that but they were very apologetic and discounted the work for my trouble of having to come out a few times more. That said I would totally hire them again because they were very quick and professional. Mistakes happen.

Description of Work: I bought a Chimney Cleaning and Inspection Big Deal. When the two workers arrived, they did not put "booties" on their shoes, but prepared the area for cleaning. They performed the services, cleaned up afterward, recommended a new flue liner, and gave me a written estimate. I questioned the need for a new liner and called the manager, regarding this matter. A second representative visited my home; he confirmed the need and the estimate. I wanted an opinion from a different company and contacted another firm on Angie's List. That company provided a free inspection and performed a video scope of the chimney. The technician explained what I was viewing and showed me the problems. He described two options for flue liners and gave me an estimate. I hired that second company to replace the flue liner. Their work was excellent, and I plan to use them again.

Description of Work: They repointed the rear wall of my Dc rowhome. The crew did a great job and worked very quickly. They even came back and fixed a few minor problems for no charge. I'd use them again.

Description of Work: The company cleaned and inspected chimney, tuckpointed the firebox, and installed a raincap/animal guard. Technician did not use a boroscope but otherwise seemed to perform a reasonable visual inspection both inside the house and on the roof. Masonry repairs look good.

Description of Work: Good work. Scheduling could use some improvement. A week out, advised that they would call the day before to give me the window. Presume that meant that the entire day needed to be set aside until notified of the window . . . Most people can't set aside an entire day until the day before. | |Schedule tightening would be helpful and client-friendly.

Description of Work: They inspected and cleaned the chimney. We had purchased our home several months prior at which time our home inspector recommended we get the chimney inspected and cleaned by an expert before building a fire. They appear to have done a thorough job cleaning the chimney and were tidy in their methods. | |The only con was that aside from the work we'd scheduled (inspection and cleaning) the person sent to do the work spent a lot of time selling and writing up estimates for about $4K of optional work--some of which might be good for maintenance down the road (repairing spalding bricks) but some of which seemed unnecessary (replacing our old style liner with a fancy new stainless steel one even though ours works fine). My husband finally just had to ask and clarify if it would be safe to build a fire without getting the additional work done to which they eventually said yes. That said we were not completely surprised by the heavy sales pitch because we'd purchased an Angie's List deal, which we were assuming the company offered to get their foot in the door to get additional business.

Description of Work: The gentleman who have the free estimate have me a reasonable quote for re-doing the drainage system along the back wall of the house. My issue was that his solution would not have solved our water problem. We needed a new sump pump, new drainage system, a drain installed outside of the side door, and we needed some structural damage to the side door fixed. We went with another company instead.
