Description of Work: Responded to my repeated e-mails saying that one of their workers would call me the next day to set up an appt., but no one ever called for weeks! The ONLY REASON they called me back a month later was because one of them happened to be in our neighborhood. I guess some other sucker used them. Waste of time!

Description of Work: American Prof. Chimney replaced a chimney cap last summer (June 2013) for my furnace chimney. The old chimney cap had detached and flown off the chimney during a storm. They replaced the cap in a very timely fashion. |After the winter, however, I realized after a service and maintenance for the furnace that water had leaked into the furnace from the chimney, going down the ductwork, and damaging the furnace. This will cost several hundred dollars to replace the ductwork and replace two "caps ?" on the furnace which became corroded by the water. There was no leaking before the chimney cap was replaced. |When I called the company about the problem, they did return promptly. I was told that caulking was necessary - which they did. I was also told that a metal belt is needed around the cap - which will cost $75. They take no responsibility for the leaking. They told me that the cap is fine. I have called several times to speak with a manager or supervisor, and have left messages. I have been told at least 3 times that someone will call me back but no one has ever called. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with their service. |I think that they did a poor job of replacing the chimney cap. While the cap is fine it was obviously not installed properly. They should have made sure that the cap was securely attached to the chimney so that it would not leak.

Description of Work: I have used this service for four (4) years and I am very satisfied with their service. I would wholeheartedly recommend them without any reservation! I will continue to use them as long as I live in the area. Extremely satisfied!!!

Description of Work: Scraped and ground out silicone sealant put on incorrectly and improperly by the roofer; tuck pointed cracked mortar joints; sealed and water protected entire chimney and cap. Project took about 3 hours, went very well, and I am very pleased. They even matched the color of the existing mortar. I did have to insist several times that they cover my new roof with plastic and tarps while they chipped away and ground out the sealant in the mortar joints that was put on by the roofer. The tuck pointer was really good and after he and the helper finished all the work, they hosed off my new roof to remove any debris. My estimator came back after the job was all done and checked to make sure it was done properly and completely. Great job all around. The roofer had given me an estimate 4x what American Pro Chimney charged and was not even using the correct materials. I would use American Pro again any time and I am glad I trusted them to do the job - thank you American Professional Chimney and Masonry!

However, the confirmation process via phone was a bit challenging with the fill-in receptionist and her miscommunications with the serviceman. Once beyond that, the serviceman, Brian was wonderful. He was professional, efficient, and explained the inspection process and his outcome/findings. | |I will definitely recommend and use them again next year.

Description of Work: Did the chimney cleaning and inspection and gave an estimate for needed work. They weer nice and very easy to work with especially for scheduling. Getting the work done hasn't been at the top of our priority list but we'd certainly consider using them for the work when we get to it.

Description of Work: They cancelled on us after scheduling. We had only a limited window to do this as we were doing other remodeling in the house and did not want to risk a mess outside of that period. When we tried to get our money back, angie's list refused to repay us. So we are for sure done with these rip off 'big deals' of nothing.

Description of Work: I purchased the big deal for $99 chimney sweep and inspection. I was very pleased with them and they did a good job. When they were cleaning they found a lot of soot and they did a great job cleaning everything. They reassured me that everything was safe. I really liked them!

Description of Work: They removed and rebuilt the tops of two chimneys. They also installed a new liner in one chimney and converted the flue opening from the furnace and water heater. This required the use of scaffolding over a slate roof. The work took four days and the workers seemed to be quite competent.

Description of Work: Resurfaced cracked crown with latex acrylic membrane; cut out and replaced oversized bricks with similar available brick with use of scaffolding above roof line. Searched several sources for replacement bricks in two states over two days ; applied couple of coatings of industrial grade water repellant.
