Description of Work: They came in and did a cleaning and also evaluated the chimney liner. The cleaning was easy (apparently had been cleaned by the last tenants) and they noted the chimney needed repair. That is really an issue for the landlord now, but glad they told us, since it was a fire and safety hazard if we were to use it.

Description of Work: APC&M performed a chimney/fireplace inspection at my house (currently rented)in Vienna, VA (Fairfax County). My tenants were present, so what I know is from their account of the service in early November, and my follow up conversation with APC&M earlier today (December 2). Inspection obviously was thorough, but no repairs could be made because of the extensive nature of the problems (which I learned about today). APC&M did tell my tenants not to use the fireplace until it is repaired, and that's good, because the repairs will be costly and I can't afford them right now. Only issue with APC&M was that they told my tenants they would follow up with me directly regarding the nature/cost of the recommended repairs, and they did not--I had to contact them. However, they seemed knowledgeable and frank about the problems and cost, so when I'm ready to spend the $, I probably will have them do the work.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List special for fireplace & chimney (liner?) cleaning and inspection. Great communication from the office. After purchasing the special, the company promptly provided an appt date. They called the day prior to the appt date and gave me a window of time in which the techncian would arrive. On the appt day they called and asked if it would be OK if the technician arrived earlier than scheduled. The technician arrived, was very professional, introduced himself and his co-worked and immediately got to work. They took care to keep the area around the fireplace clean and protected. The cleaning and inspection (inside and out) seemed to go smoothly. They found one minor issue, a crack in one of the floor pieces, that they said would need addressing within the next few years. Otherwise, they said, the liner and cap were both fine and it was safe to have fires in our fireplace. Great service and would recommend.

Description of Work: Installed stainless steel chimney liner in old masonry chimney, in the flue used for a water heater. Old flue was siamesed with the flue for a no longer used boiler. Unlined masonry flue was a carbon monoxide risk. Work was done well.

Description of Work: Repaired chimney. Bricks were falling, top crown had to be replaced and it needed to be pointed-up all over. They then sealed it to prevent water absorption.

Description of Work: Replaced chase cover and chimney cap and did a chimney sweep. Great communication. I had a chimney sweep done first through an Angie's list deal. I knew I needed some chimney work done so I got a quote and had them do the job. The process was seamless.

Description of Work: Repaired a cracked chimney crown, installed flu extensions that should have been put in by another contractor when they relined the chimney and replaced several courses of brick on one side of the chimney at the top and repointed the entire chimney. The 2 members of the rebuild team (Oscar and team mate) did excellent work.
