Description of Work: He did a good job on the service, but scheduling it was a problem. I scheduled for a Saturday between 12:00 and 2:00. I received a call from the company telling me he was running late. At 3:30 or so, he called to reschedule to Sunday. He promised he would be there at noon. The company called to let me know he would be about 5-10 minutes late. He arrived at 1:15. I would never use them again. Not the technician's fault at all, he did a good job. The company is out of FL and they have no clue!

Description of Work: I purchased three big deal garage tune-ups from Precision for my three car garage. The appointment was made quickly and easily and the two men arrived as promised. It turns out that my garage doors were in fairly good working order and only one minor adjustment was needed along with lubrication of the moving parts. (The offer included new rollers or an auto open/close box for each door which I did not need or want). The man who performed the service seemed very nice. The other man, the sales man however, was there to sell me. He was very sleazy. He said, and I quote: "there is always a catch to the big deal, mam, we offer that deal to get into your garage so that we can charge you for things that are not part of the deal." My husband almost told him to leave on the spot as we were worried they would break something and then claim it needed repair. I would not use them again.

Description of Work: One spring on the automatic garage door broke so we had two new springs installed. We were advised by Precision that we could go with only one if we wanted, but we chose to get both because the other one was old and most likely close to metal fatigue also. We had new rollers installed and general inspection for safety going forward using the Angie's list coupon. The door is about 30 years old and is now good as new.

Description of Work: Arrived right on time, serviced two electric garage doors, replaced worn rollers, and gave us good instructions on how to maintain the doors ourselves. Very straight forward.

Description of Work: Price was not explained to me on the phone, or by the service provider. I could not get my garage door to work. He spent approximately 1 minute, adjusted the blocked door sensor, and charged me $125.00. Rediculous!! Don't go there for service unless you know what you are going to be charged. Also, I was supposed to receive a 25 point safwety Inspection, but it was not performed. The technician said "it was not necessary."

He told me what was involved with the Angies Big Deal coupon but that my garage door mechanics/moving parts needed practically everything replaced. He quoted me a price that I thought was a bit steep and told me how long it would take. He promised me that it would work as if it were new and everything would run smooth. I thought it over in my head but not too long. I agreed to the overhaul and Alan finished on time if not sooner than stated and exceeded his promise of making it like new. He told me the motor of the garage door was fine and he didn't suggest that I would need to buy a new one. When I asked him about installing a keypad, he replied that my garage door opener is too old to match up with the newer keypads. All in all, well satisfied with the service provided.

Description of Work: When my garage door began to stall as it was closing, I bought the $149 tune up and multi-point inspection. When I scheduled the appointment, we were clear that there was an issue with the over-all functioning and that our hope was that, following the tune-up we would either have a garage door that worked better, or at least some insight from the inspection to indicate what was amiss. The service was easy to schedule and the technician was fairly prompt. For the next 48 hours things seemed to be working well. Then our garage door quit working once more. When I called the company to ask for assistance, I was initially told that there would be another service fee for sending someone out, in spite of the guarantee we were given about the inspection and tune up. With some debate, they agreed to wave the service fee. When the technician returned, he made an adjustment to the tension and told us that if the problem continued we would have no choice but to replace the garage door. He quoted us around $450. For two more days the garage door worked fine, then it began stalling once more. We decided to price garage doors at Sears, where we were able to purchase a solid belt-drive system from Craftsman, with installation, for under $300. We were happy to do that, but imagine our surprise when the installer arrived and looked at our current system and told us that it was perfectly OK. He made a different adjustment, taught us that sometimes the chain-drive systems simply jump gears and need to be fixed. Had we been given the same information and service when the Precision technician had been over it, our problems would have been taken care of much sooner. We ended up saving a fortune (Sears tech didn't even charge us for the minor adjustment) and we've waited for the past month to see if the problem reemerges, but everything has been perfect. So, in spite of being 100 percent clear about what our problem was, our tech did not appear to look into it or fix it.

Description of Work: After agreeing to repair my garage door for a set price, the company sent a technician to perform the work. The technician arrived, disputed that I had reached the pricing arrangement. He checked his email and then realized that the price $388 was already listed in there. He then refused to perform the work because the price was wrong. He ranted about the company, how it sells his commissions out from under him, and forces him to work overtime without overtime pay. He became irate and threatened me and stated, "I know where you live." He drove his truck screeching down the alley where children were playing. While doing so, he hit a trash can and barely missed hitting a child- his van came inches from the child's foot. The child was visibly shaken and is still upset.
