Description of Work: When the tech arrived he looked at my garage door and we spoke about a board that could use replacing, the tech said I could save by replacing the board myself. I then asked him how much it would cost to replace my springs on the garage door, and he indicated it would be around $550.00, although the coupon clearly states any additional work will receive a 10% discount, he never mentioned the discount. Once I said I did not have an additional $550.00 to do replace the springs, he informed me he would not be able to do the tune-up on the garage door and replace the rollers (as stated in the coupon) until I replaced the springs. The springs were not a part of the garage door opener, and are a part of the garage door. In essence, I was forced to spend an additional $550.00 worth of service to receive a $$149.00 tune-up. I might add, my garage door is is in working condition and has been used several times today since the technician was here. Although the springs could be replaced, their condition was not causing the garage door opener to not work. If I had known there would have been this type of scrutiny, I would not have purchased the coupon and taken off a half day of work.

He called in route to talk about the problem and to say the coupon could not be used on this service call, I was very uncomfortable that he wanted to diagnosis the trouble from his vehicle on the phone. I felt that he was very pushy-rushy from the start. He repaired the door and said the charge is $$$$$, please make the check out to Precision Garage. I asked if I could use a credit card, he said yes...I just need to get the numbers off the card. I just wrote a check for the service. Through the entire transaction I just felt like I was the last call of the day and he was ready to finish. He lacked good customer skills. The company did give me a timely appointment ..within a day of my calling

Description of Work: Lubricated the garage doors, checked working parts and tested doors. Came on time, very polite and explained everything he was servicing and why. Would definitely use again.

Description of Work: We purchased a $99.00 Big Deal for inspection/tune-up of our garage door. They arrived on time and were very professional. The door was approximately 12 years old and had never been inspected. They explained what they had done and recommended future oiling and showed us where/how to do this. Several months ago (late 2012/early 2013), we had occasion to call them again. It appears that the spring broke and the door would not raise. They gave us an appointment within 48 hours and replaced the damaged spring in approximately 1 hour. Rates are very reasonable, and of course with an Angie's List discount. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Description of Work: The service was to adjust my garage door opener. When I made the appointment I stated that I simply wanted them to adjust the opener to my new car. When the technician arrived, he said that he couldn't adjust the opener, that it would be a separate service call. He charged me an additional $25 service fee and then said that he couldn't adjust the opener so he sold me a universal opener for an additional $90. I wish they had told me up front that this wouldn't be covered. I would simply have gotten a new opener.

When I called to schedule an appointment I was told they did not honor the big deal at their franchise. They would, however, schedule a regular service call. There are many other garage door companies to choose from so don’t pick Precision Garage Door.

Description of Work: Garage door tune-up and ultra quiet roller service was scheduled quickly and service quality was excellent. I liked that they sent an email with a name and photo identifying the service technician and kept me updated with arrival time.

Description of Work: "I called for an appointment on a Wednesday and Darren came out that Saturday. While he was servicing my garage door, he discovered a problem. That Monday he ordered the part, but he forgot to call me. I called two weeks later and he admitted his mistake. In compensation for the delay, he did not charge for the part. Their response to the mistake was very generous and their chagrin was genuine. I will use them again when I need any service on my garage door. "

Description of Work: Garage door was very loud and didnt go up and down very easily. There was a broken spring that needed to be replaced as well as some other parts. I knew this would require more than the maintenance deal that I bought and the additional repairs were done in a very professional and high quality fashion. The door is working better than it has in a long long time!

Description of Work: My only gripe is that it took 3 visits to get the job done correctly, It seemed that there was a reluctance to change the laser eyes on the first and second calls when it was apparent that the eyes were the problem. I liked the technician and the company. Still don't understand why it took 3 calls to finally get things resolved.
