Description of Work: This was a Big Deal for a garage door tune up. We had scheduled this and I gave them my address. They said they would send someone out to service me. On the third call, they called to say they could not come, then when I mentioned the Big Deal I had purchased they said they do not honor this deal.

Description of Work: They installed a new garage door opener. Price reflects the opener and labor. Checked springs and oiled moving parts. The old door was unbalanced. The new opener is working great! I love the new feature to set a timer on the overhead light so it doesn’t remain on for too long.

Description of Work: Derrick came out and did the tuneup on my garage door, replaced the rollers and checked the outside keyless entry pad to make it was working. I had him out again 2 days later to replace the rubber on bottom of door. I was very pleased with his work.

Description of Work: Scheduled the Visit for a Friday Afternoon with the company's call center at 9am. Service provider did not show up. Called company and they informed me they were running behind do the hot weather. I understood but I unfortunately had plans for the afternoon so rescheduled the visit for the following day. Service provider came to house and looked at my older garage door and advised me to use the company I used Prior to repair the "other" side. He also advised me to get a newer garage door and told me that he could get someone out to give me a quote and he wouldn't waste his money on fixing an older garage door when it needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, I am not in the market for paying for a new garage door on my fixer-upper house. I have other things on my to-do list. I simply wanted mine repaired for the time being. He said it was not part of the package deal. My garage door is currently working fine but needs the cable to be repaired on one side. I would have been willing to pay extra as I had already done this on the opposite side. Service provider indicated that I would be better off repairing the cable myself. Garage opener is working fine and garage door is working fine. Service provider did not want work on an older garage door, and said it would be a waste of my money. He simply stated that I need a new garage door. He left me with no other option than to choose a different company for now and request a refund from angie's list. He stated that he was trying to save me money. He was not able to provide the service for the "Big Deal."

Description of Work: I called because I had purchased the coupon. They informed me that they were not honoring Angies list right now. I asked for an appointment anyway and they quoted me the cost for coming to my house. They came on time and were great in checking out my door. I was interested in the coupon because it said Key Pad or replace wheels for free. I paid $89 for a key pad installed. My total payment was $214.00. I have had more trouble with Angies List. The web site has nowhere to go for refused coupons. I called the number from my credit card statement and told this entire experience to an angies list person (Incident Reference #130607-000746). I thought I was to be refunded from there and now I have to fill out this form and supply numbers and experience all over again.

Description of Work: The whole experience was very unprofessional to say the least and for the money I paid and the customer service I received from Allan, I will not use this company again. Allan, the technician, seemed very agitated by me asking a series of questions as an educated consumer. Before he started work, I wanted to understand what the scope of work included for $149. He first responded by saying "Do you have the Angie's list paper?" His attitude and response suggested that I should know what I bought and read to the paper. I had to tell him that the advertisement just says "$149.00 garage door tune-up plus a free key-less entry pad (or new rollers, your choice" Before he started work, I again, wanted to know what a "garage tune-up" entailed for $149. I also told him that I wanted to make sure that if there was additional work that was outside the scope of this promotion, I wanted to know about it. At first, he just responded by said I'm just checking and lubricating the doors. That's it" I knew that couldn't be try for $149. I had to tell him about the roller replacement or the keyless entry pad. After numerous questions and him becoming increasingly agitated, he finally showed be me the 25-point safety checklist. He claimed that he told me this information, but he didn't. My expectation is that Allan would first review what he was going to do, what was covered/not covered, then proceed with his job. When he first started conducting his analysis he stated " Your garage door is about to fall apart" This was a typical scare tactic. So while I was asking my questions to find out why my garage door was about to fall apart, he would interrupt me and ask that I do something (i.e. "can you open the garage door", or "can you get your garage door opener") which was very rude and unprofessional. He really wasn't trying to answer my question but wanted to move on with what he had to do. 10 minutes later, he stated "All your garage door needs is some tender, loving care. So, he began tuning up my garage. By the end of the service, he asked me to go get my receipt. Why - I'm not sure. He didn't review what was working well or what was not working well. All he wanted me to do is signed the contract. I had to ask him for his recommendations. He didn't offer this information. I asked him if I should replace the door and he said yes. I asked him what type of door and he gave me a website. I asked him if he could write it down on the recommendations section of the contract but he just spelled it out for me and again, seemed agitated. I had to ask him what the 1 year warranty included. Last, after testing the door, I asked him why one of the rollers was bent. Again, he got frustrated with me and said "If you want the hinges replaced it will be $25. Do you want the hinges replaced?" Unbelievable!! Overall, his professionalism was seriously lacking. This company needs to train their employees to be better equipped to answer questions for an inquiring consumer as well as remain a level of professionalism at all times. Hopefully, this company has other technicians that are better equipped than Allan.

Description of Work: I had 2 garage doors rebuilt and 2 openers installed. Total cost was about $2500. My technician was Alan. Overall I was very satisfied with their customer service, promptness, and quality of work. Of note was Alan. You could tell he took a lot of pride in his job and it showed on his work and attitude. I will recommend him to others and will call on Precision again for future needs.
