Description of Work: Nothing starts a weekend off quite like discovering you have a house repair situation (not quite an emergency). I was at work when I got a call from my cleaning service to tell me that my garage door would not close, despite several attempts. It was stuck mid-close. Not wanting to leave my house open to all, I rushed home from work and determined that one of the springs (or so I thought) had broken. Saturday morning, I went to Angies List and read through the reviews, not remembering which company had performed maintenance in the past. I called Precision, which had in fact serviced my garage door previously. They arrived later that afternoon and identified the specific problem that had caused the malfunction, a snapped cable connecting the spring to the door. But, in assessing the situation, the very helpful and obviously knowledgeable technician also pointed out that my garage door, which weighs several hundred pounds, was unbalanced, in part because the motor was installed off-center due to a light fixture in the center of the garage ceiling. This was causing excessive wear and tear on the motor. Lacking all of the required parts, Precision returned the following Monday and, within an hour, my garage door not only was functioning properly but operating so smoothly that my cats could not even hear the door opening and closing. By contrast, the door previously had sounded like the opening of inner sanctum. In summary, Precision responded the very day (a Saturday) to my call for service and performed the needed repairs quickly and professionally the next business day. I was not thrilled with the unexpected expense of nearly $1000, but it's always great to get what you hope you've paid for. That indeed is the case with Precision. I would use them again without hesitation (though hopefully not anytime soon) and would recommend them without question.

Description of Work: Barry, our technician, was on time and fully explained the garage repair before he started work. He provided me a range of options, and I ultimately chose a rebuild of springs, cables, and rollers for my door. Very professional and well done work. I gave price a "B" only because Barry explained to me that since I ordered a package deal from them I could not use the AL discount advertised on the site. He gave me the number of his supervisor to see if "there was some thing he could do for me". I called, but have not heard back from the supervisor.

Description of Work: This was an insurance claim. They came out and replaced molding, decorative frames around windows, and replaced key pad. They also noticed that a previous company didn't install a board straight so they fixed that without charge.

Description of Work: Garage door tune up. Everything went very well. I feel I may have overpaid in comparison to other companies, but I have not used any others and this company was really professional so the money was worth it.

Description of Work: The mechanic fine-tuned the garage doors and replaced some worn out parts. Barry, the mechanic, was excellent. He explained everything he was doing. He really knew his job and was pleasant, on time, and personable. Above all, Barry was a true professional.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal for $129 for a garage door tune-up plus a free key-less entry pad. It didn’t go so well. They couldn’t do what I wanted done.
