Call ahead to announce arrival time and arrived promptly at appointed time. Very professional. Told me what he was going to do and waht needed to be completed. Proceeded to complete the project in a timely and clean fashion. Very satisfied.

We bought the "Big Deal" coupon from Angie's List for a garage door tune-up, because our garage door had problems with the safety mechanism tripping while closing, due to excessive shaking. I called and scheduled a service appointment. This necessitated leaving work early, as the latest appointment time was 3 pm. The first appointment was cancelled by the company on the day the service was scheduled, due to some sort of issue with the technician. I rescheduled the appointment for the following week, again adjusting my work schedule accordingly. This time, I called the company on the scheduled day, just before the appointment time, to confirm that someone was coming. I was informed that, again, they had to reschedule, and they couldn't call me because their computers were down. At that point, I only rescheduled the appointment because I had already paid for the coupon! The technician finally ended up coming out the following afternoon, within the promised 1 hour window of time, and he called ahead. He was very professional. He did the work, which took about 15 minutes, and (not surprisingly) found about $2-300 of recommended additional work. We will hold off doing this, particularly since the door actually works better since the tune-up. If we end up having the work done, we will definitely use a different company.

Derrick showed up. He immediately went to work. He was very professional and he did a thorough job. He explained to me what he did and the items he replaced. He also suggested I get a silicone lubricant to use every couple of months for the garage door. He was done with the job in under a hour. He was very professional and I would use them again.

Service man called to confirm appointment and arrived on time. He performed the work as listed and even recommended using different bulbs in the opener. He was knowledgeable.

Great experience, quality work. They scheduled me within a week, and the service took about an hour and a half. New rollers and realigned door now works smoothly and quietly. Thanks to Alan for such a great job!

Precision Doors arrived within an hour of my call. They adjusted and lubricated both doors, then installed new rollers. The result was outstanding. The doors open and close smoothly and are nearly silent, now. The technician was quick and polite. A very positive experience!

The third time Alan, the service technician, said how terrified he was to be working on a garage door that didn't have safety cables on the springs I told him to stop working. At which point he stopped saying how terrified he was and finished replacing the rollers. Then he spayed a little something on the new rollers and on the hinges, gave me an estimate of $540 for all the work that he said needed to be done and left. He DID NOT "lubricate all moving parts" - the center guide and chain were never touched (or even looked at - though he did fail them on his report.. He DID NOT inspect the all the door components - the motor, guide and chain were never looked at. He couldn't have - he didn't even have a ladder with him (that I could see) - and I did offer him the use of my ladder, which he declined. I am not happy with the condition of the roller guides as he left them - he had to bend them to be able to remove and replace the rollers - and after he pounded them back 'into shape' they are not as well aligned as they were. For all his concern for safety, he did not put on safety goggles when hammering the guides back into shape. I realize a low-cost service offer, which this was, is, in part, going to be used to drum up additional business. But there should be a little more effort to do the work as advertised and I didn't see it. He pointed out a lose nut on one hinge - which he could have tightened down in a couple of seconds - but he did not. I ended up checking and tightening that and some other nuts after Alan left. I can believe an experienced person can 'inspect' everything visible just by looking at it. But, since he didn't have a ladder, I don't believe the motor and its assembly was 'inspected' - The 'Operator Motor' passed - without being looked at - because it ran? That's not what I consider an inspection. The 'Operator Boom/Trolly' failed - but I have no idea why - it was never mentioned when he was speaking to me and he didn't seem to ever give it any sort of inspection. This was a reschedule from a week earlier when, with a three hour window, they called at the end of the time period to say they were going to be at least another hour late. With the reschedule they managed to show up two hours into the three hour window. Not too good since I was told I would be first on the list because I was rescheduled and because my home is only a few miles from their office. I grant that the entire garage door is probably as old as the house (26 years) and the components probably do need to be replaced - but I want a professional assessment that sounds professional. That's not what it sounded like to me. So, overall, I feel that I got a minimum of work and a lot of 'you'll die if you don't replace these parts now" sales talk and I didn't appreciate that. 25SEP2011 UPDATE: The owner of Precision Garage Doors Inc contacted me after this review was posted to try to "make things right" and assure me that he would see to additional training for the technician so he would present his findings and concerns in a more professional way. I told him I did not want any refund or discount - the inspection was done (more or less) and the rollers replaced. I hope he will follow up as he said. I certainly never want to endanger anybody working on my property and would have accepted (with the assumption of a refund) if the technician had said it was too dangerous to do the work. I have not changed any of my original ratings or my original text - they are a fair reflection of my experience - but I think being contacted by the owner is a good sign and shows he cares about the reputation of his company and the quality of his employees.

When Alan arrived he said he was going to replace the rollers - before even looking at them. That was ok. I said one of the things mentioned in the ad for the tuneup was checking the "electronic opener." He said it was just to replace the rollers. I then printed out the ad. He just shook his head and said he had not seen that before. That was one of the things I wanted checked because our 2 garage door openers work intermittently. The opener is fairly new - less than 2 years. His response was "I can't work miracles." After he replaced the rollers I opened and closed the door while the paperwork was being prepared. It was quiter on the way down but still squeaky on the way up. I brought that to Alan's attention. He said he replaced the rollers and since the door was old he "couldn't work miracles." I asked if perhaps it needed lubrication where the metal from the rollers meets the metal on the door fitting. He said he didn't think so but he went ahead and sprayed that and the springs anyway. That helped. I looked at the paperwork briefly before he left and asked about the failing grades for the rollers, springs and door balance. He said the door is too heavy for the spring. The spring is less than 2 years old. We replaced the old one after it broke and were told at the time that the old one was not right for the door and this one would handle the load better. It is hard to know what to believe. The last thing, which my husband noticed after he left was that the box for control panel/remotes/keyless entry was checked as passed. None of these had been looked at.

We are thoroughly pleased with the services provided by Precision Garage Doors, and with the deal available through Angie's List. The appointment was scheduled within days of my call; Alan was courteous, efficient, and professional; the garage door works better than it has in quite some time; and the price couldn't be beat!

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for Garage Door Tune-Up. I purchased this deal not because I was having any problems but for 'preventitative maintenance' since my garage door was 10 years old. The complete tune-up took less than 15 minutes to perform. I watched the whole time and the only things that were done was replacing all the wheels and spraying lubricant on a half a dozen places. I asked him what things I could do to keep the door running well and it was like pulling teeth for him to reply saying I should apply lubricant in the same places that he did (I have no idea how often.) I think the work performed was worth the Angie's List Big Deal but it would not have been worth the original price. UPDATE TO ORIGINAL ANGIE'S LIST EXPERIENCE: After receiving a phone call from a very concerned president of the company asking if they could come back free of charge and look at my garage door again; I took him up on his offer. Derrick came back 9/20/2011 at my convenience. I was extremely pleased with my service. He spend time with every item on my 25-point safety checklist. He offered advice and answered questions as he serviced my garage door. I learned (not to my surprise because of the age of my garage door) that there were several items in the near future that I will need to take care of but explained that I didn't need to replace the high cycle springs, safety cables and single track bottom rubber now. He put in writing the prices of these items and told me that Angie's List members receive a 10% discount. When he was finished servicing my garage door it has NEVER BEEN SO QUIET - I was so happy when Derrick was done!

I purchased the Angie's list special for $99, which covered a Garage Door Tune Up as outlined above. I purchased two of these, at two separate times. The first visit was sometime in July or August, the second in September. Both times, I had Alan as my service technician. He was very prompt, efficient,and friendly. I would highly recommend him. Both times, he performed the work in less than 60-minutes. During the visit, he explained why the garage was making more noise, he replaced the knobs on the track and lubricated the track, and tested. Now the garage doors are quiet and not putting undue stress on the motor. He also advised of a concern with loose wire that may not have been properly installed. Since I am not in warranty for the repair, I will most likely use Precision Garage Door to address the issue. I have had two very positive experiences with the company in terms of timeliness, appointment availability, technican knowledge and level of professionalism. The Angie's list big deal is a great way to introduce yourself to a well run local company that seems to value their customers.

Overall, it went exactly the way I wanted it to.

They arrived punctually, explained in detail what they would do and why it would help. When I pointed out that the reason I called for the service had to do with noise and rough operation, they diagnosed the source of the problem as the pulleys and replaced them for both garage doors. It was evident that the diagnosis was correct and the doors operated smoothly and quietly as soon as they were done. They were quick, professional, and took the time to explain what they were doing and why.

I called Precision and was quickly able to set up an appointment for that coming Saturday. My large tension spring had broken in half along with two side pulley cables which prevented me from opening my garage by hand. Derrick showed up before the schedules appointment time and called ahead to say he was 15 minutes away. He quickly assessed the problem, gave me repair options (I went with a dual tension spring configuration) and went to work. He finished the job in about 30 minutes, explained the repair and was gone. Derrick did an excellent job and was extremely friendly and polite. I would highly recommend Precision to everyone needing garage door servicing.

Gentleman was extremely professional and did a good job of fixing the door. He was quite information. I was really struck by his professionalism. Through his repair I was able to save the garage door and save a lot of money in the process.

The work went very well. There were two guys that came out. They performed the maintenance work and changed the track. They went above and beyond because they were able to fix and straightened out the molding that covers the frame for the garage door. I would use them again and I would recommend them to neighbors.

This is my second rating for this provider. Allen at Precision did the initial repair to my garage door. He arrived later than expected and his work took longer than expected. Due to a previously scheduled appointment, I had to leave before he finished so left a friend to close out the initial service. When I returned home, I found that the door did not close completely, and I was overcharged, so I called Precision back. They sent Allen back to my home at a time that was convenient to me. He patiently worked on the door, making several adjustments, until it closed perfectly . He offered suggestions of ways to make the garage more energy efficient (vinyl trim around the sides) and user friendly (outdoor remote). He also assured me that if I had any problems in the future, as an Angie's list customer, he wanted to be sure I was satisfied, so I should not hesitate to call Precision. Thank you, Angie's List, and thank you Precision Doors.

My garage door "jumped" its track one evening. My next-door-neighbor (who gave me "Angie's List for Christmas) had decided to have her garage door serviced at the same time, so we called for a tandem appointment. She, too, was using an "Angie's List" coupon we found on-line. Derrick, the company representative, arrived right on time. He finished my neighbor's service in less than 30 minutes to her satisfaction, then began to work on mine. He patiently explained what he thought had happened to make it jump the track, and told me what he thought I needed to put it back in working order and to keep it that way. In the process, he remembered (where I hadn't, until he described in detail) that he had been here a few years ago (before I was an "Angie's List" member) to work on this same garage door. The job was completed, to my utter delight, in about half an hour. Despite being one of the hottest days of the year so far at the time, Derrick was meticulous, cheerful and polite. He tested my door while I watched, explaining how everything should work, and told me to call if I had any further problems. At no time during the entire process, did I feel pressured to agree to any service or product beyond what I originally needed. I was more than pleased with the service and the result. I would not hesitate to recommend Precision Garage Door, and especially Derrick, to anyone.

I was not very happy with the experience. I got a big deal, which was for $149. When the guy got here, he said the services that big deal offers were bunch of confusion. The person who walked in here had too much stuff in here, and he said he couldn't do anything. He mentioned about the charges for all the different things, and my bill covered only the service charge. I read the information, which talks about $20 deal. It was suppose to cover the rollers and some other stuff. The guy said those are included in $500 charge. I asked if he could give me credit for the big deal I got, and he said he couldn't give me that. He even charged me for the service call. He came an hour late. He said it would take 45 minutes. I had another appointment, which ended up taking him two hours. I had to leave him there with the neighbor, so I could go for the next appointment. It was a bad experience. I had to call him back again because door is not fixed properly.

I found them on Angie’s List. I spent too much for their services. It was around $120. I made the appointment with them and they didn’t show up on time. So, I called their office and they told me that they were on their way. They said that they would be on my driveway in the next 5 minutes. An hour later, they called me and said that they were somewhere else. They weren’t on time and they didn’t know what was going on. According to their new time changes, they were late every single time. When they arrived, they were not courteous and were unprofessional. The guy who came out told that he would take a look at my garage door and looked for hours. He said that the laser wasn’t adjusted correctly. So, he said that if the lights are green or yellow, then it needs an adjustment. So, he adjusted it manually. Then he asked me for a broom to remove all the cob webs out of the way. Then he asked me to try it and it worked fine. The remote garage door opener wasn’t working and I asked them if they had batteries. So, they said that they didn’t carry batteries. He tried opening it up with the screwdriver, but it didn’t open. So, he said that he would do it later. He was very unprofessional. The customer service was poor and insulting. I would never recommend him to anybody. It was $85 for adjusting the lights, which he did manually. From the time he got here till the time he was completed with the assessment along with my description of the issues, it wasn’t even few minutes before he went back to and gave me his bill. Then he charged me $40 for the service call. I would never use their services again.

They inspected the springs for me, and saw that there was something wrong with my 16 year old spring. The repaired the springs and they updated my keyless entry. It is well worth the money and door is now extremely quiet. Barry was nice and explained everything to me.

I was about to leave for an appointment and when I got into my truck and pushed the garage door opener the garage did not respond. I was stuck in my garage in 90 degree temperature and the garage door would not open. After going back into the house I telephoned the company that had installed the garage door. I received a very negative response. I was told that I would have to wait up to four (4) days before anyone would be available to come to my home to inspect the garage door and determine what the problem was. Their standard consult fee was shocking. The cost of travel time, parts and labor were excessive. I should have called Angie's List first....what was I thinking! I was fortunate enough to find Percision Garage Doors, Inc., and everything else is history. I will never make another move without first consulting Angie's List. The work was done on the same day, within 30 minutes, at a reasonable price and I was able to keep my appointment. Thank you.

Scheduling was a breeze, and the technician showed up right on time (having called 30 minutes in advance just like we were told he would!). He was friendly, efficient, and extremely competent. Not only do our garage doors work better (and much, much quieter) than ever before, he reprogrammed our remotes (including one that had never worked) so that we now can actually open the doors from our cars! Now, if he had only cleaned out our garage, we could actually use the garage for parking! This service was definitely worth the cost (and it would have been even cheaper had I purchased two "Big Deals" to begin with - I originally had planned on getting only one door fixed). Highly recommended!!!

The technician, Derrick, was very knowledgable and professional, and a really nice guy. He worked on my garage door first, and worked quickly and efficiently. I was not aware that my Big Deal coupon would cover the cost of new rollers, which are a better design than that of the original rollers, and have a life-time warranty. I also received a one-year warranty on the installation. After I explained to Derrick my issue with the sunlight interfering with the operation of the door, he proposed that he switch the sensors, instantly fixing the problem that I had had since installation in 2005. The new rollers provide a very smooth and quiet operation of the door, and it is reassuring to know that they are mainenance-free. I saved hundreds of dollars by purchasing the Big Deal, and the company earned two new loyal customers.
