The crew was fantastic they told us what they were going to do and did exactly what they said they were going to. They were very hard working courteous and professional. They really put us at ease.
Description of Work: They showed up in the middle of a time when basements were flooding at a very high rate. We had called a few companies and no one seemed to care. Toni at puroclean was compassionate and helpful and got a crew to us as soon as possible

Their service was subscribed by the governing insurance carrier for mitigation of water damage resulting from the negligence of an above floor occupant. A preliminary opinion was positive, so much so that we provided complimentary pizza and beverages for the workforce in their mitigation process. During this process, an inexperienced Puroclean worker negligently activated a fire sprinkler causing more damage, this time spreading to a neighboring unit causing considerable damage there. Following this, calls to their main office proved fruitless including: being placed on hold for 10-15 minutes at a time, refusal of the receptionist to provide the name of management, blatant rudeness in response to questions of next-step procedures, failure of management (Derek) to call back. In short-all was going reasonably well, until they caused subsequent damage that resulted in the response of a local fire department. Then they totally reversed their professionalism to the point of antagonism, disrespect, and fraudulent promises. They expressed the same traits to our neighbor negatively affecting our relationship there. This provider is NOT recommended. Serve Pro, a competitor once also used, IS recommend.

Before and during the work, we repeatedly asked the workers and the office for a quote. Ultimately we received a "guestimate" from one of the workers for slightly more than our insurance company had estimated. When we finally received the bill, it was almost double the worker's estimate, and more than double the estimate Allstate had give us. After MANY phone calls and letters, we ultimately ended up splitting the difference between what the worker told us it would cost and the original invoice. The worst part, though, was that the work was poorly done. They said that they would cut away all of the drywall within 2 feet above the floor. In many places where it was difficult to get to the drywall, they left the drywall in place. They threw out all the 6" wooden baseboard -- quite expensive material to replace -- even though the information on their website indicated that wooden baseboard can be dried and reused. It cost over $500 to replace the wooden baseboard. In some places they removed ALL of the frame; in other places, they removed the door frames up to 24" above the floor; in some places, they left them in place; and in other places they cut the door frames to 6" above the floor -- no consistency. Our builder estimated that the rebuild of the basement cost $1500 more than it should have due to the shoddy workmanship of the PuroClean employees.
Description of Work: We had PuroClean in to address water damage in our basement caused by Hurricane Irene. They were to perform mitigation & restoration services, including the removal of drywall up to 24" above the floor, treating the basement with a biocide, and drying & dehumidification of the area.

They were fabulous. They came and they were prompt. They were a pleasure to work and answered all questions that were even outside of the specific job. They also explained everything they were doing throughout of the process.

Description of Work: The company was hired to remove mold in specified areas of my basement. They contained the areas and supposedly began the work. They were there for a few hours over 3 days. They never put in a full day. The young men performing the work were friendly and responsive, but higher management was concerned only about getting their 3 checks, which I should have held back till the work was completed to my satisfaction. The site manager was unresponsive to phone calls. When the men told me they were finished the job, I looked over the contract and saw that they were supposed to paint the areas with a mold repellant type paint. The cost for that service was over 1/3 of the contract! They told me that no one had told them they had to do that when it was specified in the contract! If I hadn't looked it over, it never would have been done! The workers were apologetic. you would think that the workers would be informed of the details of their job, especially when performing such a costly job. How can they charge over $1000 for a step in the process that they were walking away without even doing! I was extremely disappointed! When the manager (Derek's) came to inspect the job (and get paid) I showed him the mold on several doors and he said it was just stain - that the mold was gone. I picked up a cleaning product at home depot and wiped the doors down with a wet rag. Guess what? Every bit of green mold came right off without the least bit of scrubbing! After I paid in full, I still noticed a smell, so I called and emailed several times asking for an air quality check to see if I needed additional remediation. Despite repeated attempts, I never received a response! I called other companies and was informed that a follow- up check was part of their service. Needless to say, I would never recommend this company!

carpet cleaners
 + -1 moreThey were excellent, but they were expensive. They provided a quick response. They were very efficient. They worked till it was done. They were physically here for about 8 hours, but they left the equipment here. We had like six dehumidifiers and some other kind of equipment that they left here for a couple of days. The workers were excellent as well.
Description of Work: We used PuroClean towards the end of September. We had four inches of water in our basement. We actually got the water out, but they got the water out of the carpets.
