To start the quote is done by a zoom call. On the day of the move, the driver walked in and spent 10 minutes before he told us it was going to be considerably more than the quote, classic bait and switch. They then slow walked the move. The packing was sloppy which does not line up with the time it took to pack. They were supposed to wrap glassware but did not do so consistently. They packed other possessions in a jumble of loose paper. Workers were constantly on their phones. Finally they snapped off the end of an antique table and demolished another. Crew admitted fault but the company insisted that it was incidental to the move. ( in their words, the damage was consistent with a normal move, which I guess includes snapping off the end of a 1/2 oak table). I am out another $1800 in repairs, they offered $125. You would be nuts if you used this company.

(June 2022 move) Significantly adverse experience/would not recommend: cost overruns, several damaged items (only by sheer luck were several more expensive and irreplaceable items not damaged), and many items not moved as contracted. 1. Cost Over-Run: The initial quote was based not only on the detailed list of key items I provided as requested but was also backed up by a video tour, where Zip Movers examined all of the rooms in my apartment and their contents. The estimator promised me that his figure was highly conservative, and he expected a lower final price. On a moving day, as soon as the team entered, they called the home office, which authorized a price of $1,000 higher than the original estimate; they were not able to explain why. Adding to the time-based pricing concerns, the movers themselves were not terribly efficient. The team leader disappeared for a period of time and could not be found. One of the workers was found chatting up a staff member in the apartment building. In the end, the final bill was only a few hundred dollars more than the initial estimate, but that takes into account my labor and that of a friend who greatly supplemented the Zip Movers team effort. A friend jumped in, carrying furniture and boxes at the same rate as the movers at the new home (destination), and I also worked as hard as the movers, packing and carrying throughout the day (origin and destination). So I expect the bill would have been even higher if my friend and I had not supplemented the team effort significantly. I also declined most of the unpacking services. 2. Damaged Items: It is unfortunate that I spent so much time packing myself because I should have spent more time supervising the care of the mover work. Several items were damaged, and more were placed at risk of damage. A several-hundred-dollar Panama hat from Italy was crushed inside a box of heavy items. New Ethan Allen chairs were packed in the truck without any wrapping or protection, and the wooden legs from one chair stained the upholstered seat of others (see a photo of chairs in the truck without any wrapping). A large Serena and Lily armchair was left without wrapping, resting its weight directly on top of a sharp metal corner of a bed-frame (lucky that it did not destroy the upholstery; see the photo I had already moved the chair off of the sharp corner before taking the photo). In the packing process, several pictures were stacked flat, directly on top of a nice oil painting with the metal hooks of one picture sitting directly on the painted surface, without any protection. The base of an Aeron chair was cracked. The level of care was far less than that of the movers I used a year ago for a different move. When I reported the damage and the cost of repair from the original manufacturers, the corporate office only offered $50, which was well less than the actual cost of repair. 3. Unmoved Items: I left my apartment (origin) before the team was finished packing so I could buy them no lunch and meet them to unpack (no good deed goes unpunished). At the end of the day, after delivery at my new home, I returned to the apartment and found all sorts of items that were not packed and moved as they should have been. See attached photo. (Bottles with liquids were, by company policy, properly my responsibility to move, but the other remaining items in the photos should have been moved.) It took me a day of subsequent work to move the items that the movers simply left in the apartment. Zip Movers was made aware of all of these issues either during the move or immediately afterward, and, beyond platitudes, they offered either $50 or the opportunity to use an independent claims service. I would not that all of the movers involved claimed that had been working with Zip Movers for several years, so I do not believe these issues are due to new staff.

Zip Moving & Storage was awesome! So we recently moved to Dallas, into our dream house, and everything was just perfect! This was our first move, so we werent really sure how the pricing works. When we spoke to the representative they were patiently explaining everything about how moving works and the estimate for our move was reasonable in our opinion. We decided to pack our items on our own, and they were pleasant enough to give us packing tips! Now we realized that moving is a difficult task, but thankfully these amazing movers made it super easy. Our belongings arrived at the agreed time and the truck was unloaded within just a couple of hours and our furniture assembled. Wow, after many crazy stories about moving companies we heard from our family and friends we are lucky to hire an amazing company like Zip Moving and Storage that really exceeded our expectations. Now we can confidently give recommendations to everyone we know.

Our move happened this morning, and I had to write a review while our impressions were still fresh! This is the best moving company out there! We moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and couldn't be happier! Many times when people are moving they don't know where to start or what to do. From experience I am telling you, hire professional movers, ideally Zip Moving and Storage because you want your belongings to be packed the right way and transported without damage, and it actually costs less when doing it yourself! It was just an amazing experience for us, especially when true professionals and genuine human beings were apart of making it happen. We also hired them to do all of our packing, because we own a lot of fragile items that are a part of our family heirloom I would never forgive myself if we had something broken trying to do it ourselves. The entire move went smoothly, and we wanted to leave a review because the whole team deserved it!

I want to thank the entire Zip moving and storage team for making this the easiest move by far. I relocate almost every 5 years for work and this has been my favorite and easiest experience ever. I hired Zip long distance movers in Trenton, New Jersey almost 2 months in advance, and they kept in contact the entire time. The whole process was easy and didn't feel dreadful as moves can usually. They confirmed the day before when they will be coming and the movers arrived right on time. I moved quite a few times and I was stunned by the speed and professionalism Zip movers showed. They loaded the truck strategically and checked with me along the way if everything was ok. When I'm off to my next destination, Zip moving and storage will be the ones I call!

This was my first move, and it went perfectly! Anyone moving on their own for the first time knows it's a big deal. From looking for a reputable company to the move day, it's a long and stressful process. Going with Zip Moving and Storage was the best decision I've made.
