Stang Plumbing

Scheduling was VERY easy and work was done within 24 hours of my request! Crew was EARLY to the site, and EARLY to finish. A great experience. The cost was a little more than I was expecting / hoping for, but the service was top-notch.

The Stang plumber did a good job. I would have given Stang Plumbing an overall rating of A except for one thing. They charged extra to use a auger tool to unplug a commode. It was a tool that they already had. In my view, this tool was used in ordinary plumbing, and did not warrant an extra charge.

Initial phone call - dispatch returned my call within an hour (or a little over an hr; not bad since the initial call was on a Sunday, late afternoon). A couple of other service companies we tried either did not answer or could only talk with someone during norm biz hrs. The call experience with one of Stang's plumbers/installers was great (questions & concerns about the current condition of the old one) answered. Was able to schedule an installation for the next day (Monday) hoping the old tank would hold up overnight. We indicated that we turned off the old hot water heater to prevent further leaking & basically went one night without hot water. They showed up on time on Monday as scheduled. We had some questions about the different tank options, which were answered after reviewing our current gas line/layout (the installer was very courteous, patient & competent about handling our questions), After weighing tankless options, we went with the conventional gas water tank route due to the explained upgrade costs of the tankless option (we would not see a return on that investment any time soon). We were a little disappointed that Stang only offered one brand (A.O. Smith) with very limited warranty (6 yrs parts, 1 yr labor) for the price (warranty gets a C grade & price a B grade). There were mixed product reviews on this tank upon my own research - thus hard to draw conclusions. The installer did explain some positive features (like theOne thing I can say definitively is the quality of the installation and plumbing work & adjustments were TOP NOTCH & clean. We also took advantage of Angie's list discounts (one we purchased as an offering for Stang - buy a $40 off for $20 AND a separate $15 off for any Angie's List service, both of which Stang honored with no question. Every little bit helps! Top notch service!

We had a toilet that was backed up and overflowing - down into the kitchen! Since I believed that this qualified as a true emergency, I called as many plumbers as I could on Angie's list. Stang was the third one I called and they sent someone within a couple of hours to try and fix the problem. Ultimately, we needed to buy a new toilet. We bought the toilet through Stang and they came the following Monday exactly when they said they would come. The work was done efficiently and well. Everything was cleaned up. I would recommend the plumbers at Stang very highly. I would also like to say that the secretary/receptionist was very helpful in setting up the appointments.

They are excellent and they are on Angie's List. I have used them for years. They are all very professional and have always done the job. I have never had anything break that they have fixed and have always been pleased with their work. They always show up within their window of time, which is important to me. They put booties on over their shoes so they don't drag anything over my floor. They are very careful and considerate when they are in my house. The service people are very knowledgeable. I had an emergency several years ago on a Friday afternoon in the spring or summer. They showed up, brought as many people as they needed and stayed until after midnight to help clean up. They are wonderful.

Everything about the experience was excellent. The plumber arrived quickly and performed the replacement efficiently. He was most pleasant.

They were very good. I felt the price was reasonable.

Stang Plumbing were expensive but their quality, punctuality, and professionalism were excellent.

Plumber fixed problem in 20 minutes. Problem was solved and toilet works fine now.

They were quick (they came within a couple of hours) but rather expensive however they did refund some of my bill without even my asking.

Very professional, friendly, and worked quickly. I didn't price shop so I'm not sure how they compare but I can't imagine anyone would do a better job.

The plumber arrived slightly earlier than the appointment which was great so he cou ld finish earlier. He replaced the sump pump and corrected the method of attachment to the pipe going outside so if we have to replace the pump again possibly we can do it ourselves. He then cleaned the line going from the kitchen to main collection line outisde the house. This made the kitchen drain run much better than it had in years.

Was pleased with work, otherwise would not have called them back. I opened up floor in basement so they could access drain pipe; not sure what cost would have been if I had not done the prep work. Work replacing water heater and shower control fixture was for a rental property I own. They showed up on time and did work professionally. I have no questions about referring them to others.

Went very well except they had a limited inventory of faucet sets available.

I telephoned on a Monday and they came the next morning -- on time. The plumbers advised me on what approach to take with the job I had called about and answered all my questions.

Great job! It tured out to be the garbage disposal. He was quick and took time to explain what he had done so that I could potentially help myself if it happebed again. He arrived 20 min late. There apparently was a communication issue between office staff and the plumber. This was not really a big issue for me, however, upon arrival the plumber mentioned he had been circling for 20 Min trying to find a parking place. This was unnecessary, because I had left specific instructions with the office scheduler for the plumber to call me when he arrived so that I could give him a parking pass and let him into the private parking area. This is exactly what he ended up doing, but could have saved himself 20 min and arrived as scheduled.

Ask them for the pre-arrival phone call just to be sure you're prepared. The plumber seemed very well trained and qualified, and suggested a repair rather than a more costly faucet replacement--and it seems to work just fine now. No issues--they had offered to come the day after I called but it was impossible for me, so they gave me first call on the next business day and made it there. Just be prepared for the bill. They did give an estimate over the phone.

Called Stang Plumbing on a wednesday, they scheduled the job for the next day, in the afternoon. Mentioned the hourly rate. Told me the plumber would call 30 mins before. He called at the begining of the time window they gave me and showed up soon after. Work was done quickly, no issues. Plumber was a nice guy, explained the job and cleaned up where he worked. Gave us a break on the valves he repaced as well. Would definetly use them again.

I have used them for years. They are very expensive but they are amazing. They always send the same guy to my house; which I think is smart for a company to do but I have never encountered another company that does it. The guy that comes out knows what he is doing and explains everything. When I go online and check the things that he has told me, he is right; even if it doesn't sound quite right, he is right. I like it that he knows his stuff; even kind of obscure things.

We called Stang first thing on a Monday morning. Their answering service is very bright and cheerful and obviously passes the information right along because promptly when the office opened at 7am, we got a call and a plumber scheduled for 8:30. Rob showed up around 9:15 quickly disregarded what we thought was a hot water problem and helped us to locate where water was running out of the house. He cut two holes in search of the problem, but the third was a charm. The problem was a hose bib that was left open then sided over. The shut off was located just behind the main water shut off for the house, but not labeled as such. Why is there not a place on Angie's List to review the previous owner of a house? Rob quickly cut off the old hose bib and capped the pipe so even if we turned that dial again, it wouldn't result in the same problem. He then went on to consult with us on two sinks we were installing, sold us the connectors we needed and gave us direction for the other materials we should use and how to correctly use them including providing a few pro tips. He offered to install them but was not at all pushy when we indicated we wanted to give it a shot, but would call him if we missed. He said it was an easy job and we shouldn't have a problem. Rob is nothing short of awesome and we definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional and incredibly helpful plumber. I have to disagree with the reviews on price for Stang. I would happily pay the hourly rate for someone I trust is doing the job I need him to do, particularly when it comes to water in my house. We also, with Rob's advice, managed to install a faucet and drain in one of our bathrooms and it looks pretty good, in our opinion.

DO ask the price before you commit to a visit - Stang is just too expensive.

He came within 2 hours of my call and fixed the problem. He was pleasant and professional.

The hourly rate of $170 is completely ridiculous. It should come with legal advice. And when you charge that much hour, you shouldn't mark up the parts for extra profit. I went with them for the $20 for $40 of work coupon . Should have known that was just the bait for the switch. I didn't know that $40 would only cover 15 minutes of work.

Rob was nothing short of wonderful! We are new to our home and with that newness comes many discoveries, not always pleasant. During our floor install we found out the water shut offs under one of the bathroom sinks were seized. It was the sink we wanted to remove of course. When on the second morning of the install we arrived at the home to find the sink leaking, we realized now wasn't the time to wait so we called Stang around seven in the morning and Rob was there by 10. He fixed the sink in question, checked the other bathrooms (also seized) and replaced those. He walked with us through the house, answered our questions (including the all important...where do I go when the water breaks lose?), and pointed out areas of concern including a sink that was so rusted underneath that he recommended against its use. He also pointed out unused pipes where we didn't want them so we added removal of those to his list that day. Rob was knowledgeable, more than happy to share that knowledge with us and definitely gave us options for the items we found while he was at the house. He not only fixed what we knew was a problem, but he has probably saved us a great deal of money and a giant headache by pointing out the areas of the house that need attention. Once we are ready to replace fixtures, we will certainly be calling Stang and requesting another visit.

I chose Stang because of the great reviews that they have on The List. I noticed that they had a 'B' grade for price, but I am willing to pay a little more for quality work that I know will be right the first time. They showed up on time and completed the job in a timely fashion. The technican was very nice and answered any questions that I had about what was gong to be done. I also recommned looking on The List for coupons onceyou schedule them for service. I was able to get a $20 off my first service coupon. We will definitely be using Stang in the future.
