Went well. Repaired some dry rot within the doors out on the Deck.

The JWHI tech, Manuel, arrived on schedule (actually early) did an absolutely fantastic job on this project; within 15 minutes of arrival he had determined the cause and source of what was actually mildew, gave a list of needed parts and, with my approval, secured them from the local Home Depot. On returning, completed all inside replacement and repair of the ceiling drywall and had primed and sanded the damaged/repaired area within two and a half hours, then after an exceptional cleanup inside, installed the barrier over the outside vent opening. Am more than satisfied with Manuel and JWHI's performance, and without any hesitation, I will give them first consideration if, and when, any additional handyman or home improvement service in needed/required.

After 1 hour and 15 minutes the handyman said the lock i bought was no good and I needed to buy a new one. I sent someone out but I don;t think he needed so long to figure out the first deadbolt I got from Home Depot was something he could not work with. He did not move the latch plates but instead tighten the screw on the doors so yes it worked fine for a day and not is almost impossible to lock again. I just finished repairing the work on the front storm door closer so yes the door closed all the way but he made so the opening was very small so it was hard to bring packages in the house. He did get most of the mold off the roof but I was disappointed that he did not fix my sliding door and that I had to spend time on the front door closer. Maybe he was just not a very skilled worker but since I guess you don't know who you will get when you hire them I don;t think I would use them again

It went well. They did a thourough job and my deck looks great!!

They did a fine job but I was forced to pay an extra $50 just to schedule which seemed a bit ridiculous. They also did a quote which would have added on many more hours.

It didn't go well at all. I purchased a Big Deal certificate from Angie's List to get three hours of handyman service for $149.00. I scheduled and appointment with JW Home Improvement twice to get the work done and they were a "no-show" both times. I'm still trying to get a refund of my money because the work was not done. I give JW Home Improvement a big fat "F"; they are not reliable.

Not well at all. I bought a Big Deal for three hours of h andyman service for $149.00 with JW Home Improvement. Scheduled and appointment twice and JWHI did not show up both times. They are very unreliable. I will never use them again.

Have used these folks twice in the past. The people actually doing the work have great skills. The problem I have is management's sales tactics. They always send out a sales person, typically young with very limited knowledge, whose role in my opinion is to overestimate the job. For the above work, I received an estimate of approx. $5,000. After I got mad, they indicated we could still work something out on the two deals I had purchased. But I'm tired of having my time wasted, and I prefer to work with contractors who offer a fair price for quality work from the get-go.

Carlos and Janaka removed old caulk and recaulked all of our windows carefully and thoroughly. They were pleasant to work with, took pride in their work, and finished the work in a remarkably short period of time. They also made suggestions for other caulking needs and promptly made the repairs with my encouragement. I am glad that I hired their company. Job well done.

I have a bit of an issue with them. The sent an estimate over and they put me on the schedule and then when they were supposed to arrive, they didn't show up. So I had to call and they told me the estimator had been fired. And they worked on it and they sent someone fine. It was just not pleasant to take the day off to wait for somebody to show up. I wasn't happy with how they got started. They did not show up on time so I had to reschedule

JW sent two technicians that did the carpentry work. They came out on two separate occasions. Showed up when they said they would, worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. It looks good!.

Estimate process and confirmation of scheduling required follow-up calls. But once the team arrived, they were great. They reviewed each decision with me. They pointed out additional deterioration, eg on the trim, and replaced the piece before painting. The team was very conscientious re solid fixes that won't require redoing. The work was completed within the labor estimate, although it stretched slightly longer. Team cleaned up each day.

Estimate and job went quickly and smoothly. Larry is great with the carpentry, also had good advice and genuinely cared about our needs (e.g. suggested NOT to stain the wood because it would be smelly in a garage and not good for the kid, also you couldn't step on it for a few days while it dried).

Not very well. It is a rental unit and I was not there. They provided an estimate that was very high. I called the office to understand the estimate and the manager did not know how the estimate was put together.

That was fine, it was fine. They were fine they were good. I literally had probably an hour and forty five minutes worth of work for them and they offered to do whatever else and I said no, I think they did everything they needed to do and that was fine. They were just an handymen they were not an expert on anything but they were if you had someone has an handymen to call I guess it would be what you expect somebody who you call handyman.

A long review but this company is 0-3 with us and worth the read before you hire them. We had JW come out after we bought our house to fix a roof leak that had ruined the drywall in one of our guest rooms. 8 months later, we noticed that the leak had reappeared and the drywall once again had water stains and chipping in the exact same place. Since the work was under a year warranty, we called them back out to repair the leak again. They still charged us $1000, which was half the amount of the project (they claim they covered the other half.) The office claimed the roof was leaking in a new spot even though the patch of ruined drywall was the same drywall that was already fixed. Little does the office know, the tech that came out the second time to repair their handiwork told us that he saw where the leak wasn't fixed correctly the first time. He even asked us the name of the crew that came out the first time. Silly us, we received a gift card from JW Home Improvement and called them back to install two very high light fixtures in our home. We were told 4 man hours, but it couldn't possibly take more than 2-3 to install 2 light fixtures. Our estimator, Jesse, suggested we find another project to have completed with the remaining 4 hour minimum. We bought a ceiling fan. After only two hours of work (2 men instead of 1) I got a call from the office. The time was up and they would need another 4 hours to complete the light fixture and install the ceiling fan. At this point 1 of 2 light fixtures were installed. The second old light fixture in the stairwell had been taken down, but the new light wasn't up yet. Brian from the office told me it would be $848 to complete the job. I told them I would not pay them another penny and to leave the job incomplete. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant (due in November) and the office was fine with leaving me no light whatsoever in my stairwell. The workers refused, however and installed the light despite what the office said about time being up. After an angry phone call from my husband and a visit from their "quality control" man, they waived the second guy and did not charge us extra to put in the second light fixture. They did not install the ceiling fan.

Great! Everything was completed to my satisfaction and on time. I would definitely recommend JW Home Improvement to all. Oh and by the way there was no air conditioning in my house on that particular day but it was cool outside so there was only slight breezes entering the windows.

Excellent! David was very meticulous and thorough. He arrived 15 minutes earlier than scheduled, got a clear understanding of the project, recommended the paint brand that we should purchase and proceeded to sand the surface while we made a quick run to the store to purchase the paint. We are very pleased with the outcome.

The work done by JW Home Improvement was first rate. I especially appreciated the diligence to ensure we used a plastic sleeve over cast iron before placing a new wax ring (aka the reason we had an issue was the installer had not properly accounted for the age of the house).

Freddy G and Ricardo V came out to do the work, and they did a great job. The were efficient and friendly. They got the job done quickly and cleaned up after themselves. They were very respectful and explained what they were doing.

Our initial experiences with JW Home Improvement have been outstanding! We are already following up with them to schedule our next small home improvement jobs. First the front office: The management folks are polite, knowledgeable, and responsive. It is easy to get answers, and they work hard to accommodate your schedule and make sure that your needs are met. One person in particular (Chris) who helps to schedule the jobs, went absolutely above & beyond. He gave us his personal cell phone to make sure we could reach him, and was always available -- early, late, weekdays or weekends -- making sure our jobs got done. On to the actual work: The main job we had done first was installing bathroom vent fans in two bathrooms. This turned out to be significantly harder than originally estimated, because of wiring and access difficulties. It is important to note that this kind of issue cannot be anticipated; they have to remove fixtures, get behind the walls to see what room there is, and into the electrical systems and wiring to connect the fan and lights. The contractors who worked on this, Raymond and David, were both excellent. Friendly people, clear communicators, skilled handymen - everything you could want. David started the job, and called Raymond for advice when he ran into some things behind the walls that were not as expected (this is an old house which we just bought a few months ago, so we had no idea about wiring or prior work here). Raymond helped over the phone and then later in person. Then when more complications arose, he helped us talk with both the schedulers to get the job finished, and with billing to help us save money. Both fans work perfectly; the jobs are beautiful. Getting there (through multiple issues) ended up taking twice as long as originally estimated, but Chris moved schedules around, and Raymond and David both came back to expedite completion for us before relatives arrived to visit from out-of-state. It was heroic. And because it took so much longer and gave us more stress, the company ended up not charging us any extra beyond the original estimate! In short, JW Home Improvement could not have made a better first impression. They worked hard to give us great service, and made sure that we were satisfied. Even though our first job turned out to be difficult, the company and the individuals all demonstrated integrity and dedication. (Raymond is also hands-down the nicest handyman we've ever met!) That is how business should be done -- and they've certainly earned our loyalty!

Old broken bifold doors were replaced with bypass closet doors. The job was done well and ahead of the estimated time to complete. Didn't know how improved the room could look with new closet doors.

Didn't like them, overpriced and we ended up doing the deck ourselves. They gentleman that did all of the work was very hard working and did a very nice job. I feel the company's pricing is way too high.He just was shocked with given the amount of work they only sent one person out to us.

I bought an Angie's List coupon for four hours of work. Pedro showed up on time, set up efficiently, and got to work in a hurry. The job took one hour more than the coupon, but the work was very well done.
