This is my second time using JW and I will call them for future projects. Raymond was punctual, incredibly friendly and very professional. He also thoroughly cleaned up after the project was complete.

Great. Chris, the office project coordinator responded to our request promptly and scheduled the work to be done. Both Josh and Manuel came to the house to do the work. They arrived on time, were tidy and performed the jobs to our satisfaction. These were small jobs but at the very least we feel like we know who to call for handyman services, and perhaps more.

The estimators were prompt and professional - and extremely helpful when I managed to drop and spill a full quart of paint all over myself and my laundry room floor (don't try to carry every thing in one trip)! Ceasar, the actual repairman, was very prompt, professional, prepared. I had an Angie's List deal for 6 hours and he managed to accomplish everything in that amount of time (included a couple trips to Home Depot). He was great - offered suggestions for options, made good recommendations and went quickly about his work.

I only gave a B because their Angie's List deal is not worth it in the end. I would rather hire an independent handyman and avoid overhead and other unnecessary charges. Almost $1000 for the work done is not good value from experience I've had with other contractors. Ceasar was great, though. He arrived right on time, worked very hard and quickly, delivered a good quality of work and was very attentive to my needs. Make sure you request him!

There was originally some confusion in contacting me but Sam called and straightened it out immediately. Josh and Telly came by and estimated the job and Janaka came the next day and did an excellent job removing the old caulk and putting in new.

After writing via Angie's List, Sam called us and was able to schedule an estimate for the following day, which was great. The person giving us the estimate was very nice and professional, though he did initially quote the job as possibly needing 5 hours, which we pushed back on (it ended up only taking 2.5 hours, including an hour to go buy supplies, so I'm very glad we did not pay upfront for 5). The technician completing the job was timely and professional, though I did have to point out one spot on the door frame he initially missed. As the job was completed well ahead of schedule, I also had him re-caulk our bathtub. My main complaints were the price and the way the estimate was handled. We expected this to be a 2-3 hour job (which it was), but learned when the person came to give us an estimate that they have a 4-hour minimum (this was not told to me over the phone). By that point, we already were charged $50 for the estimate, so we decided to proceed anyway. Then, as soon as the estimate provider left, I saw on Angie's List that they offer a deal for 3 hours of handyman service, so clearly they do some jobs under 4 hours. I might consider using them again for certain jobs, but would definitely be sure to purchase the Angie's List deal ahead of time. There was also an 8% charge after the job was completed for overhead, which I do not remember being told about in advance and see was included in very fine print at the bottom of our official estimate form.

I contacted through Angie's List and got a call back almost immediately. Josh came out on time as scheduled (actually called and said he could come a little earlier - how often does that happen?) and walked through the job. As I suspected, the Angie's list 4 hour coupon wasn't sufficient to do the job but he gave me an estimate - good news - no wood rot visible. He called in and scheduled a crew which as luck/weather would have were available the next day. We agreed to see how much could be done in one day and then decide about continuing. It did take the better part of 2 days but both Sun and Jesse worked tirelessly and did a very good job. The trim and soffits look fantastic - like brand new. They carefully covered up everything and cleaned up well after the job.

Angie"s List Rep Josh that did the estimate was correct. It was a very detailed task which took longer than the 6 hours. However, Justin was super efficient and did an absolutely great job.

This project for the lazy Susan cabinet replacement took about 1 hour and 20 minutes despite the fact that the manufacturer of the replacement parts stated that it should only take 15 minutes. It was an extremely complicated process and the technician (Bob Brown) was able to realign the center bar to ensure proper rotation. I tried to do this myself, for about 2 hours and was unable to fix the problem. Installation of the kitchen faucet only took 30 minutes and his attention to detail was note worthy. He even fixed a leak. I would recommend JW Home Improvement for all home improvement projects.

Entire job went great. My second experience with JW, having met them through Angies List for an initial job about a year ago. Once again got the Angies List discount. Josh provided another excellent estimate, walking through the entire process and responding fully and clearly to my questions. Carpenters Fernando and Jesus showed up on time and worked quickly and neatly within the estimated time. Another satisfying experience with JW from beginning to end. The approximate cost of the job shown in this review does not include roughly $250 in materials, including the new staircase.

Josh Metz the estimator was great. I was able to arrange a time that was very agreeable to my very busy work schedule. Josh arrived on time, gave me great advice on what to do about all of the wood work. He scheduled the job within 2 days of his estimate which was terrific for my schedule. Oscar was the actual contractor who did the job. I re-showed him all that Josh & I discussed. Whatever materials he didn't have, he left to pick up. In the meantime, I left the house for 7 1/2 hours and he did all of the work while I was gone. He was cleaning up when I arrived home. The job was excellent.

The work itself went well. At the appointed time two technicians showed up when I was expecting one. I was told the second man was in training. They got the work done and they did it well, but the estimate had been for one man and seven hours. It took two men seven hours. I called the next day and talked to someone in the office about the situation. In the end we agreed they would stand by the original estimate. I thought it was over, but then they wanted double the payment. I called again and talked to someone in accounting. She said she saw a note on the account that the second man should not have been charged for since he was a trainee. OK, so I thought it was taken care of again. A month or so later I got a statement saying I owed even more than the double estimate. I didn't get them called back in time to stop them charging my credit card for that extra amount. I called yet again and left a message but got no response during the next business day. I opened a dispute with the credit card company. I called again and the person whose name was on the emailed statement said that charge had been made in error. A very small part of that amount was for materials which I thought I had already paid for. However I discovered I had not paid that part, so we agreed they would issue a credit for everything but the materials fee. While I was happy with the work, all the problems after that have made me decide not to hire them again.

This company required a $50 payment for their estimator to come take a look and give us an estimate. They didn't tell us the rep who came out was only vaguely aware of what each task would require in manpower and time. His estimates turned out to be excessively high. (For example he estimated a whole day for 2 men [it was prescribed by the manufacturer as a "2-man job"] to put together the two wardrobes. The men we actually hired completed the task in 3 - 4 hours.) His knowledge was significantly lacking. (Following his visit, we called a "tile man" who had repaired shower walls for a relative, and who also was highly recommended by our plumber. He looked at our cracked tiles, and said if it required only the replacement of a couple rows of tiles, it could be done in a couple hours [if he could find matching tiles] - as opposed to the estimate of 6 hours, which I recall being given by JW Home. MORE IMPORTANTLY, the tile man told us that it was very very likely that, inasmuch as the cracking of the tiles was most likely due to house settlement, it was likely the Dryrock the tiles were attached to was also cracked, and therefore should also be replaced -- which would require removing ALL of the tiles on that wall. We thought about the estimate we received, which the fellow had indicated would take two men a couple days, but then pointed out that this was just an estimate, and that we would be charged only for the actual time required to complete our tasks. The men we hired completed all our tasks, except for the shower wall, in about 9 or 10 hours, which included a] their going to Home Depot to get the railings and accompanying hardware, and b] their 'moving' and 'installing' electric and cable outlets in one room.

Went very well. Good communication. Owner of company came by after to ensure our satisfaction. Very impressed with everything.

Everything was great except two things. One of the recessed lights stopped working soon after they installed it. JW sent someone out who said that it is covered by the warranty. They have not come to fix it. The second is that I had to rehang the tv because it was too close to the outlet and could not go against the wall.

Sam phoned within an hour to schedule an appointment for an estimate. He was polite and professional as well as persistent and accomodating with my challenging schedule. I'm a repeat customer and have always had good experiences with JW Home Improvement.

JW Home Improvement did excellent work. Matt and his team completed the drywall repair and painting work as scheduled which proved to be more challenging than originally expected. The ceiling and wall looked new when the work was completed. We would definitely hire them again.

The JW Improvement rep did fantastic work. He was punctual and professional. He communicated well and did a great job on all the handy projects I gave him.

Wonderfully well. First, a representative came to home to assess needs and provide estimated costs, including Angie's discount. Then, a handyman was dispatched who did all the necessary work in a timely and professional manner. We brought the fan and remote lights prior to his visit, and he purchased the dimmer switch. We were so pleased with JWHI that we are using company again to hang 50+ pictures in our home.

Justine is the best and I'm trying to get him back for other work that I need done to complete my final projects.

Jesus and Fernando were prompt, courteous, efficient, clean, and followed my instructions exactly. They were so fast, they finished before the estimated time. And when I called the office to sing their praises and talk about a future job, the guy (sorry I can’t remember his name) was super nice and explained how great the company is to work for and how they only use really experienced handy guys (my word, not his). That makes me like them even more.

This is why I use this company because of the excellent response time. So, no work done yet. I'm just reporting on the quick response time from Sam who remembered me from previous work. Great company!

tachino was very prompt at the arrival time and wasted no time getting things done. very happy with his service. the estimator Josh metz was vary courteous and profeesional taking time to go through the details and explaining other services they offer.

This was my third project with JWHI. Alexey has been on all three projects and is a remarkable worker. This last one turned into a huge project with need for attention to a lot of unexpected work and details of finish. Alex and William were right on time each day and cleaned up at the end of each day. They were also very careful and cognizant of my pets and took precautions to keep them out of the work space. Now let's get to the work itself. I t was spectacular and exceeded my expectations in ways I could not have imagined. The difference between a dark and dank paneled room and the bright white and open room is beyond belief. I walked down into my kitchen when I got home last night and was just taken away. When Alex and William finished the job yesterday, they put the rugs and furniture back into place as well as they could making it possible for me to reclaim my family room after 9 days. I still have to put things on shelves and rearrange some of my "stuff". The bottom line is that the work was well done and the transformation so great. Which is why I have used Alex and JWHI three times now. I am sure there will be additional projects down the way. Thank you JWHI!
