Arrived on time and went to work quickly. He did a good, professional job, which lasted just over the three hour Angie's List promotion and was consequently slightly more expensive than the special price. I had been advised during the estimate that the work would possibly take a bit longer, so this was not unexpected. This was a simple job and the rating applies only to this job. The quality of the work was such that I would be likely to call on them again for an estimate on one of the many other services JW Home Improvement provides.

We were mostly pleased with the work as performed, but struggled with the process of communicating among different people prior to performing the work. It was unclear after speaking with a representative in the office what costs are included (or not) above and beyond the hourly labor charge. Further, the appraisal process led to more questions, and the labor estimate seemed to be somewhat arbitrary. Finally, when the handyman arrived (not the person who had been assigned to us) to begin the work, there was miscommunication about what the tasks were, even though there had been a paper trail since the beginning. Overall, the main drawback were issues in communication. While we appreciate the need to segment the process, it seemed to add to the confusion that one person would perform an appraisal, and a second would come to complete the work - do his own appraisal, potentially leading to spending time shopping for materials - before completing the work.

Littl high on price, work and quality were fine.

Overall, I am satisfied. Employees were professional and prompt. I had to clean up some mess that was left behind. Also, I was under the impression that where there was old grout new grout would be used, and we had grout on hand. However, all areas were caulked.

Went very well, work was not difficult just needed someone to climb about 25 feet up a ladder and that is something we don't like to do. The tech finished about and hour early. He was professional and cleaned up after himself. We supplied the materials and had them waiting so he did not have to take time to go to hardware store. The only reason they did not get all "excellents" was it took so long for the work to be scheduled, almost a month! Then there was some confusion as the tech did not show for the first scheduled date as it was a little rainy but we got no call. We called JW and they rescheduled for the next week and apologized for the confusion.

The estimate was very high and we were told we would have to go out a buy the outlets and other materials needed after the technician would arrive at our house -- he would give us a list to go to the hardware store. OK, and why when the estimate was performed the person couldn't write down that we would need an outlet or other materials and what kind? Not sure. We followed up after the high estimate and asked of the work on the list, what exactly could be done for the $199 plus the estimate that would be applied. We never received an answer, even after calling/emailing a few times. We submitted our comments previously and requested a refund from Angie's List --which we received. We, of course, lost the $50(or so) we paid for the estimate. It's a bit of a bait and switch deal, in our opinion. They, and others, advertise a deal too good to pass up, and then reality sinks in. Not much work will actually get done for $199. A new manager called us a few months ago trying to get us to give them a chance, because they wanted to be able to turn around the poor review. We just did not have a good feeling about they way things were handled by at least a couple of staff, and we did not want to lose anymore money. My husband saw the same deal advertised recently and asked if I thought it sounded good. I reminded him of our first experience, and told him "no way". It's too bad, I hope JW can really turn things around because they certainly lost our business.

All projects were completed and done well. I recommend.

Great! I forget his name, but the guy showed up, was very nice, friendly. He did a great job in the allotted time, cleaned up and was off with a smile. I would use them again.

They were on time and finished on budget. Would definitely use them again

The person who came to do the estimate grossly underestimated what could be accomplished in 4 hours. Then the first handyman couldn't make the appointment, so they sent me 2 guys for 2 hours instead. After an hour and a half, they were both done with the items that had been agreed to by the estimator, so they left. That means that I only got 3 hours of work instead of 4. Also, the caulking job was not great, and I will have to have that redone.

The work done was of very high quality. The only problem was that it took seven months (and repeated calls) from initially signing up with the Angie's List offer to having the work finally done.

The caulking was done very neatly and continuously without gaps. Exactly what we were looking for.

Did not know an estimator was coming for the first visit so arranged life to prep the work area and remove family etc They did the work promptly but should have identified the estimator as visit #1.

Worker was on time and very professional. Cleaned up afterwards.

I'm very pleased with the work performed by Alberto and Kevin. They were knowledge and capable of performing the job at hand. I would most definitely consider JW Home Improvement for other home improvement projects.
