Description of Work: I bought a coupon for $199 of work. I asked about doing several repairs but could not find a job which did not involve more work than I wanted done.

Description of Work: I have used is company regularly, I always have Justin. He is prompt, a quick worker and very respectful. He does a variety of things from caulking, to changing light fittings, to installing LED mirrors.

Description of Work: We purchased an Angie's List "big deal" for $199 for 4 hours of labor from a carpenter to repair wood root in two of our colonial pillars. We purchased all the materials in advance (including pre-primed pine board and white PVC trim) so all the carpenter had to was cut the old wood out, size the new pine board and PVC trim, and glue the new pine board and PVC trim in. The carpenter finished the cutting and gluing in 3 hours, but it was too late in the day for another hour of work so he came back a couple of days later for 1 hour to do the calking and the sanding. The repairs were as I anticipated. We didn't want to spend a lot of money. The total time of the labor would have exceeded the 4 hours if I had asked the carpenter to prime and paint the new wood and trim where the cuts to size the pine board had removed the white primer. Instead we did that ourselves. This was a small job involving only one 1x12x8 blank of pine board and 12 feel of PVC trim.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal to have some work done on my deck. While JW was out for the estimate we had then look at some damaged drywall in our home. They gave us a fair estimate and scheduled a time to come back and complete both job. They returned to complete the job and they did so in an outstanding manner. I would use them again without hesitation.

Description of Work: Jesse came out to give me a time estimate and to see what projects I needed completing. He was prompt and professional. Alberto and Kevin were here yesterday for 4 hours completing a wide range of tasks in our home. Again, prompt and professional from both of them. | |My only complaint is that from the time Jesse came out to their next available appointment, it was something like 3 weeks. They need to hire to handle their workflow better or not run Angie's List deals when they are already booked solid. | |Will use their services again.

Description of Work: Needed to have some rotten wood replaced. His add said it would be $144 for two hours of work. Didn't take him that long to complete the project, but was worth my piece of mind to have the rotten wood replaced.

Description of Work: Exterior wood rot repair, replaced broken hose bib water pipe, repaired hose bib faucet, exterior painting.

Description of Work: Vent cleaning. Excellent service, I've recommended them to everyone in my building. John C Flood estimated $7500 to replace my AC unit but that was not necessary! Never using John C Flood again--horrible service, poor customer service, ripoff. For $199 everything was taken care of and my AC unit runs perfectly.

Description of Work: Repaired drywall and re-tiled shower. Had plumbing leak and ended up with several holes in walls plus opened up tile and drywall in bathroom shower/tub. All was repaired expediently and expertly! Very happy with our service!

Description of Work: Estimator was fine but I did feel the estimated time to complete the work was rather high. Since I bought 3 hours of work I wanted to get a handyman for 3 hours instead it seemed that the work had to be defined in advance and if he got done quicker you did not get to assign additional work.

Description of Work: The work to power wash my home was a 7 hour job for one man. We paid an Angie's List special price of $149 for the first 3 hours and $104 per hour for the balance of the work (total $565). JW Home Improvement's technician (Chris) was extremely professional and his work was exemplary. I would gladly invite them back for additional work and would recommend them to my best friends. This was a fair price considering the size of my home.

Description of Work: The estimate for the job came in over what I had expected so the deal I purchased became inadequate. I decided not to get this work done, but will continue to get estimates from JW.

Description of Work: JW Home Improvement did excellent work when my project was eventually completed, but there were definitely some serious bumps in the road. I needed some rotting wood trim around my garage and deck doors replaced. I purchased a deal through Angie's List and had a great experience with the estimator. I bought the deal in the winter, so we agreed the company would call me to schedule in the spring. I finally phoned the office in early June and was told they were about to call me. We agreed on a date. When the forecast called for rain, I had to contact them because they weren't proactive about rescheduling. Date number 2 rolled around, and no one showed up at my home. I never received a confirmation call, either. I phoned the office after two hours and was told they didn't know where the employee who had my job was. I had to call twice before they just rescheduled my appointment. Three times must be the charm, because on the third scheduled date the employee did show up at my home and even phoned to let me know he would be late when he got caught in traffic. I was very pleased with the work he did, and he seemed to go above and beyond to address loose siding he found that was beyond the scope of work. There was one piece of damaged trim that couldn't be replaced because of the way it was attached to the siding, and I was a bit irritated that no one pointed that problem out to me until the work was completed. I was under the impression that was part of the scope of work. Also, be sure to check your bill because I found out I was billed for an extra hour of work. The company quickly corrected that error and did offer me a free hour of labor on a future project to compensate for the scheduling inconveniences. There were some pros and some cons to JW Home Improvement. I will probably see what other vendors are out there for my next project.
