I had an excellent experience with Capitol Benefits. Josh Lavine responded promptly to my initial inquiry and was easy to reach throughout the process. He offered thoughtful advice in response to my detailed questions and helped us to find coverage that suited our needs as non-car owners. I was very pleased with both the scope and price of the policies that Josh located for us, and I'm certain that I could not have done as well on my own despite my fairly aggressive efforts to shop for coverage independently. I enjoyed working with him and certainly will contact him again in the future.

No muss, no fuss. Josh Lavine at Capitol Benefits was quick, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Of course with insurance, the product can only truly be tested if you ever have to deal with the company on a claim (and hopefully that never happens), but I feel like Josh was definitely an expert and found coverage that fit my criteria at a really excellent price.

They were very friendly. I got the letter, I called the office and talked to the receptionist, then talked to him. I got the information, and within a month I had insurance.

We needed health insurance, but had either been turned down for some plans or quoted outrageous premiums. Josh worked tirelessly to find us the best company, plan, and explain the policy benefits and pitfalls. (you know how long those policies can be!) He helped us find a premium we could afford with the coverage we needed and helped us with teh insurance company paperwork to ensure we were accepted to the plan of our choice. It took ahwile, bu t not because Josh was slow, it was the hlath insurance company that was slow and difficult. Use a broker! .

I contacted 3 agencies, 2 from Angie's list and one from the agent affiliated with the real estate company I was using. The last was the most expensive, and quite a bit so. Of the two from the Angie's List, both were responsive. But Alan and Josh from Capitol Benefits were very good about following up, and explaining their desire to give an accurate quote and thus collected much more information up front. Alan has been steadily responsive and helpful throughout the process, and I like the fact that I can do a lot of business online and through email.

First, we are rather selective shoppers on larger ticket items. Mr. Lavine has never shown any impatience or frustration with our myriad of questions and he was always very prompt in replying to my inquires for comparisons of plans and more information. In addition, we made several request for have new estimates prepared for new insurance levels at various coverage lengths and Mr. Lavine provided the information short order to allow us to make informed decisions. We were very pleased with the service provided to us throughout the entire process.

Our various insurance policies were through various companies and we were paying more than we should've been. We contacted Capitol Benefits after reading the reviews on Angies List. Josh called back immediately and was very responsive through both email and the phoen as he worked to provide us quotes and to update our policies. He handled the cancellations of our old policies and minimized the effort we needed to expend to start all of our new policies. I highly recommend Josh and his company.

Josh helped us identify health care plan options and put together a group of plans to meet the needs of my diverse group of employees. He does this at no charge to me (the insurers pay his fees). He then helped me identify a health plan administrator that has been very easy to work with. Further, he identified other benefits i was able to offer to employees on a non-subsidized basis that expanded our benefit options without expanding our costs. My employees have been happy with his service as well.

Josh has been very patience with me as I consider myself high maintenance. He never tried to oversell me. In fact, he lowered my coverage in some area b/c I was over insured. His quote was the best with an honest amount of what coverage I needed.

I am new to the No Va/DC/MD area; we are buying a house - needed insurance quotes for homeowners.+ car. Found this business on Angie's list; called, gave ALL information...never heard back. Other insurance agents/companies have been very prompt. Not this one.... I will not call back - too many out there hungrier for business, I guess.

Through several back and forth e-mails and phone calls, Josh worked hard to find a policy for us that beat everything else I was coming up with. In the end the homeowners policy he found had slightly more coverage than my best effort, though it was $3 more expensive. When the auto policy from the same company came back more than $500/year cheaper the decision was obvious. Working with an agent like Josh has the added benefit that we not have an advocate and intermediary with the insurance company itself to go to for advice when and if a loss or claim comes up on the new house, which will hopefully help prevent the circumstance we found ourselves in the next time.

A reliable, professional insurance broker that provides excellent customer service.

Asked for quotes for both standalone homeowners insurance and home + car. Had a brief phone call with Alan and then received a quote, which was the cheapest for the coverage level we wanted (auto was significantly more expensive than our current coverage -- which was true of all quotes received so it's not their fault -- so we went with homeowners only). Alan then set everything up with my mortgage broker -- it's been a very easy process and he's very responsive by email. Homeowner insurance premium ended up being around $60/month. Haven't tried to process a claim (we haven't even moved in yet) so I can't speak to that.
