Description of Work: Marcus and his movers were great. When our elevator broke down, Marcus rescheduled the movers for the afternoon so that the elevator could be fixed. When it broke again, the movers did the job by foot from the 6th floor of our building. They really helped us out in a bind. Very professional and responsive!

 + -1 moreMovers were punctual and responsive in their correspondence. They showed up a little late, but called to let us know they were running behind. They took care of moving the items without any problem. I would use them again. Nice to have a company that would take small moving jobs.
Description of Work: Movers helped us move a piece of furniture into storage, and move a heavy piece of exercise equipment to the solid waste disposaal.

 + -1 moreDerrick and James are excellent people to work with! They arrived on time and did the moving with great attention to details. Nothing has been damaged or scratched during the moving. We had some problems in dissembling the sofa bed, but they were able to figure it up instead of giving it up. They probably underestimate the total amount of stuffs to be moved, so they finished the moving in about 7 hours which exceeded their estimates. They called the manager and they were able to cut the price and made the final price close to what we expected. In general, it was very pleasant to with them!

 + -1 moreThe two movers John and Darryl were punctual and got right to work. They took their time wrapping fragile items in packing blankets and were careful with all my items. They were friendly but always kept a professional demeanor. Their work was efficient and it was clear they knew what they were doing. When they realized that the job was going to take longer than the estimated 3 hours, they quickly notified me--I appreciated not being surprised at the very end. (Clearly, it was a bigger job than was originally estimated.) Very pleased with the experience and would recommend this company's services to my friends, family, and coworkers.

 + -1 moreSmoothly!! They removed my daughter's belonging from a storage unit in Baltimore and delivered them to Manhattan. They said they'd arrive between 1 and 2 in the afternoon...and there they were at 1:30! They phoned continuously to keep everyone informed of the delivery status. Would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I needed a heavy piece of furniture moved from my car to the second floor of my house. I called three companies, each of which was going to charge $200 for the job. A Few College Men offered the lowest price (they would have been cheaper if they had been nearby that day).

 + -1 moreAlthough they were a little tardy in arriving, they quickly made up for it by getting to work right away. The loading went great, with careful stacking of pieces to ensure no damage would be done in transit. They followed me to the delivery point in McLean and helped the contractor unload (which was not expected). Again, no damage to white painted cabinetry. Even with travel time, we were done in about less than 4 hours. I gave them a good tip--well deserved.
Description of Work: Two guys and a truck with moving equipment met me at a warehouse in Baltimore. They quickly and CAREFULLY moved an entire kitchen cabinetry order without denting or damaging anything.

 + -1 moreThe crew (3 guys) that came to our house were one time and very polite. They all got out of the truck and introduced themselves to us. They started moving furniture around 9:00 am and were unloaded at the new house a little after 1 pm. We paid the exact price we were quoted! Nothing was damaged or broken, and they always asked where they should put a piece of furniture if they were unsure. All in all the best moving experience I have had, and this was my fourth move in 7 years!

Everything got to where it needed to be, and were accommodating when I asked that something be switched or added to the moving list. The guys were able to get a piece of furniture through a really tough spot, I though we were going to have to take it apart. Great work and overall experience.

 + -1 moreThe team arrived and scoped out the job. I recommend the walk through everything before the move starts because this allows the truck to be packed in an orderly fashion. If it had been raining, this would have been even more important. It is also good idea during the walk through to inspect what is being moved to avoid any issues regarding damage.
Description of Work: A team of three wrapped and moved furniture from three stories. The items were packed gently into the truck and then arranged to maximize the use of my storage unit. The price was within the estimate. The move took about 4 hours. Note that the price I paid included leaving certain items wrapped in pads provided by AFGCM. (The price does not reflect a tip that I added on my own.)

The whole move process was very easy and my contact with Dany was a complete pleasure. He accommodated all my requests and kept in contact throughout the entire move.  + -1 moreWe arranged a time by using email. Dany was very helpful and responsive to my requests. The price was quite reasonable given the time and distance his team had to travel, and the short notice I had given them. In addition, they called on the morning of the move to say they expected to be late due to traffic, gave me a new ETA, and arrived right on the new time. The guys were quite friendly and polite, answered all our questions, and moved efficiently and quickly. When they got to my home, they offered to help move everything back into position and did so carefully and quickly.
Description of Work: I needed to pickup and move a large carpet and several living room chairs from an estate sale in Virginia and move them to my home in Maryland.I would have done this on my own a few years ago, but I have had some seriious back surgery, which prevents me from doing such work right now. They wrapped the chairs and rolled the carpet and pad and transported them to my home, where they rolled out the carpet, placed it in position, moved the chairs into the room, and also moved several other pieces of furniture back into the room. Very thoughtful and thorought and polite!

 + -1 moreThese guys were amazing!! My husband got asked to move for his job very quickly and we had to call on these men 5 days before our actual move! I had to make the move alone with my 3 month old son! I was quoted for my 2 bed townhouse between 650-750. I spent $700.00. The only reason they didnt get an A from me for punctuality was they said they would be at my house by 9am and they showed up at 1030, but they showed up with 7 guys to make up the time! that was amazing!! They were so friendly and kept me in the loop all of the move! Thanks so so much!!

 + -1 moreOverall the move was excellent. Dany and his crew were very productive and worked hard the entire time. Our furniture was well taken care of and everything arrived intact which says a lot because most of our furniture is IKEA quality construction. In addition to this, Dany could possibly be one of the nicest people I have met and is extremely polite and professional.
Description of Work: We hired a few good college men to move us from our one bedroom apartment in Falls Church to our new home in Oakton. We had packed up and moved the majority of the things ourselves prior to our move date so this was essentially a furniture only move. Dany came with a crew of two other individuals and wrapped all our furniture before loading it onto their truck. In addition to transporting our furniture they helped us move some furniture that had been left behind by the previous owner of our home took a couch we didn’t want to the local thrift store for disposal. Overall the move took just shy of five hours; we had been quoted at four, but after seeing the amount we had moved I was very happy to pay for the full five hours but Dany stood by his quote and only charged us for four hours.
