Our electrician Fletcher was amazing! He communicated consistently throughout making sure that the job was performed exactly to my expectations. As he walked out the front door he changed two wall outlets bc there were a few minutes left in the time frame purchased.

I still haven't received service from them. They came out 10/18/13 to inspect the windows and said he was going to email me an estimate the next day. I still haven't received anything from him and I emailed him on 29 Oct 13 but still haven't received a response. I want a refund because services were never rendered.

Mr. Fletcher the electrician was very nice and professional. It started with bad communication between the owner, Michael Wiggs and Mr. Fletcher. I was told that they would do the service on a particular day and when I called to confirm I was told that it would be the following Monday when they could do the job. Mr. Fletcher show up on Monday to replace the lamps. Next day the lights will not turn on and I contacted Michael to ask if Fletcher could come back and re-check the lights, below is the response: WoW! Im sorry to hear that. That will not be a problem but I will have to charge you again for the research. Fletcher does not work for free. Our normal rate is 130.00 per hour minimum 2 hrs. however I can give you our Angie rate of 89.00 per hour minimum 2 hrs at 188.68. Fletcher has to be paid somehow. So if that is OK with you I will send him out. Call to let me know so I can reschedule his day. Don?t send an email because I may not see it. That was the last time I heard from them and as you can see no warranty at all on the services provided.

Our initial experience with this company was not very positive. We purchased a coupon from Angie's List for $139 for 2 hours of drywall. Angie's List had to contact the company for us when we had not heard from them after several days. We first worked with Mike, the project manager. He was fairly unprofessional. He had us on a list for another deal the company was running through Angie's List (regarding weather proofing) and he kept sending us text messages regarding our gutters, a service we were not interested in. When he arrived at the house, he did not introduce himself and didn't make it clear that he wasn't coming to do the actual work, but just to meet with us to discuss the work plan. Once I understood what was happening, he spent most of the time asking me to repeat my address so that he could put it into his various electronic databases on his phone and laptop (surely he could have done this back at the office as he already had our address before coming to the house). He first stated that he didn't think all the work could be done in 2 hours because of plaster drying time. I said that I wanted exactly two hours of work, and that my husband and I were pretty handy and would finish whatever the workman left. He then said that they project COULD be done in two hours. We set up a time for the workman to come the following week. I was very happy with the workman who came. He was prompt, polite, and professional. He finished the work within the time frame and cleaned up when finished. His drywall repair looked good. I would likely not use this company again, not because the final product was unsatisfactory, but because the company and project manager were not very enjoyable to work with.

A few days before the drywall work was to be done the service provider came and took pictures. The service provider indicated he would provide the materials that we could purchase. On the day the service was to be completed the service provider arrived after we waited for almost four hours. He never called, we called him after waiting two hours and he indicated that he was delayed on another order but he would come shortly. When he finally arrived he did not have the materials as promised.

This customer is right. We was late getting to his house. I had a worker assigned to this project. He was working at another customer's house in the am (2 hrs job) and was supposed to go to this customer's home in the afternoon. Unfortunately the AM customer was a little difficult and the worker stayed at the job far longer than he was supposed to without letting me know. [member name removed] could have canceled the job then but he waited until my employee drove from Connecticut ave NW DC to Laurel MD in rush hour traffic. No he did t have all the supplies but was willing to go to the store to get them. The customer was so difficult I recommended he cancel the project for these reasons. The placed to be repaired were not easily accessible and the size of the repairs we above the specification of the coupon and he was impatient at my initial interview with him. I felt at that time he would be a difficult customer when he was agitated because I ask for his information to log his project into my billing system. Ultimately it was a pleasure that he canceled the project upon my recommendation.

Appointment was scheduled for 8:00am. Technician called at 9:30 to tell me he was running late and showed up at 10:00. I had scheduled another more important appointment at 10:00, so the late arrival caused a real problem. Tech looked at furnace and said it needed to be replaced although it works fine. He did, however, explain why he thought it should be replaced and did take the time to show me where the problems were. Tech took numerous personal phone calls during visit.

There seems to be some memory problems. I talked to my technition and told he to never schedule exact time appointments. This appointment was set Between 8am and 10am. He showed up (within time frame) and went over unit with the customer. He went above the call by doing extra work on the furnace and gave he a free filter. According to the tech. the customer was happy with the visit. She was told exactly why the furnace needed to be replaced. I d not understand this review. I (Mike) make it my business to critically penalize all techs for poor customer service. With that said, I know everyone work above and beyond. I did the research and I know the character of the tech. I am totally confused. I also told the customer to call me if there was any problems. I didn't get a call but my company got this review.

Michael the main contractor showed up and reviewed my home. It was noted that its not my windows first that need caulking its insulation in my attic to start then my windows could be addressed. Also discovered that my electrical and plumbing could use addressing. Michael was full of advise and helpful information. At some point when funds are available I shall reach out to him for repairs. He appears to be a man of integrity and that's what I'm looking for.

I paid for a Tune-Up deal; I didn't get the tune up because the system needed re-wiring. The tech rewired the system, no problem and I paid the additional $40 to rewire the system on the same day. However, I still didnt get the tune up. For the past 3 weeks, I've received incorrect invoices for different addresses and follow up emails stating that I needed to pay. Each time, I replied that my balance was settled on the same day and the invoices that I'm receiving are for different addresses and different scopes of work. It is a headache to get late night and early morning emails asking me to pay for someone else's charges. I wouldn't use them again because I felt like this is the type of company to nickel and dime you. Also, they are unorganized. Who wants to risk a negative statement on their credit report due to the company's lack of organization?

I purchased the deal. When vendor was assertive about scheduling an appointment, at first I thought it was positive--good way to keep the process moving by keeping scheduling a priority. But once we scheduled and he arrived at my house with no work materials, I was confused. I don't know why we didn't schedule the work but instead he came to give estimate for work other than what I'd bought. (It's hard for me to schedule one visit, much less two.) Now, after talking with him, I see that this deal really is only about caulking, and he tells me caulking is really not what I need to weatherize. He offered to apply the Big Deal payment toward other larger work, but I'm not interested in an upsell. In my communications with this vendor, I have not appreciated his tone.

This customer is not totally honest. The personality that she is referring to is hers. I never met with her it was only by phone. the first conversation with her was a threat of suit if I Used the wrong caulk on her windows. I know this was not going to be a good fit. I never met with this customer so she was never inconvenienced. I met with her tenant who showed me the windows in question. The didn't need caulking, they needed more insulation around the openings. I make review appointments with all the customers to make sure we are able to meet their expectations also tom make sure that I tell my worker what needs to be done and where. When I sent her a email of the work that needed to be done to achieve her goal, her tenant wrote this "Mr Wiggs, I am not sure what your email response means, but (Member name removed)and I are roommates. When you and I were looking at the windows together it was to show you what was needed. (Member name removed) and I are coordinating on the weatherization. I do not have "issues" with the house. I was at the house that day as a coordinating process as she has more difficulty getting away from work than I do. I was also under the impression that (Member name removed) as my roommate had purchased your services. But when you arrived that day it seemed to be more of an inspection. Any estimate would be purely for any additional repairs, but the services (Member name removed) paid for should be administered with or without any higher level repairs that you identified. When I asked you to send the estimates it was purely for information purposes. I and (Member name removed) are still expecting the weatherization work to happen as paid for. Thank you I wrote "Mr. Emery, All I can say is wow. Maybe I used a poor choice of words to say issues. Maybe I should have said concerns. The reason for the inspection on all of the winterization is to make sure that each customer gets the most from the coupon that was purchased and to make sure the expected results are achieved and if they cannot be achieved to give reason why. The concerns that was expressed to me was air leaking around the Windows. The caulk on the Windows of concern didn't need any caulking. They needed weather strips. There may have been one or two that needed caulk. We also discussed the patio door that is racked and seeping air. You asked me to send the additional items that I listed. You don't have to purchase any of them. We will perform the services that was originally requested. However I don't think the coupon was purchased yet. No services were paid for, so there is no obligation on our behalf. However we will schedule the project. Please review the document that I sent earlier to see the services a and restrictions. After you assure us that you have the material I will schedule your project. Regards, he wrote "Apologies for the tenor of my earlier email. I may have misread too much into your email as well. I also read it and responded when I was in a very bad mood as the government furlough is impacting me personally. Apologies. So I set up the appointment Now this. All I can say is "WoW" again.

I was so pleased with everything. The inside of the house is fresh and renewed and the outside is now maintenance free. Mike's workers were prompt, pleasant, thorough, easy to have around and did great work. Mike was completely responsive....called often, visited the worksite, and was always available for consults, either in person, on the phone or by text. He also revisited my troublesome toilets, which he had repaired, to fine tune their mechanical parts. So happy with it all.
Description of Work: Mike and his fine crew painted my kitchen and wooden trim on my interior stairway and on the first floor of my home. He also replaced and painted the trim on my exterior with vinyl so I NEVER have to paint again. Mike (owner) was very professional. His workers were timely and respectful. When I pointed out issues I noticed, Mike made it a point to make sure the customer was satisfied and had his workers redo the job to my satisfaction. There was a small issue with one of the workers misplacing keys, but Mike was very responsive to find the keys and continue the job with little downtime. He wasn't the cheapest quote, but I do believe I made the right decision in picking City Renovations.

If you know what you want, then City Renovation is the company to work with. I had three estimates and the first two seemed like they were trying to humor me. Getting an actual estimate seemed almost impossible. Mike was my third contractor and we did a walk through and he gave me some recommendations but in the end he gave me an estimate of all the things that I told him I wanted done. I asked Mike how solid was his estimate? Mike told me that he if any addition cost came up within the scope of the job that I had requested than he would absorb the additional cost. Mike and his people was on time and punctual. I came to the job frequently at night and checked their handy work. I could see the job were progressing as scheduled. When I had to make adjustments, such as adding a new toilet and fixtures, Mike made the adjustments in a timely manner. When I had a problem with my floors and a complaining neighbor, Mike and his people handled it. When the property management came in for their evaluation, they told me that the condo was perfectly renovated and needed nothing done. If you know what you need done and you want it done that way, that Mike is your guy. I will use Mike anything I need to prepare my condo for any future rentals.
Description of Work: City was hired to do general contracting as I prepared to rent out my condo. City painted my entire condo. They also redid my bathroom, placing in new shower tiles and rebuilding the bathroom and kitchen floors and adding new laminate. City placed a new vanity, toilet, shower and tub in my bathroom. They also added some new light fixtures and fixed some small items.

I purchased the handyman deal. Worker showed up on time and attempted to put up mud on the ceiling of my carport. I figured 2 hours would be ample time to put mud on spots that was peeling. The worker started, and I came to check on him 45 minutes later and he was outside sweeping. I told him to put the broom down and put the mud on the ceiling...I figured cleaning his mess should have been done after he's done and not included in the deal. He started putting on the dryset the owner told me to purchase and it started to bubble he said it's not going to work and left. I texted the owner and called and left voice messages for him to call back because he was out of town. The owner calls back days later and he sent another guy over to give me 45 minutes of handyman services. I found something for him to do for 45 minutes so I wouldn't have just thrown my money down the drain. I wouldn't use this company again.

this is a 2hr drywall coupon. The expectations of this customer was far greater than the job would allow. The ceiling in the car port should have been torn down and redone. I was out of town and I took the customers description of the work to be done. Of course it was understated. I told her again, this job is labor only and completion is the goal but sometimes impossible. I also assigned a Project Mgr. to the job to accompany the worker. Remember the coupon is one person for two hours. The project Mgr. told the customer that the expectations could not be achieved and elected to stop spending the customers money. In her words, the work started to bubble. I send her an estimate to properly repair the ceiling. In return I sent an employee out to the house for another two hours to do other drywall work to satisfy the coupon. I spoke to the customer and understood her frustration but in no way did she loose money or not get service for the work as she stated in her review that we sent the worker back to do work in her bathroom. Her mannerism (ordering the worker around) was way off base but we responded politely. This customer is unreasonable in her expectations, overstated the truth and got her moneys worth in another project. We can only try so hard to accommodate our customers. Some are impossible. THE CEILING 20x40 CANNOT BE PATCHED. IT MUST BE TORN DOWN. UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT TO IT FOR 139.00.

Fantastic! Two electricians came to my house. They first tested the outlets to be sure the outlets I bought were the correct amp. One tech replaced the bathroom outlet which was very tricky. I have had problems for years with it. He said the wires were crossed but he put the new outlet in and I tested it and all was fine. The other electrician worked quickly and methodically in the LR and each bedroom. I asked him to vacuum out the dust in the hole before placing the new outlet in and he did without hesitation. The men were very polite, professional, and cleaned up after their work. It did take a few phone calls with the company and they did travel a far distance from their work site. so if punctuality and response time are critical to a customer, be prepared. I didn't have any issue, b/c their professionalism outweighed any tardiness. In the end the service done on my electrical outlets was superior.

I talked to Mike yesterday and he said he could do the work. Today I talked to Mike's electrician, Fletcher and he said he was waiting on a response for his boss to find a ladder. He said he doesn't think he has a 20 foot ladder for my home. Mike told me to tell Fletcher to rent a ladder, and where I could get a ladder. I think that it's ridiculous that I have to find a ladder when they are a contractor, and should have a ladder, and be the middle man between him and his electrician.

The confusion on the ladder is noted. Our electrician department that is assigned to Angie's list is strictly for residential. with that said we do no readily have a 20 foot A frame ladder laying around because we seldom get jobs with 20 foot ceilings. We tried to accommodate this customer in the short time window he wanted us to do the work however, we were unsuccessful. The rating was hardly done fairly. This customer's rating is extremely hostel given the fact that I was more than accommodating and informational in his continued search for the right electrician to provide the service. Sometimes i wish we as the service provider could rate our experiences with the customer so that future service providers can have an idea of the customer experience. The tales I could tell.

I smelled smoke coming from an outlet and was very concerned about the its safety. I noticed the problem in the evening - after hours. I called 4 or 5 electricians to get immediate service and none where available at regular rates. City Renovations offered me emergency service, explain the cost and provided an immediate solution to ease my concerns. Mike explain my options and guarantee a technician for first thing the next morning. The electrician arrived promptly the next morning. Assessed the issue and thoughtfully explain the solution, including the estimated time and cost. I was very pleased with the service provided.
Description of Work: Repaired burnt out outlet. Install new light fixture.
