I was very specific with my five needs (four from my home inspection which I read to the individual when making the appointment). As I started with my priority item, I was shocked they (two technicians) said they didn't do that type of electrical work (new outlet) but would call their boss to come out and give me an estimate. OK, move on to the second repair. The individual I spoke to at Reedy when I made the appointment stated he'd try to come out and look at the exposed wires outside the house as BGE may need to be contacted. The techs did not know if their boss actually looked at the wires, just knew I did not want BGE to be involved (which I never stated). They did place tape around the wires which another electrician (yes, I ended having a licensed electrician come out from another company) said was sufficient. Next issue was with the main electrical panel box. After examining it, they said they'd have to call their boss about what to do as they weren't sure. At that point I told them not to do anything with it. Moved on to an ungrounded outlet in the basement. After awhile (I was trying to work from home that day so was not with them all the time) one said he thought he'd have to run another wire. As he appeared uncertain I told him not to do anything. I should have cut my losses at that point but asked them to repair the ungrounded outside outlet. That took a considerable amount of time but was done correctly (the electrician from the other company checked it out). I asked for a bill and was informed one would be mailed to me. I then asked for an approximate estimate and was told $225. A bill arrived the next day for $336.79. Although I wrote a letter to the company about my experience and the difference in the estimate versus the actual bill I never received a response.
Description of Work: Out of the list of five electrical needs I discussed when making the appointment, the two individuals who came said they were not able to do two but would call their boss to come out and give me an estimate for one (new outlet) and the other repair required contacting their boss. They did tape exposed electrical wires outside the house and repaired an outside outlet that was not grounded. They appeared unsure about an ungrounded inside outlet-thought maybe they have to run another wire-so I told them not to do anything there.
