Mr. Wooton suggested that it would be best if he just disabled the switch rather than replace it given that the replacement would eventually just go bad again. He did confirm that we do not need the safety feature before he made the suggestion (i.e. we do not have children in our household that could be injured).

The office was responsive - they called within 30 minutes of me leaving my first message about my dying fridge. Daryl came when expected, diagnosed the problem with my fridge (it was hot and had defrosted everything in the freezer), and said he had to order the part. He also took a look at my leaking washing machine and squeaky dryer. The next time he arrived he fixed the fridge. The third time he visited he fixed the washing machine. Turns out nothing was wrong with the dryer, but by him taking it apart to look at it, he thought he'd rebalanced it. I've already recommended him to my sister-in-law, who had him repair her dishwasher successfully. Wooten Appliance is an excellent find!

They were just great. It was a simple thing and they came out and fixed it. They could have charged me an arm and a leg but they didn’t. This is a house that we bought two years ago and I never bothered to look at the refrigerator or behind it and it was so dusty and clogged up that it couldn’t get air to the compressor and so the compressor wasn’t working well. So the tech that came, could have easily said that I needed a new compressor, that it was a much more terrible situation or that I needed a new Freon charge but he didn’t. It could have been a lot more but he showed me how dusty it was, asked for a vacuum cleaner and just vacuumed all the dust out and it worked fine ever since. The honesty and integrity of the service was really great because I could have had a much higher bill. He was timely, the price was right, he was honest and everything was just as one would want it to be; it was a perfect repair service.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was fine.

I've thought long and hard about how much of what happened with Wooten Appliances I would write in this review. The problem was that if I told everyone the degree to which they extended themselves in the name of customer service, everyone would expect that same level of above-and-beyond service and they would go bankrupt. Then again, if I didn't tell everything, then people may not know that there are still service repair companies out there that really give a d*** when an appliance upon which we are dependent suddenly fails. I've decided I can't go into all the details -- you wouldn't believe me. I'll just share what made me choose Wooten over other Angie's List A-level providers: Each company I called about fixing my dying refrigerator quoted a service fee of $99. Wooten was the only one that would examine and assess TWO appliances for the same fee. My dishwasher was also on the blink but I had triaged that problem when my fridge went out, but when Wooten took this common-sense approach to customer service, "i.e., We're already going to be there so...," I knew they were the ones for me. Interestingly, Wooten did NOT repair my refrigerator. Daryl, the absolute angel-turned-technician, told be point-blank that he could fix it but the likelihood was that the repair wouldn't hold and I would waste my $600. He went into detail about why this was the case until I understood what he meant. Most importantly, I later googled my Frigidaire All-Refrigerator and found the model itself was discontinued by the manufacturer because of the exact defect Daryl had described. How's THAT for putting the customer first? Then, it turns out my dishwasher needed a reset. That's it...a reset. Daryl pushed a few buttons and on it came. He could have laid on the floor in front of it, flourished some tools, twisted some screws and wrote me up a handsome invoice, but he didn't. I sure hope he was demonstrating Wooten Appliance's commitment to customer service when he did so -- I'd hate to get him in trouble if it was just his personal kindness and consideration. But my early- monring and weekend email communications with Melissa in the main office make me confident he was doing just that. Keep in mind, I'm not going into all the details. There were additional service calls and time taken and efforts made under some extreme circumstances and at minimal additional expense to get an old back-up refrigerator I had in the basement running long enough for me to hold an important dinner party. All I can say is this: As long as I live in Baltimore and they're doing business, Wooten Appliance will be my service company. If they're not available, whatever I need will have to wait. I wish there was a rating higher than an "A."

He was checking the connections to the computer board on this dryer, and the thing came to life. He could have charged me for fixing it, but he said, "I don't know how that happened, so I can't charge you." How many government contractors would say that, let alone appliance repairmen?

Very well. Professional upon arrival. Sometimes took a day or so to get a call back from the main office but pleasant and professional. The repairs on dishwasher and washer have stuck while microwave panel broke again within weeks of the almost repair which the tech said would probably occur...so he jimmy-rigged it best he could as I didn't want to replace the $300 LCD panel-controller.

It was not in his service area, but he told me how to fix the problem over the phone with the proper tools step by step. He saved me money by not having to call someone to fix this. It was very nice of him to offer this.

Even though the appliance was over 25 years old, he had me read him the parts numbers from the manual prior to coming to my home. He came prepared with the part, arrived punctually after a call letting me know he was on the way, replaced the part promptly, and the appliance worked perfectly afterward. The price was very reasonable.

The service provider was able to repair the refrigerator plus give me more information about the overall operation of the appliance.

Carl came out to look at our 6 year old Maytag dryer because it was making loud screeching noises. He was quick to attribute the noise to a worn out pulley. He also showed me that the electric plug was charred, and suggested that we replace it along with the receptacle. I could have replaced it myself, but since he had to come back with the replacement pulley I had him bring a new cord and receptacle at the same time. Once he returned about 4 days later, the job was done quickly and professionally. He didn't charge extra to install the new cord and receptable, because the entire job was within his minimum time charge. The only issue I had was with timing. On the first visit, Carl arrived a bit after the time window, and if I had known sooner, I could have stayed at work longer instead of taking two hours of PTO to be home at the beginning of the service window. On the scheduled return, a Friday, he was scheduled to arrive between 9am and 11am, but early in the morning he called to say the parts did not arrive - he said that he could go pick them up and come back at 11 or if it was ok with us, he could come back in the late afternoon. I agreed but told him that we had a 6:30pm cutoff, and he thought that would not be a problem. So again I left work early to be home at the beginning of the service window (4pm). At 5pm he called to say he was on his way but probably wouldn't get there until 6, so since we had to leave at 6:30, we had to reschedule until the next day, Saturday. He did come right at 9am on Saturday as requested, and the repairs were completed within an hour, but I was a bit upset that I had used 4 hours of PTO that was unnecessary.

After assessing the problem as a defective switch, he recommended bypassing the switch-a simple but effective solution that solved the problem. Because he was a bit late he reduced his fee. I will call on Wooten Appliance in the future whenever we have an appliance problem.

We have used Wooten a couple times for some appliance repair - garbage disposal, dishwasher. Each time they responded quickly and fixed things for a reasonable price.

The heat element on the dryer stopped working around 9 p.m. two days before we were planning to leave on a trip. I called Wooten Appliance that evening and left a message, then called again the next morning and left another message. Stephanie called back before 9 a.m. to say that Daryl was in our area and would stop by. He came around 11, and quickly ran through diagnostic steps. He checked the fuse, checked the element, then checked the relay, which had failed. He had a replacement for the relay in his van, so was able to change it right away. Then he vacuumed out the blower, filter, etc., and the dryer was good to go. His whole visit took 30-40 minutes. Daryl is systematic, careful, neat, and knows what he's doing. We will definitely call him again.

He came out to do two separate things and did a good job. I would recommend the services to anyone.

It was exactly as he described and I'm thrilled knowing I don't need a new refrigerator. Note: He was able to squeeze in my service call last minute on a Friday, so him running one hour late was no problem at all.

Trouble in scheduling. I was dissatisfied, likely because I'm unimpressed with repair shops that seem to me handle only simple issues with recent appliances, and declare others as Do Not Resuscitate. With other services, when paid by the hour, they will explain. Or help me get the parts and take over - I've access to a fairly complete shop and used to DIY. I offered to pay by hour; Wooten said No. Perhaps he makes more money by screening for quick-fixes. I can recommend Wooten for notably well-mannered, simple repairs to recent purchases.

I was told that the he would arrive between 5:00 and & 7:00 PM closer to 7:00 PM, thank God I left my office early because he arrived closer to 5:30. He was very professional and I felt very comfortable with him. He checked out the dryer and asked about the squeak, I told him that the squeak was an on going issue but it was the heating issue that was the reason I called. He worked on the dryer and said he checked all the belts and elements and all was well. The next day, I used the dryer and it worked great but still had the squeak.

It was a pleasure doing with business with Wooten Appliance. The Office Assistant and the Technician performed in a proficient manner I was extremely pleased with the cost. If necessary, I will definitely seek their service in the future.

The technician was very polite and professional. He completed the job in under 30 minutes and the dryer has worked perfectly since then. It was easy to schedule an appointment the same week I called. I would definitely use this service again.

He was on time diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly

Mr Wooten did an excellent job. I would have given a perfect score except 2 things. He was about an hour late (I called and left a message and got a response within a few minutes explaining a repair ran long), no real biggie. Second, I had to ask for the Angie's discount even though I had already mentioned I got them from Angie's. Once again no biggie, it's just the principle. I chose them because of the excellent reviews, and was not disappointed.

Darryl came out and examined the dishwasher to identify the problem. He provided a cost estimate and let us have time to check around to see if we wanted to replace or repair the dishwasher. The service chare for the trouble shooting was stated in advance and wasreasonable. During the disassembly and examination of the dishwasher the explanations were clear and concise with no doubletalk or pressure. We decided on a repair and Wooten scheduled an appointment at our convenience. Darryl arrived on time with the correct parts. He was careful, courteous, and professional. He cleaned up when he was finished. The repair took less than an hour including testing of the work done to ensure everything worked properly and that there were no leaks. We could not be happier with the quality, courtesy, and professionalism demonstrated by Darryl and Wooten Appliance Repair for this repair job.
