Contact was easy. From the moment of reaching out via Angie's list, to the point of service, Wooten appliance was responsive, communicated clearly and arrived punctually. The mechanic was knowledgable and personable, and explained each step, as I watched. It was a quick fix that I would have not known about. He also gave me tips how to maintain my appliances better preventatively. I was very happy.

It took him about five minutes to diagnose the problem. Since it took him so little time, and it was not a problem that can be repaired he also checked my other large appliances. Very appreciated.

Technician came inside the scheduling window to fix a Kenmore dryer. The technician replaced the thermal fuse. He indicated that the blowing out of a fuse could be caused by something else being wrong with the dryer and said there was the possibility that he may need to come back if it blows again. While he was there, the dryer ran correctly. Friday night, we used the dryer for the first time and within 15 minutes, it was not heating again. To me, it is incumbent on the technician to diagnose the problem and fix it immediately. If the fuse blowing could be a result of many possibilities, those should have been investigated and a Band-Aid (replacing of the fuse) should not have been the only work completed on the machine. The charge for the Thermal Fuse was $47 and after a quick search of the internet, it is clear the markup on the part is absurd. Will not use-Will not recommend.

Things went smoothly. The technician arrived at the scheduled time. He asked for my assistance in performing a quick test. I asked questions for clarification, which he was considerate to answer. In the end, my microwave was completely fine, and the whole affair took less than 10 minutes. He had to bill me for his time, but he gave me a generous discount.

I researched the vendor on Angie's list and noticed that Wooten has a form on their website to request for appointment. However, I would like to speak to someone while making the appointment since the fridge is at my rental property. The RFA form does address such situations, but I would like to request the repair person to call me first with estimate before proceeding with repair, and the form does not allow for additional comments. I called the Wootens phone number at 2:30p, but call went straight to tape, and the tape said the best way to schedule an appointment was to fill in the web form! I tried, but was not able to get out of the phone loop to talk to a human. So, reluctantly I filled and submitted the web form at 2:50p. I received an email response at 3:23p asking for my credit card number and if they could contact tenant directly. (Notice they did not call me, even though I was available all that time.) I did not want to send them my credit card number on an email, so I called them. But, as expected, I was not able to reach a human. So, I left a voice mail with my concerns and asked that they contact me by phone. Since I still did not have any feedback by 4:30p, I sent an email to Wooten canceling the RFA. Someone called me later (around 5:00p?) and apologized for not being able to connect with me. It was just a bit difficult and frustrating trying to do business with them.

Darryl was prompt and professional. He showed me how I was using too much soap which was causing film build up. The last repairman from Bray and Scarff failed to put my dishwasher back together properly which caused it to not clean properly. Wooten diagnosed the problem immediately, had the needed part on the truck and I was ready to go in less than hour. I will definitely call them again in the future.

I was not happy initially with the scheduling policy. The office calls you up and gives you windows of tiime...ie 9-12 but cannot ask the driver to do the service at a specific time. They will put in a note but it is up to him to call you and he does so twenty minutes before he gets there. Further they are only in certain areas on certain days, so if you need a specific day you may or may not be lucky and get that day. I need the dryer fixed at my rental house...i do not live there....and need a day and a specific time to let them in, and simply could not get them to do that. Their repair guy was not at all pleasant to deal with, in fact he seemed very angry and annoyed to me, and talking to him to determine what was wrong was not pleasant. Even asking him questions was unpleasant and his answers were very short and barely sufficient. Clearly he is not happy with his job, or just angry in general, but I do not really appreciate the attitude especially when I am a customer paying for a service, and if it were not for me and other customers he would not have a job. Finally, I thought I should have been called with an estimate, however, I never was. He went out there fixed whatever he fixed and I got an email with an 77.00 bill.....which told me he actually fixed something. No one ever called me to say the dryer was fixed and for all I know it may or may not be fixed.....did anyone check it? I thought the package I bought was for repair, apparently it did not include parts? . If the charge was for parts, what was the part? It just says heater....but what does that mean? My package also was to include an additional appliance check....was that ever done? I asked for the washer to be checked....did that happen? I think this company has some work to do to make sure good customers like me do not feel the way I do and come back again for repeat business, because there simply is no way I would use this company again at this point.

From booking through the completion of repairs, Wooten Appliance provided superior service. Daryl arrived promptly, quickly determined the source of our dryer's problem, and made arrangements to get the necessary parts. In the mean time, he managed a temporary repair so that the dryer was working and safe. As soon as the parts arrived, Anna contacted us and scheduled the completion of the work at a time that was convenient for our hectic schedules. We would absolutely recommend Wooten Appliance and will certainly be calling them for any of our future appliance issues!

We called four other repair companies before we called Wooten and none of them would take this job because they said it was too complicated. I am so glad we called Wooten and we will absolutely call them again. They listened to the problem over the phone, did additional research to make sure they believed they could solve the problem, provided us with different pricing options to best fit our needs, were easy to deal with in making appointments, and the technician was wonderful! They don't have the most flexible of schedules (they only serve our area two days a week and gave us a four hour time window), but it was well worth it. Incredilbly professional and honest organization. A little pricey, but, again, well worth it. The service was approximately $130 (that included two visits) and $170 for the part.

That didn't go well, I ended up buying a new washing machine. The guy came out about 8:30, 9:00 and he repaired what he thought it was. He didn't test run it because it was so late. I didn't get a chance to test run it to see how it would go. The next morning when I get ready to run the machine it didn't work. It would fill up and it would keep washing and washing, it wouldn't stop. So, he said it was a timing thing and that's what it ended up being. If I had known that the night before I wouldn't have had all that water running down on my kitchen floor because the door is a front load and it locks. It was a mess.

This was unfortunately more of a saga than it needed to be, and part of it remains unresolved. We purchased an Angie's List deal for $139 for a large appliance repair, which included a complete diagnosis of the problem, up to two trip charges, and a standard flat rate for labor between 30-45 minutes on June 1, 2015, a few days after our oven seemingly shorted out. June 5, 2015 was the first availability a Wooten tech had, arriving at the end of his window that day. He diagnosed that our oven was broken due to a fried circuit board, even showing us where the connection had failed. At the time, they quoted us $204 for new parts to replace the board and faceplate, before taxes and shipping. Given that the oven itself retails new for under $600, we decided to start looking in to new ovens, and in the process, as looked at Sears PartsDirect (the oven is a Kenmore) to crosscheck the prices on the parts. We found the new parts on the Sears website for $116.82 before tax and shipping, for a total of $158.81 when tax and priority shipping was included. After circling back with Wooten, we were informed that their supplier didn't price match, but that we were welcome to purchase the parts and they would install them when they came in. They were clear that they would not offer a warranty on the parts since they were purchased through Sears. The parts came in and it was another several days before a tech could come and install them. This time, a different tech came, did the installation and... the oven still didn't work. Turns out, the element was also fried. The second tech thought it was odd that the first tech hadn't checked that, since that's generally where they start. To get our oven working, we'd have to order more parts and wait at least another week for them to be installed. Had we known up front the extent of the damage, we probably would have chosen to replace the unit, but at this point had already started to go down the repair road. I called Wooten to express my concern, and was told that the owner was on vacation, but that they were passing my situation along. This was another frustration - it was hard to get a hold of actual people sometimes, though Anna was generally quick to response to voicemail. The owner did eventually call back, explaining that he was the tech that had come out the first time and failed to diagnose the element issue because in 99% of cases, it's one or the other, and he happened to see the board first. He said to order the element and let him know as soon as it came in and he would personally install it, and agreed not to charge additional labor for what would be the third visit. So, back to Sears Direct we went (again, their supplier price came in significantly higher than ordering directly from the manufacturer). The element was $117.08, with tax and expedited shipping, it was $146.67. The part came in on June 16, and we called the owner directly to have him come out and install it upon arrival, as promised. Calls went unanswered, and we had to follow up more than once to get the visit scheduled. Three days later, on June 19th, he finally arrived at the house, did the installation, and our oven was finally working again. When all was said and done, I called Wooten to express my dismay with how the situation had played out. Between the incomplete diagnosis, 2+ weeks without a major appliance working, having to shop parts ourselves because their supplier prices were so marked up, and communication issues, we really were let down by the service. The owner was sympathetic, and did at least offer to refund the expedited shipping cost of the parts, since we A) shouldn't have had to make two orders to being with and B) didn't need the parts expedited based on their availability - they just sat in our house for a few days both times. Unfortunately, though we sent the receipts to Wooten back in June, we still haven't received the credit we were promised. So here's what it all boils down to: The good: - Our oven is working again. - Wooten stuck with their pledge to not charge additional labor for the installation visits. The not so good: - Had we had a complete diagnosis to begin with, we probably would have purchased a new unit (our oven is over 10 years old as it is). $139 for labor plus $158.81 for parts order 1 and $146.67 for parts order 2 comes to $444.48. For under $600 we could have purchased a comparable new range and not been without a working oven for 3 weeks. - Communication was an issue the entire time. They don't have a direct office line, so every time we called, we would have to leave a voicemail and someone would get back to us either via e-mail or call. I will say that while I would have preferred to get a live person when I called, as a general rule, responses came within an acceptable timeframe. - Scheduling was slow. This was compounded by the owner being on vacation during a big part of our service issue. Certainly understandable, but the time to repair was long based on their staffing. - Their supplier mark-up is unreasonable, and I find it odd that they wouldn't at least cross-reference/warranty parts from the actual manufacturer, which is who we ended up ordering from. - The final "resolution," the refund of our expedited shipping, is still somewhere in the ether. I hope that our experience is simply an anomaly and that others have smoother service than we did. Unfortunately, given our specific experience, I can't recommend them.
Description of Work: Our oven broke in early June of this year. We purchased a deal on Angie's list for a large appliance repair ($139 - note that price listed doesn't include parts, see below) and had Wooten come out to diagnose the problem. Three visits and two parts orders later, the issue was resolved, but not without unfortunate issues along the way.

Coordination and communication was very good to set up the appointment. The repairman arrived on time and completed the job quickly and very well. The problem is that it was our rental property and they did not call us to authorize service or price. We had to give our credit card info ahead of time. They charged us $115 for the diagnostic (which they did tell me about ahead of time and I approved) and then I receive another invoice for $125. I contacted Wooten and explained that I did not approve the charge and it was an extremely high price for services rendered. Their response was that they could schedule the repairman to come back and remove the ignitor switch and get a refund (really? because I don't want the oven to work?). I explained that would not work and asked if there were any other discounts they could provide since we are Angie's List members and military. They gave us a $20 credit which we appreciated but I probably wouldn't use them again.

They were very friendly, professional & thorough. They assessed both issues, advised me of my options, & gave me what I believe to be very good advice. The only disappointment was that I spent $159 just to figure out the exact problem. Now I have to spend another $157 to repair the freezer & approximately $400 to repair the washing machine. While I definitely would not hesitate to use them in the future, I would not buy another "coupon" that in essence only pinpointed what was broken.
Description of Work: Wooten looked at 2 different appliances - the ice/water dispenser on our freezer & our washing machine. Unfortunately they could not repair either on site as both needed parts that would have to be ordered.

The gentleman looked at the freezer, stated he couldn't fix it. He was very nice and polite, but we paid for the deal, but there was no repair honestly speaking. If you just pour the vinegar in the bottom of the machine, it'll rinse out right away. I thought that was a cool idea and am running a cycle like that right now. The machine is draining. There is no leak. I will not be washing every single fork and spoon I use. Thank goodness!
Description of Work: Neal called ahead to let me know when he was arriving. This was already a plus in my book! I had been given a window, but a call during that window to say when he was coming was something. I had another repair company come 3 times to fix this dishwasher and had been without it for 2 full months. Each time he came, he said it was fixed and there would be a new issue. $300 later - no working dishwasher. Neal came and took the time to look at all of the inputs and outputs. He moved the dishwasher out and checked the hoses, the water line, and the tipped it upside down. Turned out there was something blocking the drainage. He found this in less than 15 minutes vs. 3 separate visits from the other company. Neal was professional, smart, ingenious with coming up with ways to tackle problems. And on top of that - he cleaned up whatever water was leaking. He is an excellent technician. I am thoroughly and completely satisfied with my service. In addition, Neal told me a tip about cleaning out the dishwasher. Fill a small coffee cup with vinegar (white is preferred). But the cup (top up) in the dishwasher rack. The water will slosh in and out and the vinegar will hit all areas of the machine to clean it.
