Beware when working with PuroClean in Houston if you are a victim of the recent Harvey flood. In an attempt to save our flooded house in Katy, we met with Edward Lineaweaver from PuroClean at a local parking lot, where he talked us into signing an agreement worth more than $20,000 to demolish, clean, and dry the house. I made an initial payment of $2,066 on the spot with my credit card. Once left, I realized that I cannot really afford to take on such a debt. So I called two hours later, and I said that I was sorry and asked to terminate this agreement. But I was told that the initial payment is not refundable. I pointed out there are so many in town with flooded houses that need help. He will have plenty of work to fill in. My withdrawal will not cause any damage to him. But instead he kept pushing for doing the job for us, no refund. I called PuroClean Corporate office, and was told that they are individual franchises and the corporate cannot force him to refund any initial payments. I believe if someone is serious about running a business, they don’t have to make their money this way. The matter has since been resolved through a dispute process with VISA.
