MTB Pest Control

MTB is a small, well run family (father and son) operation. I called them on a Friday and spoke to the elder Mr. Brown who had a conflict and could make it out until the following week, but had his son follow up with me to arrange a time for the next day, so less than a 24 hour turn around certainly isn't bad. The junior Mr. Brown was polite and professional. We live in an interior DC row-house, which basically means mice are almost inevitable, but he was diligent about finding whatever holes they might be using to get into our home and setting dozens and dozens of traps (which have not yielded any mice and make me feel all the better about the hole patching!). He checked every closet and behind every piece of equipment to determine where the mice might running and where to place the traps. He was also very responsive to the fact that we have a very curious dog who would quickly find any traps left accessible to her during the day. To counter this issue, he left me a number of gloves and reusable traps that I could layout strategically at night and put away every morning. In addition, he was very patient and forthcoming with advice and additional guidance on how to manage the problem. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Because we've been seeing an increasing number of bugs in the house, we were excited about the big deal. Shortly after signing up for the deal, we received a call from Mr. Brown to schedule an appointment. The work was done promptly and professionally.

Mr. Brown came out, but in my opinion I do not feel like they did the right thing. They have come out twice and did not address the problem at all, I’m going to have to call someone else to get the results I was looking for. He came the first time and looked around, and I pointed out the worst spot where the mice were. He placed sticky traps but did not take the time to move any of the boxes in that area. He told me that they could be living in the boxes. I told him that I can still hear the mice and the traps did not seem to work, they must be in the boxes but he did not take the time to move the boxes which is very upsetting to me. I am afraid to get near the boxes and am going to need to call someone else to come take care of the problem so I feel like I wasted my money. I have sent him an email to address the problem and he has not responded thus far.

They were extraordinarily responsive and flexible in scheduling a visit. The price was reasonable and he did a thorough job of both treating my house and explaining to me what he was doing. He was very friendly, too. Since the visit, we haven't seen any bugs of any sort, and we will definitely call MTB again in the spring.

Was punctual, very courties!

They were always on time for each appointment. Beyond being very courteous, they were very respectful of our time and worked around our schedule. They gave us very reasonable estimates for their time and materials and they came back to assure work had achieved the desired results. They were also helpful in providing recommendations for other excellent craftsman for additional work that contributed to fixing the rodent problem. For example, helping us find a good carpenter to close some openings around the house they probably served as "doors" for our unwanted guest.

Milton (owner) was very responsive, he came to my property on a sunday afternoon after we heard mice running around in the overhead. He was very honest upfront and told me he might not be able to get the mice out. He assessed the situation and left traps. He said to call if we needed more help. He was much cheaper than the big corporate Orkin type pest control. I will call him again for any pest issues in the future.

I used the coupon for rodent removal. He was a nice guy, but all he really did was inspect the house and lay traps. I wanted someone to be able to tell us a little more about how the rodents were getting into the house and he was not able to do this. I do believe he is qualified and probably as good a value as you will find in the DMV area, but in my personal case he left without doing anything more than what I could have done myself. I am sure the rodents will return again next year, and we'll just have to take care of the problem ourselves. In general, I advise using the Internet to get the same help/advice you will get from a professional who will charge you a significant fee for such public knowledge. His professionalism is very good and I cannot overstate how great it is to be able to call someone that is a small business/expert, get them on the phone first call, and set up an appointment on short notice. That is a huge selling point for him!

I ended up not using Milton (MTB) to come to my rental. While his prices quoted seemed extremely competitive and he had great ratings on Angie's List, we just could not coordinate a time for him to him to come to my rental. My first phone call I left a message that was not returned (11/2/12). A week later I called again and we had a weekend appointment scheduled but he had to cancel due to an emergency. He did notify my tenants he would need to reschedule. (this part was great!) However, the last straw came when could not commit to meeting ANYTIME at all in a 2 day window mid-week when my tenants would be home, and this was with a week's notice. It seemed he was only available on the weekends. I realized nearly one month now of trying to schedule Milton to come out and him unwilling to commit to a day to perform the service, it was time to find another company.

We had termites in the garage of a 10 year old house. The termites had not actually eaten away any wood yet. We did see several live termites when we broke the mud tunnels apart that they were building. They treated the entire garage and under the front porch area of the house. We have a poured concrete foundation and they said it's not necessary to do the entire perimeter unless there is cinder block or wood at or below ground level (in so many words). They did a thorough inspection of the whole house, both outside and in the basement. We got 4 estimates and all were higher. They used TERMIDOR, which is the best product on the market. Now obviously, it is too soon to tell if it took care of the entire problem but we were happy with their approach. They will be back out to inspect in one year. They even suggested to us that we DON'T buy the warranty plans that most exterminators sell. They said the house is new enough and we have a good type of foundation and they are confident that the product they use will last 10 or more years. Of course, when they come back to inspect next year we have the option to buy the service plan/insurance.

Very well. We were impressed by his honesty and the difficulties he's had starting a family business and keeping it alive over decades. He understands the importance of keeping customers happy over the long term. We plan to use MTB again, and recommend it.

Milton is the best. He scheduled my Angie's List deal appointment very quickly and was accommodating when I needed to chance the terms from external to internal preventative pest control for my new home. He also was a very friendly and warm gentleman. I couldn't have asked for better service.

Purchased a 3-year prevention package for my home. Milton and his team inspected my home and treated the appropriate areas. I had Terminex at my old home and grew tired of their "one size fits all" approach. Milton was much more thorough and created a personalized treatment/prevention plan. Moreover, he worked hard to find a date and time that worked for me. Other companies that I have used either show up unannounced or offer inconvenient times. Milton is also very personable and is a pleasure to do business with. I will use him for any future needs.

It could not have gone better. Milton Brown set up appointment for me, arrived on time, and completed the process without a hitch. He explained the treatment process to me, as well as explaining that all the chemicals used were "pet safe:. Mr Brown could not have been nicer to talk to. He was professional and engaging, and he made the entire process a pleasure. I will certainly call him for my future needs, and give him an unqualified approval.

The inspection overall went great! One of the nice things i can say about MTB is that we scheduled an inspection on a Saturday for a Sunday inspection-- He was able to come out on such short notice. We wanted him to come by at 2pm but he said he said he can make it by noon to do the inspection. Although, he didn't actually get to our house until closer to 1pm and did not call us to advise he was running late. It didn't matter to us too much because we expected to be there later anyway. Milton was very nice and introduced himself to everyone at the house (very professional!). From what i observed he looked around the house and garage for any signs of termites-- Found none, gave us a good bill of health--- I can't say much else because all he did was an inspection--

Melvin sprayed our house and told us what we could do around the house to help solve future problems.

We were having big problems with ants in our yard. Front and back. Ant hills everywhere. Large and small ants. Our yard is all sandy soil so the ants love it. The problem was the fear that if we exterminated the yard that all the ants would be running into the house. I saw the email from Angie's List about Exterminating from MTB Pest Control and it seemed like a good deal so I called them. They responded right away and made an appointment to come out on a Saturday morning. That day they called to confirm and showed up on time. I spoke to the man about what my expectations were and also about my fears about the ants coming inside. The technician told me that he would secure the perimeter of the house first. (which he did by spreading ant poison around the foundation) Then he would attack the ant hills directly and spray the rest of the front yard. (which he did) He then went inside the house and sprayed the entire downstairs, along the walls, under the sink, inside the cabinets that line the floor. The conclusion is that the ants are gone and have not come back. Maybe they went to the neighbor's house..... It was well worth the investment of $150.00

i bought the deal on angie's list for $199 that said rodent "abatement." unfortunately, the service only included putting down some mouse traps. nothing was done to secure trouble areas. a one time follow up a week later was included, but instead of being called to come back, i had to call, remind who i was. a mouse was caught in one trap, but i had to remove that because it was before he came bak for the follow up. i could have laid some traps for MUCH cheaper and accomplished the same thing.i will say that milton was very personable and friendly, but the service was not worth the money paid...by a long shot.

He showed up exactly on time, when he said he would. He verified the services that I wanted to have done. He then went about his business and got everything done quickly. We haven't had any problems with bugs, so it has worked.

Mr. Brown arrived timely and was professional and courteous during the entire process. He pointed out areas I should watch for ants to return and explained what he was doing as he worked. I was extremely satisfied with the work performed and the professionalism of the company.
