John Burns is a gem! Growing up (from 7th grade through high school) I played pool on an original 9 ft Brunswick Gold Crown Pool table . I love the game. I went to college and moved on with my life but missed playing. All these years later I still miss pool/ Sadly, we never had a house big enough space for a pool table - that is until our recent purchase and move to the suburbs. When we bought our house - I immediately started looking for a pool table. I started on Craigs List and saw a lot of tables (from legitimate sellers) but the table that caught my eye was (supposed to be) a Brunswick Gold Crown (GC) - that unfortunately was suspect - confirmed by John as such. However, John helped me find an amazing "steal" on a GC IV that was being sold from a pool hall going out of business.It was DeJu Vu all over again - and the table is a beauty! Not to mention the price was amazing - even my husband couldn't argue with that! John purchased the table for me, put new felt in place (after thoroughly checking it out) and then transported it from Maryland to Clifton and spent the afternoon there putting it together. He was amazing - soup to nuts. A very classy guy! If you have a pool table and need to move or want to purchase one or need services for your table - call John. We are thankful that Angie's list led us to his very experienced expertise.

Our friendly movers showed up right on time and worked quickly to dissassemble our table and pack it up. They not only packed the table in to their van, but also offered to take the rug that went under it so we did not have to cram it in our car. Upon arrival at the new house they measured meticulously to be certain that the table was straight, centered on the rug, and positioned for the best game play. Three sets of felt were brought along and we were able to choose the one we liked best since we did not know what color was on the table when we scheduled the move. The table was re-felted and reassembled in just a couple of hours, and it looks amazing! We could not be happier with our experience. We wholeheartedly recommend Classic Billiard Service and will be using them for our next move.

John and his team of 2 were awesome. They were prompt, professional, nice and efficient. John responded quickly and called back when he said he would, showed up early, w/prior call and notice. At the time I contacted him, his schedule was out 3-4 days. He gave me a phone estimate (barring any surprises - table was relatively new but wrapped and stored in the garage for several years) and it was reasonable and competitive. That was the final price. Assembly was fast - not rushed but very efficient. The work area was picked up nicely. I would definitely call on him again.

When I called, his first date was a week away. His team arrived when expected. Their task was to disassemble the table, bring it upstairs and put it back together. The felt would be a return trip, as it needed to be special-ordered because this is a 9-foot table and I chose a special color -- only standard pool-hall colors are evidently stocked. This is not a knock on the shop They told me this in advance. I wanted to see the color chart before I ordered, and they gave me what I wanted: a chance to see the table in the room with the swatches under daylight. The felt took three days to arrive,during which John kept me informed of its progress. He made an appointment, conditional on felt arrival, and everything worked out for that date. John Himself came over to install the felt. He is a true professional who knows his pool tables and his craft. Indeed, I chose him to set the table up because he understood the table from my description and was able to identify it for me as an and quot;early 1050s Victor.and quot; This is the second time I have called on him. I originally chose him to set the table up downstairs because he understood the table from my description and was able to identify it for me as an and quot;early 1050s Victor.and quot; He even gave me good advice on how to replace the dry-rotted rubber on the original ball returns -- over the phone. So naturally I called upon him again, and again he did excellent work at a fair and reasonable price. He is my go-to -person when my pool table needs service in the future.

John arrived on time and set about the task quickly and easily. Job performed with precision and quickly without any household disruption. If one has a pool table, you want Classic in your contact list!

They were fine. They were professional and came out when scheduled.

They've been very professional. I live in Washington State and they're storing a pool table for me. We did all the planning and the execution over the phone and via email and they were very helpful, happy to help and I found them to be trustworthy. They gave me an estimate, I get an invoice when they deliver the table, and their prices are competitive. I've had limited experience with them so far though.

John Burns is fantastic and so are the two guys who were sent out for the service!!! I had to cancel the originally scheduled date as I had not closed on my new house at the time. John was understanding, but explained that he would lose money as he still had to pay the contractors regardless. I felt very bad and when I called to reschedule I said that I would pay extra for his inconvenience. John quickly said he could not accept any additional money and did not charge me any additional fee. These two personable and professional men came out to my house and very methodically disassembled the pool table and placed it gently into their moving van. It was as if they were transporting a very expensive possession of theirs. I was truly impressed with the care I received. When they arrived at my new house, again they very methodically retrieved all of the pool table parts and carefully refelted and reassembled the pool table. They took great pains to measure the distance from three walls several times for accuracy and did a superb job of refelting. I am absolutely thrilled with John, the guys who came out, and the company! The cost was most reasonable and if anyone goes anywhere else for this service they should have their heads examined. Two thumbs up and if I had a third, it would go up as well!!

John responded immediately to my initial e-mail. He showed up a few days later, disassembled the table and took the rails back to the shop. He was ready to re-install that Friday but I had to wait until Monday. He arrived on time with an assistant. My table frame was sagging a bit so he had to level the individual slates instead of just the table. The joints were waxed, and the table re-felted and assembled. John took care of things I would have never thought of, and is quite efficient and personable. I definitely made the right choice for the job and will use and recommend John at every opportunity.
