Overall this project was just short of a nightmare. The promised 2-3 week timeline became a 4 month project. I was pregnant when we started this so we moved out for 1 month - which according to his promised timeline should have been enough time for him to finish. He was rarley on time or working when he said he was. He would typically only work 1 - 2 times a week at our house after working at another site. When he finally got the point that we were frustrated he sent two workers to finish the project. When it was finally almost over he asked where I would like the cabinet pulls mounted - I showed him. I held it up to a cabinet and showed him. He put them in the wrong place- not just the wrong place - they weren't even! These particular pulls require that a hole be drilled through the cabinte door. When I asked him why he put them in this bizarre off center location he said that the directions called for that location. I then asked him why he didn't call and ask me what I wanted. His reply, "oh, I guess I probably should have." He then said he would fix it. I told him he could try on 1 cabinet. He filled the holes and sanded the door - it looked absolutely beat up. After his pathetic attempt I told him he was no longer permitted to touch the cabinets and that we would be deducting the cost of new pulls to cover his mistakes from the remaining money we owed him. The day after the project was "complete" our brand new sink was leaking. I called our plumber and he fixed the brand new garbage disposal that Marty incorrectly installed. We also had to touch up some of the painting as there were drip marks and it looked as if there was only one coat of paint on the trim around the windows and door.
