Work was done efficiently and expeditiously. The workers were experienced and polite. Mr. Wokenfuss was pleasant and accomodating.I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the appearance of the house. Now we have curb appeal. He was aware that customers like to have the work finished as quickly as possible so even had his workers come in on Sunday. We are now ready for winter.

I contacted Wockenfuss Painting Co. in early September to get an estimate for exterior painting of the trim, garage door, front door, and deck/fence of my townhouse. David Wockenfuss, the owner, contacted me immediately and set up an appointment for a free estimate the next day. David was on time for the estimate and took the time to get all of the information that was needed for the job such as the exact colors and if the job needed to be completed by a specific date. He also walked the property with me, explained how he would perform the work, and answered the many questions and concerns I had. David even asked why I wanted to paint the house because the current paint was in good condition. This is a great quality because many contractors would just complete the job and get paid rather than ask questions that could deter a potential customer. Through my conversations with him, it is also obvious that he cares about the quality of his work. I explained that I was being hassled by my HOA and may need the work done by a specific date. A detailed estimate was emailed to me within a day. The cost of the estimate was in line with other quality providers and the estimate also provided a completion date. After I received the estimate I had more questions and updates that I wanted added to the estimate which were always done without hassle and in a timely manner. I have always been able to reach David directly by phone and email and he returns voicemails in a timely manner. My HOA backed off on some of the painting requirements but I still plan on having the deck/fence stained but wasnt sure that it would be this year. Despite this Wockenfuss Painting Co. refunded my deposit in full with no hassle and indicated that they would honor the prices in the future should anything change. As soon as I receive formal approval from my HOA I will definitely use their services. Wockenfuss Painting Co. has been very professional, ethical, punctual, and responsive through the entire process. I definitely recommend their services.

The crew came and worked very hard. They fixed a place where the drywall had separated. They spackled the nail holes and old curtain rod holes. They applied two coats of paint to all surfaces. They completely cleaned up after the first day and again after the second. All furniture was replaced where it belonged. I received many compliments on the quality of the job especially as it related to the spackling - the folks who hung the new curtains and rods couldn't see the old holes. I plan to hire them again to do the outside of the house.

If you have a cedar or wood sided house - Wockenfuss Painting is the group to use to have your house painted. I could not be happier with the end result and the work they did. They cleaned the house well, spent a full day plus caulking and repairing / replacing damaged siding and trim - and then stained the whole house and trim. The job was done neatly and on time - professional and courteous crew - great to work with. After a couple of bad experiences in the past with painters - I could not have been happier this time around and will definitely use them in the future. Thanks for a great job - I am still getting compliments on how great my house looks now.

Good communications and timely estimate. Base bid was fair enough but after adding "options" (which other contractors included in their base bids) this estimate was the highest of the six I received by a large amount. David, the owner, was professional and pleasant to deal with.

From beginning to end it was a top notch performance. What a great group of workers.! Superb. Prompt, efficient, courteous. Our house didn't look this good when brand new.

I received bids from several contractors and Dave Wockenfuss was the best bid by far. Because of all the frequent rain this year, there were delays in getting to my house (understandable), but when the weather allowed (some of the hottest days of the summer, his crew worked diligently and expertly throughout the days. They completed the job in two days, which I felt was exceptional, given the conditions. Dave was amenable to adding services, for which I am grateful. He aims to please, is honest and trustworthy. Would not hesitate to use him again. Too bad he only does exterior work.

The quote was for about $1500 and we did not go with them because we got a better price from someone else. They were pretty responsive but they did not have a good number. They seemed to be on time and seemed to know what they are doing.

I called David Wockenfuss on Monday, June 17, and left a voicemail message explaining that I would like a quote for exterior painting of a two story colonial. I left my phone number and asked for a return call. It is now a week later...no return call.

First, there is always a written estimate of the work and it is always presented in plenty promptly after we've contacted them and provided the job details Second, because they have plenty of loyal customers, there are times when you may have to wait a few days for a job to get done; but that's the only reason to mark them with a "Good" instead of an "Excellent" in every category. Third, this is a crew that works well together. You can tell that the manager takes care of the crew and that he's always looking to ensure that they have plenty of work to do. That make a huge difference in the quality of the work that they do. I don't have to keep checking during the job and I'm often pleasantly surprised after the job when I see that they've fixed or straightened something that was a bit more but needed. Finally I've recommended them to friends and neighbors that I see all the time and I've never had a negative comment come back to me.

Dave came and provided an estimate and then came back the following Friday and completed all of the work and removed the window. He had the window repaired and came back the following week and reinstalled it himself. The price for all of the work remained at exactly the estimate even though he did not know for sure if his window man would be able to replace the glass in the window. I plan on calling Dave back for all of my inside and outside work that falls within his scope of business.

Wockenfuss is excellent! They are very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to deal with the cedar shake siding on my home. In fact, they are the only company that I would trust to handle the painting and cleaning of my home's exterior. Furthermore, they responded to all of my emails and calls, and they arrived on time.

They called, made an appointment to look at the job before starting. We made an appointment and they were there at the exact time. Finished in one day, no easy feat as we have 3 stories. Pleasant to work with.

We did not get a rapid call-back from him initially because he was on vacation. However, as soon as we did connect with him communication was excellent. We got two other estimates but found Wockenfuss to be the most most professional (as well as highly rated on Angie's List). We also knew he had done work for our neighbors.He was able to fit us into the schedule soon. He and his crew came as scheduled. There was a hiatus for several weeks due to rain, which was unavoidable. You can't do exterior painting in the rain. When the weather finally cleared up, the job resumed. Dave Wockenfuss supervised all work carefully. We were completely satisfied with the quality of the work. Our house looks great; the deck, which was mossy and ugly is now beautifully restored, and the dent in our garage door (from a hockey puck) was fixed. We paid the price as originally estimated. We recommend this firm highly.

We only got a quote. The quote was too high. We didn't use this contractor.

He did a very good job on the work and cleaned up afterward. However he would not honor the coupon that he advertised.

Our house trim had last been painted about 10 years ago and was definitely past-due for re-painting. Dave Wockenfuss' company had painted it the last time and he was the first (and only) contractor I called this time as I had been quite happy with his previous work AND saw that his recent ratings on Angie's list were excellent. Dave came out and looked at the house and quickly got back to me via e-mail with a detailed pricing list which gave a "base price" for the painting work (# 5 above) and separate prices for each of the other services we had discussed, which allowed to me to make informed decisions about what additional work to include. (For example, since our deck is structurally sound, but the surface is rough and will need replacing soon, I opted to have it power-washed, but not stained or sealed.) I felt very comfortable with the price Dave gave me because the price for painting was exactly what he had charged 10 years ago -- a sign, perhaps, of how competitive the home improvement market is right now. Dave specified, and used, an excellent quality paint (Sherwin Williams "Duration Lifetime" latex semi-gloss) which is well rated by Consumer Reports and gave a 2-year guarantee on material and labor. Dave's employees not only did an excellent job painting the house, they were also pleasant and professional in their conduct: they answered any questions I had and neither played loud music nor left the ground littered with trash. The paint job looks fantastic, and I couldn't be more pleased. I gave Dave a "B" rating on responsiveness only because we had some difficulty communicating about when he would start the work; since he had sent me the proposal by email, I presumed that he would check his email daily and thus was surprised to return from 12 days out of town to find my answering machine filled with calls from Dave asking when he could start, since I had not only told him when we would be out of town, but had sent him a very specific list of dates as to when he could do the work. And once we had agreed to an approximate start date ("early next week"), I was surprised to find Dave's crew knocking on my door early Monday morning -- I would have appreciated a phone call the night before, telling me to expect them; it was fortunate that I was home, as the screens needed to be removed from the inside of the house before work could begin. However, these count as minor annoyances, and in no way comprised the quality of the work. Once the job was underway, Dave was on-site periodically throughout the day and was great about answering any questions I had and keeping me apprized of how the work was progressing. He is a pleasant guy and I only wish I could talk him in to painting the inside of my house! I highly recommend Wockenfuss Painting.

They were very prompt, very hardworking and professional. They did not left with any surprises of re-doing the work or on cost. They cleaned up everything after the work.

David Wockenfuss had a team of very experienced and efficient workers who completed the job over 3 days. He was present for most of the work and ensured that everything was perfect. Although they were not the lowest bid, they were able to handle more than just painting (e.g. several widows had frame components that needed replacement) so that I didn't need to involve additional companies. The finished product was definitely worth the price. They are coming back this winter to do some interior painting.
