I contacted Joe to come out to my parents home for possible mold remediation. Joe was able to come out within a few days. After inspecting the areas he was able to diagnose the casue and said he would email me his estimate. After receiving the estimate my parents hired him to complete the work. Both Joe and his workers were very nice and did a great job. After cutting into the walls it was determined that it was just surface mold so all surfaces were scrubbed, including the carpet and air was filtered with air scrubber. The basement walls were then sealed. He suggested we get a de humidifier to take out some of the moisture in the air. I would suggest contacting Joe for any mold work in the future. Mold Gone was great.
Description of Work: Surface mold found in my parents basement and spare bedroom.

I cannot recommend MoldGone highly enough. I emailed Joe to explain my mold situation. He contacted me promptly to make an appointment to assess the problem. I had a leak coming from the vent pipe on the roof. This caused saturation of the attic insulation and, ultimately, mold in the ceiling and wall of my bathroom. The work involved removing all wallpaper in the bathroom, demolition of all the affected areas, and restoration of same....including the attic and roof. The work ethic of this company is exemplary. Joe was aware of how stressful this situation was for me, and he let me know that everything would be taken care of. And it was.....competently and efficiently. Mike, Joe's son, left me with a freshly-painted bathroom that looked sparkling clean and most of all, mold free.Thank you for a job not only well-done, but for the manner in which it was done. This company goes beyond professionalism...they care about your concerns. The whole crew is commended.
Description of Work: Removing wallpaper, wet attic insulation, flashings on roof. Demolition of walls, repairing leak in vent pipe, treating of all affected areas. Painting complete bathroom.

Joe was very honest about how small the job was (basically something that a handyman could have done), but I didn't want to take any chances because I have small children with allergies. He gave me an estimate within 2 days and we scheduled the job. The guys showed up on time and were very respectful, cordial, and professional. The job took a bit longer than estimated, but it wasn't a problem at all - they cleaned up assiduously after themselves and even went above what they were supposed to do by patching a small hole in my wall. The job was perfect. I am happy to recommend these guys to anyone needing mold remediation work. They know how to run a business - by connecting with people and putting them first.
Description of Work: I had a gap in the roof flashing over my bathroom. Subsequently, the leaks caused a small growth of mold in the attic and the ceiling drywall. I called Mold Gone and Joe came out to inspect it. They repaired the flashing, removed and replaced the ceiling drywall, and removed and replaced the attic insulation.

This is a top-notch company that I recommend highly. Mold Gone is reliable, punctual, competent, and trustworthy.
Description of Work: Mold Gone tested air spores in my basement, storage area, family room, screened porch, and outside air. A few days later a very professional, thorough analysis was sent to me via email. Joe assisted in explaining the report and provided a detailed summation of what would be required to remediate the problem. Joe did not employ scary or high pressure sales strategies. After a date was set, Joe and his team came in a performed the clean up. They were very thorough, careful, and hard working.

While having an old radon remediation system replaced in our house, the work people discovered that the box that had sealed the sump pump had mold in it. We emailed Mold Gone to ask them to come out and give us an estimate. Joe promptly emailed us back and coordinated setting up a time to give us an estimate. On the day of the estimate, Joe showed up on time and inspected the problem. He looked at the mold and said that it was simply topical. He said that the walls themselves were dry behind the drywall and really we could just get some spray from home depot, or somewhere like that, to take care of the mold. He was very honest and when we offered to pay him for his time he thanked us but said that would not be necessary. We would definitely use Mold Gone again if we ever discover mold in our house.
Description of Work: We found mold in a box enclosing our sump pump and we had Mold Gone out to look at the problem and tell us what was needed to resolve the issue.

I liked the guy who came out. He was very nice. They had to remove everything that was in the basement out of boxes or other containers and repackage them and put them in a pod. They seemed to be very careful and thorough about how they handle the mold.

The inspection went fantastic. Joe showed up on time and started right to work. While his equipment was doing air testing he was able to show me what he had found in the property. The inspection was over 2 hours and very thorough.
Description of Work: Mold gone conducted mold testing through out a house I was looking to purchase. Joe tested all levels of the house (3 story) and conducted a visual inspection of the property inside and outside. He provided photographs and a written report.

I found MoldGone on Angies list on Dec. 20th and called Mr. Muliere. On finding out the circumstances Mr. Muliere said he could be at the house on Dec. 23rd between 10 AM & 12 noon and he arrived promptly at that time. After going over the basement he said he would send me a proposal that afternoon and could begin work with his crew on Monday, Dec. 26th and would coordinate the time with the electricians who were also working at the house. I received the proposal the afternoon of Dec. 23rd and it was for half the price I was quoted by another company. Not only did the MoldGone crew do a wonderful job remediating the basement but they had completed the job by Tuesday evening. The new owners were so impressed by Mr. Muliere and his crew that they hired him to reconstruct the basement for them. Our real estate agent again, so impressed by Mr. Muliere’s company, she will refer any of her listings that require mold removal to MoldGone. Keep in mind that all of this was done during the busiest holiday of the year for a less expensive price and a job well done. Oh yes, the settlement went as planned on December 28th thanks to these wonderful people at MoldGone and their spectacular service.
Description of Work: We were desperate to find a reputable and reliable person to remediate mold from a house that we had sold and were to settle on Dec. 28, 2011.

We were first time home buyers in Ellicott City, MD and Joe at Moldgone provided mold inspection and testing on two houses for us. On the first house we contacted Joe while we were under contract and going through inspections. The house was located in a shaded area with lots of humidity and tree cover, and we have allergy issues, so we thought to get a mold inspection and test. We learned about Joe through Angies List. Joe and Mike came out to evalute the property. The visual inspection looked okay. But, the air sample tests came back with high mold levels and evidence of toxic mold. This was a surprise to us all. But Joe calmly coached us through interepretation of the report, and even put us in contact with the microbiologists who evaluated the samples. Even though it might have been better business for Joe to encourage us to proceed with the home purchase (since we would undoutedly go with him for the remeidation) he did not, and rather said it was up to us. But he made sure we had all of the information necessary to decide for ourselves. We eventually decided to move on to another home. Called Joe again for the mold inspection and testing. He pointed out some problem areas on the new home, but suggested they could be handled fairly easily. So we recently moved in to our first home! Joe is professional, punctual, tremendously knowledgeable, a pleasure to work with and most importantly he has his clients best interests in mind. We could not recommend Joe and MoldGone more highly.

It went well. It was relatively easy to schedule an estimate with Joe. He arrived on time and reviewed the bathroom and adjacent bedroom. I talked with him about what I wanted to do and discussed my concerns with him. Based upon that and what he saw, he reviewed a scope of work with me and we agreed. He told me that it would take a few days to prepare an proposal before he left. After a few days, I prompted Joe for a proposal and he delivered one. It was more expensive than a competitor's offer, but based upon the positive reviews on Angie's List and my conversations with Joe, I felt comfortable going with Mold Gone. We scheduled the work relatively easily and they were great about working with our schedule to do the work on a Friday so we could keep our son out the house for a couple days afterwards without too much disruption to his schedule. They arrived on time and in force -- they brought five people to perform the work. Joe came and reviewed the scope of work with his son, Mike, who was the crew lead. They set up and performed the work. There was one mistake. When removing the shower/tub unit, they broke a pipe and water started flooding the bathroom. We shut off the water and Mike went to Home Deport to get a part to seal the pipe. He did seal it and work progressed while he was gone. Visually inspecting the bathroom/bedroom afterwards, everything looked great. Stripped down, cleaned, dried, and painted with a coating. There was no odor and the product they used was approved for use "in hospital nurseries". They offered to leave the air scrubber at our house over the weekend if we wanted and we took them up on it. Mike came back to pick up the scrubber when it was convenient for us (which turned out to be Tuesday). I hope to not have a need for their services again, but if we do, we'll go with Mold Gone.
Description of Work: We discovered after moving in that the downstairs bathroom tub was not draining properly. The drain was leaking into the floors and we had water damage in the bathroom and an adjacent bedroom. We did not see any mold, but our son is asthmatic, so we took that precaution and went with Mold Gone to rip out the tub, damaged floors, damaged walls, and remediate the affected area. The scope of work was: •Site Preparation: The bathroom and adjacent bedroom areas will be contained from the adjacent areas using 6 mil Fire Rated plastic barriers.o Supply and return air vents and other openings in the treated area will besealed off with 6 mil Fire Rated plastic barriers.o A commercial-grade air scrubber will be deployed 24/7 in the adjacentbasement area during remediation. • Structural Remediation: Following initial site preparation, the bathroom shower/tub and underlyingwalls will be removed and discarded. The wall immediately opposite the adjacent bedroom will be removed as well. Exposed insulation willalso be removed and discarded.o Following demolition, the exposed wall cavity will be treated with abroad-spectrum disinfectant to kill existing mold. Visible mold on underlying wood members will be removed via appropriate technique,e.g., wiping, wire brushing, sanding, etc.o Following initial treatment, the wall cavity will be sprayed/painted witha fungicidal coating/encapsulate that kills residual mold, inhibits future growth, and acts as a moisture barrier.o Lower wall portions, including trim and other material, will be removedon the immediately adjacent bedroom common bathroom/bedroomwall. Lower portions of the bedroom closet (and associated trim) will be removed and discarded.o Warped and cupped sections of the cork floor immediately adjacent thebedroom closet will be removed. The underlying floor will be washedwith a fungicidal agent.o HEPA vacuuming of the bathroom and immediately adjacent areas will be ongoing. •Debris Removal:All debris will be bagged by MoldGone and removed from the treated area.Homeowner/client agrees that a roll-off dumpster may be deployed to facilitatedebris removal.

I had experienced mold damage from basement flooding from Hurricane Irene in August 2011. I did not realize that I had a mold problem due to limited mold visibility and the eliminate of the moldy test until I had a mold test performed in late September. The teast revealed high levels of mold spores in the air of my basement. I eliminated the moldy smell by removing and throwing away the wet carpet the day following Hurricane Irene; washing the floor several times and treated it with vinegar and water; and finding moldy items in the basement and throwing them away. However the mold test revealed I have a serious mold problem. Out of four quotes, Joe provided me with the best mold remediation solution and best price. His son and partner, Mike, did an excellent job managing the project and leading the team that performed the remediation. They were highly professional, timely, and responsive to all my needs and concerns. They were eager in assuring that I was satisfied with the job. I would rehire them and recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: Mold Gone removed mold from the baseboards and drywall along the baseboards and remove mold higher on the drywall in one area of the basement. The company treated the molded areas with mold treattment solution; replaced the drywall and baseboards; cleaned belongings remaining in the basement; removed/trashed moldy belongings as agreed; painted wooded areas with white mold treatment; wiped down, fogged, and disinfected the entire basement and performed an after treatment moldtest of the air quality. In addition, Mold Gone treated the area under my kitchen sink and a bedroom ceiling that revealed a little mold on the mold test.

We had water damage and mold growth from some heavy rainstorms and a poorly draining gutter. After scheduling an appointment, Joe arrived promptly and performed a thorough inspection and expertly diagnosed both the existing mold problem and the source of the water/moisture causing the problem. He gave as an extremely fair estimate below others we had obtained and a timeline for completion. Joe's son Mike and his team did an amazing job removing all mold damaged drywall in our basement, coating with fungicide, and restoring our basement to new. They put customer satisfaction as their number one priority and would not complete the job until I was satisfied. Aside from the extremely professional job they did, I cannot express enough in words the kindness and confidence displayed by Joe and his son in a stressful situation for us. I would certainly use them again and recommend without reservation (although hope never have to go through this again).

As noted above, Mr. Mulieri is a wonderful, decent, gracious, kind human being - and (because of his generosity in not charging me anything for the service call) I highly recommend his mold-removal services, even though I did not have a need for these mold-removal services during this particular service call.
Description of Work: Mr. Joe Mulieri was very professional, courteous, and helpful. I made an appointment with him for mold-removal services estimate and cleaning. He came on a Saturday to do the estimate and potential mold removal from behind my kitchen fridge - but upon arrival, he quickly determined that there was no mold behind the refrigerator. It was simply an accumulation of dust and dirt, and there was no need for any mold removal or cleaning services. Mr. Mulieri did not charge me anything for his service call. In fact, he was very kind, gracious, and a perfect gentleman, with a wonderful sense of humor. After all, it is very rare, nowadays, to find any service-related manager or owner, such as Mr. Mulieri, who is decent in this manner. For the above reasons, I therefore highly recommend Mr. Mulieri's company and services to everyone.

After I had mold remediation done by Maryland Waterproofing and Radon Reduction, I noticed I still had a reaction when I went down in my basement. I have allergies and asthma and am sensitive to mold. Since Maryland Waterproofing did not have any warrantee on their mold remediation, I looked on Angie's List for businesses that specialized in the field. Mold Gone had good reviews, so they were one of the first companies I called. Joe, the owner, came out and looked at my basement. In a matter of minutes, he found black mold in places that the MD Waterproofing salesman and workers had not even bothered to look. Mold Gone's estimate was quite reasonable and Joe seemed the most knowledgeable and thorough in his examination of my basement, so I hired him to do the work. There was a huge amount of black mold in my basement that the first company simple did not take the time to even look for. Mold Gone ended up tearing down most of the drywall because the mold was so pervasive. They also found mold that the first company had not bothered to scrub off, but had just painted over. After the work was completed, the basement was thoroughly cleaned. This was not something the first company did very well at all. Here is what I learned from this experience. I hired the first company because they did both waterproofing and mold remediation. I just didn't feel like taking the time to find two different companies that specialized in each job. I ended up losing money because of this. The first company did not specialize in mold and they really did not know how to do a competent job. If I had taken the time to hire a specialist in the first place, I would not have had to pay to have mold remediation done twice. I would like to add that all of the Mold Gone employees were respectful, well mannered, and seemed to work well as a team. I think that is because they all knew what they were doing.
Description of Work: Thorough mold remediation was done in my basement.

While getting an estimate on attic insulation the estimator and I noticed mold all over the roof sheathing. After being in the attic for about fifteen minutes overall, both of us were coughing for at least an hour after we came downstairs. I was worried that it would make its way downstairs and irritate my sinuses, as I have had allergies and sinus problems for years. It was far too large of an area to do it myself, and clearly I would have needed special equipment to do the job properly. I don't know anyone else personally who has had a mold issue, so I found Mold Gone on Angie's List. I contacted Mold Gone to give us an estimate on remediation. Joe, the owner, made me feel at ease when we met and as he inspected our attic. He used a respirator to go into the attic. He had clearly encountered this situation many times before and told us that it would be a straightforward job. He was able to come and do the job 3 days after the estimate. He and his partner worked for five and a half hours, containing the workspace with plastic sheeting so that the mold spores wouldn't contaminate the rest of the house, and thoroughly vacuuming the carpet in the room where they worked as well as the stairs down to the front door. Our entire attic is now encapsulated and will inhibit any future mold that would be tempted to grow. He gave us advice on what we need to do to stop the high moisture levels in there, like getting our bath fan to be vented outside rather than into the attic, and getting a temperature-controlled fan to promote airflow since we only have one gable vent and no ridge vent. I went up into the attic to check things out a few days after work was completed and noticed that a portion of our roof is leaking. I mentioned this to Joe in an email and said that i was worried that the leaks would cause the mold to return after we just had all that work done, and he called to tell me that he knew people who would be available to get the leak repaired for us. That was a lifesaver, since I tried contacting roofers who were unavailable for quite some time.
Description of Work: We had mold removed from the roof sheathing and wood joists in the attic, then painted with an encapsulating fungicidal coating. We are also going to get Mold Gone to install a temperature controlled fan to aid airflow problems since we currently only have one gable vent.

I hired an Industrial Hygenist, who tested and found mold. I used Angie's List to find companies with the highest ratings in Mold Remediation. I contacted three companies for estimates of which Mold Gone was one. I called Mold Gone on 11/3. Joe Mulieri called back within two hours, asked for the mold remediation protocol report, which I emailed to him while we were speaking on the phone. He emailed back an appointment time for Saturday, 11/5 between 9-11am. The original agreement was to perform the estimate on 11/5 and that a written estimate would be emailed on Saturday night, due to a recent three-day window opening during the week of 11/14. My original goal was to start and to complete work before Thanksgiving. He arrived at 10:45am, looked at the front of the basement, asked me if I knew that it would be several thousand dollars. I said yes. He also stated that it would be a three day job. He went to examine the back of the basement and asked if the Industrial Hygenist had been back there before making his mold protocol report. The Industrial Hygenist had seen and examined the basement and I stated so. In the back of the basement, Mr. Mulieri saw a crack in the wall, and stated that his company could not do any work until a waterproofing company came in first to take care of the crack. This made me a bit frustrated, because I would have to find a waterproofing company, get an estimate, get the work done, call Mr. Mulieri back and then schedule the work. After looking around the back part of the basement, which is primarily used for laundry, sewing items and storage and therefore is unfinished, he stated that there was mold everywhere. The linoleum mat beneath the washer and dryer would have to be disposed of separately because it probably contained asbestos and his company did not handle asbestos removal. He followed up by using a water meter tester on the cement floor, (in the path where the water would have travelled during the event which caused the mold) to demonstrate that the cement floor was saturated. He then used an LED flashlight to demonstrate how there was mold on boxes in the back and that and the white spots on an antique bench in the front of the basement were mold. I knew (and had photographs from the Industrial Hygenist) about the mold and water damage in the bathroom and the basement closet. He had me look farther into the back of the closet to prove that there was mold on both sides of the inside wall. He gave an verbal estimate of 8,000 for the basement and 5-6,000 for reconstruction after returning to the front of the basement. He asked about my mother's age (which both she and I found a bit odd), told both of us that we should not move or touch anything, but put stickers on items for removal by his company. In addition, if we did spend time in the basement to put stickers on items we wanted to save, we should use respirator masks (not the simple white N-95 masks that are usually used). I was satisfied that he gave a thorough visual estimate, but troubled that he was so certain that the paneling would have to go before work was even started. Given his statement about needing waterproofing and Thanksgiving travel plans, Mr. Mulieri stated that we were looking at December to start at the earliest, with a more probable timeline of mid-December. He left stating that the estimate would be emailed within two to three days. Five days later (11/10), I received an email at 8:43pm stating that we hadn't been forgotten, that my estimate would be emailed the next day since and that he thanked me for my flexibility. On Thursday evening, (11/10) I received the emailed estimate at 6:54pm . I was not able to open the attachment, however I was able to view it partially. Two factors raised red flags. 1) The Industrial Hygenist Mold Remediation Protocol report (which requires that mold clearance testing be done post -remediation) was not mentioned. In fact the estimate included Mr. Mulieri's own protocol, with no mention of the work meeting clearance standards post remediation. 2) There was no mention of the Materials Safety Data Sheet, a requirement for contractors, so that if there is an allergic or other type of medical reaction to any substance used during the remediation process, the ingredient list can be utilized for an effective diagnosis and treatment. 3) The deposit of $2000 (which was fine) but the required final payment would be due at the end of remediation, before a clearance testing would be done. Since Mr. Mulieri knew that we would be using the protocol provided by the independent third party and I specifically stated that there would be testing afterwards, I was very surprised that this was written into the contract. Based on Mr. Mulieri's concerns regarding the scope of the protocol and comments about mold, I had two follow-up visits with my insurance mold adjuster and the Industrial Hygenist 's company: 1) On 11/11, the mold adjuster for my insurance company came at 9am. He saw the protocol report, and I took him through the same areas Mr. Mulieri saw, including the crack on the wall. He gave his professional opinion, which was that the crack (present for at least twenty-five years) could indeed be sealed, as the first Industrial Hygenist had recommended, with Vaulkum an outside hydrolic waterproofing cement. Second, he saw water damage and examined with more tools to determine if there was additional visual mold not mentioned in the protocol. He saw none. 2) On 11/13, the senior manager and Industrial Hygenist came out to re-inspect the protocol area and the entire basement. He stayed for over two hours, which was longer than Mr. Mulieri did and I examined the area with him. I wanted him to review the parts of the basement where Mr. Mulieri implied that the previous Industrial Hygenist had not done due diligence in finding mold or evidence of mold. The Senior Industrial Hygenist, like the Insurance Mold Adjuster found water damage in the back and the primary mold damage in the front. The levels of mold present in the basement were not as high (nor were the off-gasses nearly as bad as they had been a week prior), in part due to having the basement aired and certain water damaged items photographed and removed. After the visits, I was still seriously considering Mr. Mulieri's estimate from Mold Gone, because his presentation was thorough to say the least.. I received a corrected PDF attachment on 11/13. This morning (11/16) however I received an email that I consider a blatant high-pressure selling attack: "I'm not sure of your schedule, but I will need to know today if you are going to want to have the project done the week of 11/28-12/2. We currently have three days open that week, 11/28, 11/29, 11/30. I have clients who want those dates and are offering deposits to secure the schedule. I wanted to give you an opportunity to grab those days but again I will need to know today. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks" First, I went by Mr. Mulieri's original dates of early to mid-December. Second, I do not do business when these types of tactics are used. I am still waiting on estimates from other companies. The original estimate was sent on 11/10; the attachment of the that I could open was sent on 11/13 and the request for an immediate decision was sent on 11/16. This method of sales is not an ethical business tactic, although it is used often. This is something I learned years ago in graduate school in my marketing classes, and what I teach my own students not to do. Sincerely, Dr. Carla-Elaine Johnson--- --- Update to Mold Gone Provider Response: I take meticulous notes and I stand by my earlier statement. In addition, your response did not address the file sent nor the comments made by the Industrial Hygienist.

Response from MoldGone LLC
Our goal at MoldGone is to provide superior service to EVERY customer that we serve. Based on the input from our customers, which is a key ingredient to our operational policies, we have been successful in that area. In this case, we provided our best estimate as to the requirements to bring the basement back to a healthy condition (the actual proposal was far less than the number quoted by this potential client). There were numerous problems in this basement that were not addressed by the prospective client during the interview or in the Certified Industrial Hygienist report. For example, the crack in the basement wall was such that you could see daylight (to the outside). I realize that it can be frustrating to a potential client when you inform them that you don't do certain types of work. At MoldGone, we focus on our core competency which is the removal and treatment of mold. We also do reconstruction related to demolition and other mold removal/treatment specific activities. Waterproofing or asbestos removal are not, however, part of our portfolio. Those are specific and separate disciplines and should be addressed by entities that are specifically trained, experienced, and organizationally established for that purpose . Regarding asking about the customer's age, the client interview is critical to any evaluation. The elderly, young, and other individuals with unusual health profiles are particularly sensitive to elevated fungal environments and should be identified. Every competent mold re-mediator attempts to gather as much information as possible about the property's inhabitants to determine special or unusual requirements. Regarding high pressure sales tactic, that simply is not the case. Our inspectors view many potential projects every day. We provide service based on 1) available resources, and 2) first-come first-serve. It is the most equitable way I know of to serve customers. I offered these dates to this customer because they opened up and the client indicated they were in a hurry to have the project done. I do ask potential customers to confirm they want open dates because there is significant demand for service. We provided our estimate and assessment to this prospective customer, at no charge, and consistent with best practices. Although we believe the input in this report is unwarranted, we nevertheless appreciate any and all customer input. Joe Mulieri President/CEO MoldGone, LLC

We had about $25K of water damage at our home from a clogged roof drain. Water ripped through all the floors and traveled behind walls causing some mold issues. The owner Joe took numerous samples inside walls and ceilings (and air samples) to isolate and then proceed to access and eliminate the hidden mold areas. It required diligent repeated testing to ensure the mold counts had been sufficiently reduced / eliminated. He came back to our home several times to gather additional testing samples which could not have been convenient for him, but was necessary to do the job right. He was more professional, accessible, and accountable than most contractors I have dealt with and I would highly recommend him.

He was very professional, and totally honest. He pointed out slight mold under the bathroom counter near the pipes going into the shower, but said that was not caused by the earlier leak; but by condensation forming on one of the pipes. He suggested we spray the area with a fungicide. The hole we cut out in the living room ceiling had only a one inch wide piece of mold that he said could be totally fixed by cutting that out before replacing the drywall. He then tested the two areas in the garage and said they tested dry, and were only isolated mold that was not spreading, and told us to spray it with another product and cut out one of the two 2' by 3' pieces of drywall. When i offered to give him a check for his services he refused to accept anything. Amazing to deal with such a professional and honest person. This is his second career, and you can tell he is only interested in doing what is necessary, and not in making a profit at the expense of his customers, unless there is a a real problem. A terrific experience. Thanks, Joe!
Description of Work: We had a leak in the shower that went into the living room below. The plumber saw some mold and asked us to get a mold remediation done before he'd come back. We also have two spots in the garage that have a large dark color. Joe came out at the exact time we arranged and spent an hour with us testing and reviewing all suspected mold.

They were outstanding and accomodating in every way--end of story. I had zillions of questions before the work was done and all were answered promptly and politely.
Description of Work: We had mold in our basement. But, in addition, we had over 50 years of junk down there--all of which had to be moved and most of it cleaned. They were outstanding in everyway. I do not know if the price was good or not as I had no other estimates. I liked and trusted them immediately and went with them. as to the c ost, I keep something like that private and besides, it would have no bearing as you would have to know exactly what was done to see if it was a good one. I just cannot tell you how responsive and accomodating this crew was.

Joe and Mold Gone came to our rescue. A couple of months ago, my job moved us to Pennsylvania. We were marketing our home and on one of our weekend return trips we discovered that a condensation drain pipe on our HVAC system had become plugged and water was in the basement, sheetrock, carpet and baseboards. We had a contract for the sale of our house and the buyers had small children with mold sensitivities. I contacted Joe to do an assessment. Joe was right on time and did an outstanding job of explaining the conditions that could lead to mold development as well as steps that could be taken to minimize future problems. Joe prepared a proposal for remediation that also included pre and post remediation air sampling. We accepted the proposal and the job was completed in two days. Joe went above and beyond the call of duty and helped us get the house to a safe condition for the new buyers. A number of air samples were required to satisfy the buyers and Joe adjusted his schedule to make sure samples were collected and results were back in time for settlement. Two days prior to settlement, we also had the opportunity to deal with another challenge of replacing a leaky hot water heater. There was water in the basement and Joe was able to adjust his schedule, bring a commercial dehumidifier and commerical fans to the site and get us through the challenge. Words can't explain how much we appreciate his efforts. He talked to the buyers as well as the buyer's real estate agents and helped them understand and become comfortable with the efforts and steps we were taking that allowed us to move forward on the sale and settlement of our house. THANKS JOE!!!
Description of Work: Joe and Mold Gone removed molded sheetrock in a HVAC closet, replaced new sheetrock, cleaned and sanitized the entire basement area (ceilings, walls and carpets) and painted the remediated area with a sealant. Additional sanitizing was done to other areas of the house as well. Joe also took pre and post-remediation air samples at the site of remediation. To ensure that mold had not spread through-out the house, additional air samples were taken through the house.

Joe was extremely helpful. He was willing to come to my home on a Sunday to look at a mold situation in a wall from a leaky window. He advised me on what needed to be done and that I could handle the job myself much cheaper than going through a contractor. He referred me to a company for obtaining the proper mold remediation supplies and I was able to correct the problem myself for considerably less than what many companies would have charged. Thanks for the excellent and friendly service.
Description of Work: I was concerned about a mildew smell and possible mold that I believed was developing behind the drywall from a leaky window.
