I needed to redo my back yard and decided to add a concrete pad. I called Columbia Concrete for the job they responded and David came over to give me an estimate. After working on all the permits for it the company started the work however there were a couple delays due to rain. Overall the did a great job.

When the 26 year old front stoop and sidewalk failed,cracked in 2 separate areas and began sinking thus pulling on the house's foundation. I called several contractors. David Bell of Columbia Concrete gave the most comprehensive explanation of what he and his company would do to remedy the failing front stoop. The Columbia Concrete team were prompt and courteous,they even went out of their way to reassure and calm my apprehensive dogs. They removed the bushes that impeded the stoop removal they even cut the bushes up and disposed of the branches.They then went on to remove the front stoop. The concrete stoop will be poured tomorrow. This team is Terrific!

They were great! David , the owner of Col Concrete came to our house 3 times to fine tune, with my husband, the complicated project plan that my husband put together. He patiently went over the details each time , had excellent suggestions, and had excellent command of all of the technical details required to accomplish what we wanted. The whole project was completed in three days. One to create the whole concrete staircase. The second to lay the brick risers. And the third to mortar in and grout all of the bluestones. He and his crew were wonderful to work with and their attention to detail was great. And all for a very reasonable price. (And we are cheapskates..... :) ). I highly recommend Columbia Concrete for any masonry project!

Dave Bell made it a very simple process. He first met with us at our location to discuss the job; a couple of days later we received an estimate and, a couple of days after that, Dave placed us on his calendar. He was up front about not being able to come out to do the repair immediately. Given David's solid reputation in this line of work, I expected to wait. In the end, the driveway was completed over a span of two days and after waiting around 30 days (mostly for the weather). A couple of other thoughts - Dave Bell is a super busy but if you give him a day or two he will respond. The best time is to catch him on his cell first thing in the morning or anytime via email. Even if you think he may be slow to get back, please remember that he's an expert and a professional. He's taking his time with another customer to ensure all of his/her needs were met. He will extent the same courtesy to you when your turn comes. Patience, respect and common courtesy go a long way with Mr. Bell. He does the best he can and you can be sure to be happy at the end.

I contacted Dave thru AngieList and promptly setup an estimate. He quickly provided a verbal estimate and followed up with the formal proposal within a day or two. I was gathering other estimates and Dave checked on me a few times to see if I had any questions. He did not pressure me into anything and let me know he was ready when I was. After several estimates I decided to go with Columbia Concrete because I felt good about the work Dave explained to me and he came in at a very reasonable price. Originally I was told that upon signing the proposal that he was a few weeks out on scheduling which I was fine with but to my delight he was actually able to get me in the schedule earlier within a few days of signing the proposal. Dave and his crew showed up when they said they would and Dave communicated very well with me the entire time. The slab was formed and poured on a Friday and they came back out the following Monday to remove the forms and saw cut the joints. The work was performed with the best quality and workmanship!!! Dave is a fellow perfectionist which I appreciate. When work was completed for the day all the work area was cleaned up and left the same or better than it was before they arrived. Dave is a straight forward, honest contractor and I would not hesitate to use or recommend him to family or friends in the future. In fact...I have another project cued up for them already.

Our local HOA/COA was in a real pinch. During the summer of 2013, the HOA had contracted a small concrete contractor to replace several sections of concrete sidewalk throughout the community. To make the story simple, the concrete contractor we chose was delayed in completing the work, and, was completely unresponsive when it came time for them to remove the concrete dumpster they had been using. Said dumpster was on our parking lot for well over 3 weeks without any sign of the contractor. In time, the HOA/COA learned that the dumpster was OVERLOADED with concrete, which prevented the dumpster from being hauled away. To make matters worse, due to the extended period of time the dumpster was left unattended, the dumpster became a dumping ground for surrounding persons to put trash and household items. This was a unique situation, and one the HOA/COA was not sure it could have managed without the assistance of a local, reputable company. What the HOA/COA needed was to have the overloaded concrete taken out of the dumpster, all the household items and debris taken out of the dumpster, and all taken away off site. This is where Columbia Concrete came in to help. David Bell and his team quickly responded and performed the work to its completion. Their price was competitive, but, more importantly, they were responsive to our needs. With such a unique situation, the HOA/COA was not sure it could find another company willing to clean up another company's mess. Well, they did...and they did it in spades! If we ever need concrete work done for our HOA/COA, or, need to recommend a concrete contractor to our private residences, we will certainly point them in the direction of David Bell and Columbia Concrete. Job well done indeed!!!

Dave was one of several contractors that I contacted to receive a quote after another contractor poorly removed/installed my walkway. When Dave arrived, he was professional, personable, knowledgable, and very helpful. On 4/27, as promised, he came and removed the existing walkway. The job was pushed back a few days because of the weather but as soon as it cleared up, the job was completed. The new walkway looks great!!! I have no complaints!! I would definately recommend Columbia Concrete.
