Emergency Services Offered
Services we offer
Trapping and removal of urban wildlife including squirrels, groundhogs, flying squirrels, snakes, birds, raccoons, opossums, pigeons, bats, skunks, beavers, foxes, rats, rodents & mice.
Was initially called to remove two ground hogs that had been living under a ground level deck over the winter. Non-leathal traps were set and baited and both were captured within two days. Unfortunately within a week of their removal, a third ground hog had moved in. Traps were laid and baited. It was caught within a day. Another week later, a fourth ground hog had moved in. A third set of traps were set, this time the ground hog moved on it own accord and was not caught. During the visits, the trapper gave ideas on how to deter them in the future. So far it has worked.
Description of Work: Ended up removing 4 ground hogs from under a ground level deck over 3 rounds of traps.

For a few months we've had birds building a nest underneath the siding on one side of the house. Realizing I couldn't do it myself, I started looking for a professional company. I sent a message to Adcocks, requesting contact by email
Description of Work: I asked whether they could remove a nest from underneath siding. I was given a quote for an inspection. I thanked them and said I'd check further.

Once I called we were able to get them to come out and examine the issue. The technicain gave us a detailed write-up about the problem and outlined our best course of action. They spent a week checking the traps each day and at the end they were to come back and fix the work. The only Issue I had, was that the office should have called me to schedule and appointment to do the work. I had to fillow up so that the squirrels would not eat into the temporary closure. Overall, we had a very good experience and my husband, children and I are extremely pleased with the outcome. No more scratchy noises and no more squirrels!!!
Description of Work: We had squirrels in our walls that came in throught the attic. Both the person on the phone that I explained the problem to and the field technicain understood the problem once I descriebed it. They are extremely knowledgable about dealing with wildlife and made me feel confident that they would be able to address the proble. Sunsequently they were able to trap the squrrels and fix the damage done by the animals.

They were awesome because they come by to assess the situation because, again, we weren't sure if they were actually in our attic or what and then advised us where they were actually at, then if you want to hire them, they instantly setup the trap that day and lure the animals into it with food without the door coming down just to get them views in coming in and out getting food and then they set the trap door after a couple of days. So it was a mother squirrel and 5 baby squirrels. It was nice to know that they didn't just kill them. They trapped them in the trap, relocated them and came by the house every single day to check the trap. They were pleasant and talked to us each time we happen to be outside and then they told us step by step what they're going to do ahead of time and then they followed up and did it. Such a yucky situation, they made it painless. They were very effective. As a matter of fact, I just referred them to my neighbor yesterday.
Description of Work: We thought squirrels had got into our attic but they actually made a home up inside so we used Adcocks Trapping Service for animal removal service. They trapped the mother and baby squirrels out of the roof of our house, relocated them, and then repaired the hole where they were getting in to our house.

I was very pleased with the thorough service, competent manner and helpful advice. I will definitely call them again if the need arises.
Description of Work: Called Adcocks Trapping Service because we heard suspicious noises in ceiling between first and second floors and in the attic on a couple of occasions. The Adcock service technician was very thorough in examining the attic, roof, basement and exterior of the house to assess whether there was any noticeable activity. There was none though he noticed that the attic fan was broken and lacked a screen to prevent animal access. While there was no evidence of raccoons or squirrel activity in the attic, he placed a black trash bag over the rooftop attic fan. The service tech returned several days later to observe whether any animal had disturbed the trash bag and there was none. The Adcock service technician provided an estimate for repair/replacement of the fan but also noted that was not the typical service that they provided. He recommended that we contact several roofing companies for that repair.

Overall, the service provided by the Adcocks team were outstanding. They were actually a pleasure to work with, & they did their job & performed their services in good humor.
Description of Work: We awoke on Sunday morning, Dec 16th, to the sounds of a critter crunching away on our ceiling joists above our bed. We looked in our attic, & we couldn't see a source. So, we thought perhaps the noise was coming from outside our bedroom wall where we have a rolled up sunshade mounted on the side of our home, above our second-story deck. We went out on our deck, & we saw no evidence of an "attack" of any sort. Before we went back in the house, I leaned out over the edge of our deck & looked up to the top of the gable end of our home, & I saw our gable vent on the side of our house was virtually gone. Half of the plastic vent was completely destroyed & missing. Shortly, thereafter, we saw a couple of squirrels darting across our roof & into nearby trees. After we saw the squirrels, since we live in a subdivision, we began searching for a pest/animal trapping removal service thru Angie's List. The search help us find a number of different providers; however, Adcocks Trapping Service was the only provider that answered their phone that Sunday. The Adcocks rep explained their services, & we ask them to stop by & make their evaluation. Dean arrived the next morning & confirmed the culprits were the squirrels. He also investigated our attic for any serious damage the squirrels may have done (i.e. chewed electrical wires, nesting, etc...), & he confirmed there was none. He then set traps out on our roof & used peanuts as bait. This started a daily process where one of the reps would stop by our, check the traps, remove any squirrels, reset the traps & then take the squirrels over to the eastern shore where they would be released. Meanwhile, Dean had covered the damaged vent w/a unique one-way "door" that would permit the squirrels to crawl out of the attic, but it would prevent them from re-entering the attic. After approximately six days and trapping six squirrels, they replaced the one-way cover w/a temporary total cover. If any industrious squirrels remained in our vicinity, then they would have to chew thru the cover to enter the attic. After a couple more days of further checks w/no evidence of damage, an Adcocks team came by & replaced both of our plastic gable end vents w/new, heavy-duty aluminum vents. When the repair was complete, you couldn't tell they'd been replaced. Since Adcocks completed their services, we've had no further problems with squirrels.

Excellent experience. Prompt service call, very professional, found the source of the problem quickly. The trapper thoroughly explained how the entry occurred, and the options for solving the problem. Humane traps were set in multiple locations and as promised they were checked on schedule over a 7 day period. (it took that long to successfully trap all of the squirrels). The repair team worked quickly. Adcock's has my highest recommendation.
Description of Work: Successful trapping of 4 squirrels that were inside my house which involved setting and checking indoor and outside traps every other day. Discovering how the squirrels entered and exited the house; repairing the hole in the roof structure ; and re-screening the the house vents to prevent them from being a future source of entry

"John" called 1/2 hour prior to arrival as promised, and he arrived in the appointment window. We reviewed the reason for the call, and he stated that he would check the home exterior and attic. It was very windy, so he wasn't able to inspect the roof for access holes for rodents to enter. I was confident that no holes would be present, as we recently had roof repair by an Angie's List firm. John inspected the attic, listening, looking, and found no evidence of rodents. All the insulation was as from installation. No tunneling, no pellets. John inspected the house exterior, and found no access holes, but recommended to insure that where pipes enter the home, the hole is well insulated. Whilke no evidence was present to indicate a pest problem, he placed 2 rodent snap traps in the attic as "sentinels" just in case. He took his time, was patient,. answered all questions, and I am confident he properly assessed the situation.
Description of Work: We heard scurrying back and forth in our attic, starting from about 1 A.M stopping at about 5:00 A.M. We thought it could be rat/mouse or racoon, not squirrel as they hop. We heard no squeeking sounds. I called one firm on Angie's List for pest control, and they stated they don't remove the pests, only kill 'em. They recommended Adcocks Trapping Service. I checked on Angie's List to see if they were there, and they were "A" rated, local, so I definately called. They gave a same day appointment window, and I waited.

Service went very well. Braden of Adcock's Trapping checked my roof and attic for possible animal entry. Fortunately he did not find evidence of entry and determined that the noise on the roof came from acorns falling on the roof. He checked the roofline and determined that some repairs were needed. He provided a repair quote, which appears to be very fair. He also, cleaned the gutters (no charge) since he was already on the roof. I thought that was very kind. His kindness will ensure that I will use Adcock's for the repairs and any future problems.
Description of Work: I suspected that I might have squirrels in the attic. I contacted Adcock's Trapping, since I had a previous positive experience with them. They are very professional.

We recently moved into this house, and on the first night we heard some small animal activity coming from within the walls or attic. We made a note to call an exterminator, but after the first 2 nights we never heard the noise again, nor did we see any evidence of animals inside the home, so we didn't make it a priority. But then, I found a small animal (yikes) in the lower level of my house on a Saturday night, around 11:00pm. I panicked, ran out of the room, stuffed a towel under the door and left the house. On Sunday morning I called Adcock's Trapping Service, to schedule someone to come out and perform the animal removal. The associate on the phone was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I was surprised that anyone answered the phone on a Sunday morning! The associate on the phone gave me the choice of having a technician/trapper come out that day, and pay an extra fee for emergency service, or wait until Monday. I opted for the emergency service. The fee for a home inspection was $95.00, which we were told would be applied to any subsequent service we might schedule. The $125.00 emergency service fee was extra. The technician, Don, came out within a few hours, went into the barricaded room, and identified the animal--a flying squirrel. He then got a pair of sturdy gloves, went back into the room and in very short order came out with the animal in a humane but firm grip and released it back into the woods adjacent to our house. This was exactly what I had hoped for. I subscribe to the philosophy that there is no need to kill an animal that finds its way into our house unless its presence creates an imminent danger to us. Adcock's website seemed to offer services that would be consistent with these views, and that is why I chose them. After removing the flying squirrel, Don did a thorough inspection inside and outside the house to determine where the animals might be getting into the house. He went through each room, even closets, went into the attic, got up on a ladder and looked at the roof line all around the perimeter of the house, went up on the roof, inspected our skylights and entire roof, and checked out the chimney. He went over his findings with me, and indicated that this was an inspection/assessment, not an estimate. He did not find any evidence of animals inside our living spaces, but he did see evidence of squirrels and possibly mice in the attic. He said he would convey the results of his inspection and assessment to the estimator(s) at Adcock's and then they would send out a formal estimate for exclusion services to us via mail. He took the time to explain what service options would likely be proposed, and explained what their exclusion service would consist of. The technician then asked if I wanted to have traps set when he left, but I really didn't want that. He agreed that I didn't need them, but if I'd really wanted traps set, he'd do it. I have to say, I was impressed with Don. As the technician had described to me, we received a written estimate for exclusion services from Adcock's in the mail a few days later, and we have now scheduled the service. They are scheduled to come out this Wednesday, December 19. We will post a follow up later.
Description of Work: Emergency/Weekend animal removal from inside the house was performed, as well as home inspection (inside, outside, attic, roof, roof line, chimney), to determine potential points of entry for animals. The assessment was given to the estimators at Adcock's, who mailed us a formal estimate for services later. We scheduled extermination/exclusion services which will be done next week.

Overall, I think our problem is solved. A huge thanks to the real workers and a thumbs down to the phone staff and estimator. When people call with problems, the expectation is that the problem will be fixed when a company comes out to do the work. They needed to be honest and tell me that I would be wasting $175 and not getting a solution for a week. YUCK!!!
Description of Work: We found mouse dropping in our laundry room and called the top rated companies from Angie's list. I asked the same questions for the few places I called and Adcocks could come out the soonest (it was right before Thanksgiving so this was a plus). The person on the phone gave me the approximate price saying they couldn't tell me the exact price until they saw my house. The approximate price was $250 for coming and plugging the holes where the mice are coming in but if it took more than an hour, they had an hourly rate charge. She estimated that for a townhouse, it takes between 1 and 2 hours. Perfect. Adcocks came to the house but did not do anything to plug the holes and stop the mice from coming in. He said the person on the phone was wrong and shouldn't have said anything and charged me $175 for this. He did lay out traps and looked around my house but didn't do anything to fix my problem. The original price for this useless service is $225 but Angle's list gets $25 off and he took another $25 off because of my unhappiness that nothing was being done to solve my problem. If I rated the phone call and 1st visit, I would give a D or F since the information given was wrong and the 1st visit was a huge waste of money. In addition to getting the wrong info on the phone, I was also not told that we needed to move everything away from the walls in the garage. Some retraining of phone staff really needs to take place. I do know why Adcocks is rated so high, however. The two men who came to do the real work are fantastic. They came in, went around my house and found ALL the problems, fixed them, and were just amazing. I would recommend Adcocks but with the suggestion that you skip the first guy completely and just schedule the actual work to be done. The "estimate" is a waste of time because the real workers went around the house and found all the holes themselves. I do not know why they are sending the estimator out.

Overall the professionalism and punctuality were good, but the pricing for the services and "repairs" aren't worth it.
Description of Work: I called Addocks because I heard noise in the addict. Thankfully there was no evidence of critters up there. However, the inspection in the rest of the house revealed mice (not surprising I live next to the woods). The technician came back out again for "mice inspections" where as he just walked around the house and that was an additional $200 plus dollars. I went ahead and got the recommended repairs (caulking and sealing small spaces near the utility cables, pvc pipe, and under the bay window) done which were about another $400. The problem still continues, but thankfully my good friend showed me the $10 product they used and other cheaper mitigating methods, like $2 pipe caps and screens.

I have had mouse issues on and off for 12 years. I finally got fed up with my pest control company, which told me you cannot keep mice out; you can only control them so you do not hear them and they do not bother you. I wanted someone to help me figure out how they were getting in in the first place and to fix it for me. After a little research, I called Adcock's. When their technician could not identify any problems at the ground level, he started looking at the roofline. He found three entry points on the roof near the chimney. The mice had been climbing the outside of the chimney to reach the roof. He also found two bats in a soffit. Repairs were made to seal off the entry points and to screen off the soffit. It is wonderful to be able to sleep through the night without waking to the sound of scratching in the walls and ceiling. Note that I gave a B for quality because they came back a second time to redo some of the original repair. The repair had held, but it was not done to the level that they would feel comfortable warranting it or five years. I applaud them for their honesty about the repair and for making it right.

Service was excellent, thorough, and timely. My call was responded to immediately, folks were on time, provided super updates, coordinated times around SuperStorm Sandy, et cetera. The price was a bit more than I'd wanted to spend on the repair component, but talk about convenient -- I didn't have to hire two different companies to trap the squirrels and then repair what was necessary, so the value was definitely high. Would use Adcock's again, but hope I don't have to! That said, the other critters I've seen around my neighborhood are possums and raccoons... yuck.

It started a typical Saturday afternoon. We were about to leave when we heard a scratching noise coming from the vent fan in our hall bathroom. After the scratching kept starting and stopping randomly, we figured we had an animal in the fan. We called several places and Adcocks was the only one actually answered the phone on a Saturday. After explaining their services and fees, they paged their removal person and he showed up within the next hour. Bob was very nice and took his time when it came to removing the vent and getting the bird out of the vent. The bird did manage to get free from the bathroom and was flying around the house, but Bob was able to catch the bird and released the bird outside. After that, he went around my house, my roof, and into my attic to inspect all my vents and exhausts ports. In the end, he did not make any repairs, but he did recommend some improvements (wrote up an estimate too). All in all, an excellent and stress free process. Thanks again!
Description of Work: Removal of bird from bathroom vent fan. Inspected exhaust ports around the house and on the roof.
