The malfunction occurred on a Tuesday night. I called Overhead doors at 8am on Wednesday and was immediately called back by their servicing department. By noon, all three doors were functioning better than new. I have never heard the doors move up and down so silently. The technician lubricated all appropriate parts and adjusted the cable tensions. I wish we had done this years ago. This service will prolong the life of the springs on my other two garage doors.

Garage door would not close. I called Overhead because they installed the door. Repairman came within two hours of my call, lubricated the door, straightened the laser beam (which he said was causing my problem) and checked the sensors in the motor. The repairman was very friendly, but talked too much and charged me for every second. They also charge a mileage fee from where ever they happen to be to your house. After the repair was completed the repairman spent at least 15 minutes in his truck writing up the invoice, again charging me for his time. I requested, but didn't receive a detailed estimate of the charges. When I commented on the high cost, he said it was because they charge mileage.

I would not recommend them. They had horrible service, and they were over priced. They came to repair my garage door, and after they were finished with the job it still worked them same when they left.

They were good. They came and gave an estimate. They came back to fix the problem and they did a great job. They honored a coupon as well and the cost was what they had stated before repair.

They were great. We have used them twice. They are an excellent service provider to have on Angie's List. I am really happy. They are fair. In 4 months, my boys closed the garage doors, and they didn't clear things that were on the way. One side ended up going down and the other side did not, it was stuck that includes the car inside the garage. I got a discount with the coupon. Their techs are professional, knowledgeable and clean. They don't leave anything behind. I had two different techs come out in two different occasions, and each one of them was polished.

I was very impressed with the person who gave us an estimate. He was much more thorough then the other company we talked to. He really looked at our garage and how it was set up. He noticed the poor installation job of the previous door and recommended new wood to support the door. This would have had to to be done but he was the only one to notice it. The installation was incredibly thorough. They did make a mistake and put the window segment in the wrong place. We were okay with just moving it but the holes would have been visable on the inside of the garage and this was not acceptable to the company. So they kept it as is, ordered us a new panel and came back and installed it correctly with no extra charge.

The sales man was knowledgable & friendly. The installer did a good job & explained the features. He forgot to install a handle, but the co sent him back within two days. The door looks good & works well. They fulfilled my expectations.

I thought they were good and they gave a good quote. They were able to provide a structure for the door, not just the door itself, which was pretty hard to find.

The service guys worked fast and did a good job. The only thing to know is that they start chraging you for their hourly rate from the time they leave their last job to get to your house. That said, the guy wasted no time and worked quickly to keep the overall labor charge down. The window for the appointment was a bit broad (10 - 3).

Overhead Door installed a garage door for me at the end of my driveway, leading out to the alley. When I called, the salesman came out on time, gave me an estimate that matched the actual charges, and ordered the door promptly. He told me when it would be instqlled, and then installed it on time. This made my backyard much safer, as people had been entering my backyard at night. The old garage door had been removed, but the structure remained, making it hard to drive in and out. The salesman recommended a local constuction guy who tore down the old structure and built the necessary new structure. Overhead Door worked closely with the contractor to make sure the new stucture was right, and when there was a question, Overhead Door made sure it was resolved with no additional charge to me. The Angie's List coupon saved me $150, which was another good thing. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience.

Overhead Door was great. The sales representative was extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and he seemed to know exactly what kind of product would suit us. He was anything but pushy - I even asked about some of the more expensive products, and he said he would tell me about that if I really wanted, but he thought the standard product was good for us. We did look at some of the more expensive products, and he was right - those were not for us. They scheduled us in less than two weeks. They gave a half-hour window for arrival and showed up exactly in the middle of that. The job was finished two hours earlier than expected, and everything works great, looks great, and sounds great - the new motor is very quiet. The installer cleaned up after he was done. FOLLOW-UP: Two months after installation, the outside keypad stopped working correctly; I replaced the battery, and it still only worked intermittently. They sent someone out and replaced it (no charge because it was under warranty), no questions asked. I highly recommend this company. Even though I'm a do-it-yourself type, I'm so glad we got this done, in and out in one day, and now we have a quiet, insulated, efficient door that we are very happy with.

"Vince" arrived early in the block of time I was given (about 10:30am in 10a-3p window). He diagnosed the problem quickly (dead circuit board) and had all the parts he needed with him. Repair was made quickly. Vince then proceeded to service the door (cleaning and lube; tightening of the chain) and the door is working beautifully--even more quiet than when first installed! He reprogrammed my remote to the new circuit board and instructed me in the "lockout" feature (being able to temporarily disable the remote opener) that in 5 years, I didn't even realize I had. My 15-year old lift motor is working like new! Based on this experience, it will be worth it to have Overhead Door come out for annual service on my door and lift mechanism.

The 9-foot, metal, insulated door and its associated Genie system were installed by the contractor who enclosed our home's carport (turning it into a 1-car attached garage) in mid-2008. Over time, we'd had to call the contractor back to take care of the door binding on its rails, occasional loose bolts falling out, and other general symptoms that made me uneasy about using the door. I'd had occasion in the past to call on Overhead Door in a commercial application and had always been pleased with their response, knowledge, work quality, etc. This time, I decided to check Angie's List and was not surprised to find Overhead Door's excellent ratings and reviews. Their office is 10 minutes away, so I called them on 7/22, scheduling an appointment for 7/27 to have the whole door assembly/mechanism checked out properly. They actually would have come out the very next day, but my own schedule didn't allow for that. Yesterday morning at 8, as scheduled, their technician, Brandon, showed up and proceeded to take a very close look at the door installation. He explained various things he found wrong, and suggested corrections. He was able to perform some of those on the spot; others required some additional minor parts, which he said he'd get from the shop and return this morning, same time, same station, to finish the corrections/adjustments/additions. Brandon appeared as promised this morning, did the various jobs required, explaining the purpose of each as he went. It was very obvious that he knew his stuff, and was intimately familiar with the complexities involved in getting an automatic garage door to open and close properly. Like many things in life, it is not as simple as it looks. He triple-checked the operation of the door, answered a couple of questions for me, lubricated everything that needed it, and overall left me with a solid feeling that everything was in good order, and my car would not be subject to falling nuts and bolts (or worse). The price for the two visits, the work done, and the additional parts was very reasonable. More importantly, I'm confident that the work was done professionally and correctly. I'd strongly recommend that anyone considering installing a garage door opener system as a DIY project think again (and check credentials if someone else will be doing the install). I'd also recommend using the services of Overhead Door Co. either for installation or for later service when needed. They are pros in their field.

We have a single large spring on our two-car garage door that snapped with a bang on a holiday weekend. Luckily, it happened while one of the cars was out of the garage so we were not in need of emergency service. I was able to schedule an appointment at my convenience. The technician arrived on time and replaced the broken spring quickly. He also lubricated the rollers and checked the track alignment. He was very polite and cleaned up after himself.

The repair man explained in detail the repairs needed to fix the door, make it safe and bring it up to code. He explained the fees ahead of time and completed the work quickly and cleaned up afterwards. Very polite.

Although the whole repair experience was very satisfactory and we so appreciate that someone could come and fix our garage door emergency on a Sunday, we thought the price we were charged was a bit excessive compared to some of the estimates we later received from similar local companies that provide the same type of repairs.

I e-mailed them late one night and had them call me the next morning for service that day. No surprises...the representative explained the charges up front and gave me a four hour window. The serviceman who came was punctual, efficient, professional and thorough in his work. Now my garage door works better than when I first bought the house! Won't hesitate to use again for repair or installation.

They came out exactly when I asked them to. They were early, efficient, and knowledgeable. I used the Northern Virginia Branch as I live in Alexandria. I used them 3 years ago and had the same experience. I would recommend them to anyone.
