Angie's List had to locate a different painter who was in the area. Although communication was a slight problem the contractor got back to me promptly and we negotiated a time for an estimate and the date for painting. They were very accommodating. They said they would arrive at 1 pm, they were on time and did a professional job.

Mr. Gomez's crew did impeccable work. They had to chip out the old, spalled brick and work new brick into it. The new bricks did not precisely match the old brick, but that is of little consequence since the areas involved are hidden from view. It may be that time will age the facings to match. In addition, I cannot see exactly where they repointed the rest of the bricks, meaning they did a terrific job matching the concrete.

Mr. Gomez was very difficult to work with. After purchasing the Big Deal ($125 for 4 hours of plaster/drywall repair or 1 room of paint), I emailed to get an appointment. He ignored the dates I said I had available, so we had to back and forth a few times before he scheduled me in at a time when we'd be home. He gave me an hour's window for his possible arrival, and when that hour was up, I had to both call and email to find out if he was going to show up. When he arrived, he had no explanation for not coming in the hour time slot he'd given. He looked at the wall, we agreed on how extensive the separation was, he told me he'd send two guys, that we'd need 1/2 inch drywall, and that his guys would bring the joint compound (included in the price of the coupon). I showed him the joint compound we already had, as well as stating we'd have the drywall, we agreed he'd email me about scheduling the actual job, and he left. A full week later I emailed him to ask if he intended to schedule our job, giving him the days and times of our availability for scheduling; again, he completely ignored our availability. We finally worked out a date, and his email stated that he'd send two guys and that "I will send two men for two hours if they need more time for finish for each person is $90.00 by hour." The coupon states that the price is good for 4 consecutive man hours, and as it wasn't more than a four-hour job, I didn't think it was an issue. Buyer beware: apparently 4 man hours means ONE MAN. Angie's List and/or the Big Deal coupon is not clear about this, which is very frustrating. The two men showed up today, within the hour window Mr. Gomez had given for arrival and were very polite and professional. They did a great job. Unfortunately, they used half the drywall we had on hand, and refused to use our joint compound, and then after talking to Mr. Gomez on the phone, charged me for an entire sheet of drywall and joint compound, as well as telling me I owed $180 in cash for the extra guy. I speak Spanish, and the guy who talked to Mr. Gomez asked if he was sure he needed to charge me for extra time! I then double-checked the coupon for the hour limit (they started at 8:35 and were done at 12:15), and was so taken aback by the additional charges and the phone conversation I heard that I paid for the drywall and joint compound. As I couldn't make sense of the four hour/two hour/extra man thing, I have not paid the extra $180 that Mr. Gomez wants to charge for the work. I did tell him I would call AL to try to figure out what happened with the coupon; it seems that with the extra man charge and the charge for the materials that were supposedly included, he'll get close to the full price that was quoted in the Big Deal ($360). I am really happy with the work, but very unhappy with my Big Deal experience and Mr. Gomez,

The workers came on time, performed the service to my satisfaction, and cleaned up. Great job!

My husband took off work the day they were scheduled to come. They called and cancelled. They have never rescheduled. Not a good deal.

Kept trying to turn it into a bigger job. I just wanted him to fix a couple bricks on my front step and he said he couldn't do it. He wanted to redo the entire thing for $1000. Was clearly just trying to make more money.

We just wanted to fix a couple bricks. It felt like he just wanted to sell us on bigger services. It took a while, probably a couple weeks to send his crew. The quality of the work was fine.

The company was completely unresponsive and it made me very skeptical about Angie's Specials.

GO Contracting did not perform any services, just an estimate and that was outrageous.

They advertised a $99 special, we signed up and charged it and despite multiple efforts never heard from the company.

I purchased a deal through one of Angie's periodic offers. I had GO come out for an estimate, which seemed reasonable. My issue was I never received a written estimate so I could tell what was included. I had them come out a second time, and did receive more details. I decided to not use them at the time, but I did find the owner to be friendly and responsive. Next time provide a written estimate and I would probably buy the service.

We had a positive experience with them. I don’t really have a point of comparison; it’s the first time I ever hired a mason. But the price seemed reasonable, and they performed the work as described. Like all contractors, there is sometimes real trouble keeping appointments on time. They are friendly, professional and the work gets done. So I would recommend them.

shortly after i phoned them they did come to house to examine the work area i needed their services for.i was told someone would be contacting me within two weeks, but no one called or came.finally, after nearly two months, i began calling them with no response.then i called Angie to explain the problem. they told me that they would call the contractor and try to get them to contact me.i did not hear from them for nearly two more weeks.they finally came out to do the work.i was not satisfied with the work they did do. and i would advise others not to use them.

The experience was positive. The work crew was professional and handled the job expertly. I will definitely use the company and highly recommend them.

We purchased $99 coupon on Angie's List. Mr. Gomez contacted us within 48 hours and scheduled appointment to look at the job. He was on time for the estimate appointment. We went over the job together and he prepared estimate and set schedule for the work. There appointment for work was re-schedule one-time due to weather. We we very satisfied with the job. Mr Gomez did not request any payment until work was completed, he communicated well and was reliable.

It didn't happen. Contacted vendor who assured me that my home was in his service area. Let vendor know that the jobs I needed done were pretty minor (patch crack on front porch and address separated steps on rear of garage). Tried to schedule an appointment on at least 2 occasions. I have emails that show all of this. In short, nothing ever happened. Need to look into getting my money back.

The job was done very well. Very courteous team. My front walk and steps look great. Recommend that you call well in advance -- they apparently stay pretty busy which is not surprising.

We hired this contractor to repair the top of our chimney which had cracked mortar. They did a good job. The only issue we had was that we did not hear back from them in a timely fashion after we had the estimate to schedule an actual work date. However, that was a minor issue. We were pleased with the work they had done

The work was done and it was fine. I was a bit disappointed in the length of time it took to get onto the schedule. I thought my first appointment was to do the work. It was just for an estimate. It was several more weeks until I was scheduled and it took many phone calls and follow-ups. Then their truck broke down and I had to be rescheduled. When the workers finally came, the work they did was good - good, not great. But, for the price, I absolutely cannot complain.

The owner came and gave me an estimate for the work but they have not returned to do the work yet. They seem knowledgable and capable and I hope they return to finish the work as promised.

We originally responded to an Angie's List Deal for Masonry work. We have a 60 year old driveway stone retaining wall which was bulging and falling apart due to water runoff. Nestor came out and gave us an estimate which was reasonable for the work to be performed. His company actually came out earlier than scheduled and did a fantastic job on the wall. They also installed drainage pipes to alleviate the water runoff. When the project was finished G.O. Contractors cleaned the driveway so well you couldn't tell they were ever there. We highly recommend G.O Contractors and will definitely use them in the future. Thank you Nestor and crew!
