Then called to see if it could be picked up early as the contractor job did not work out. I didn't expect the unit to get picked up so quickly. Went well beyond expectations. Really appreciate the level of professionalism and promptness.
The toilet was never serviced. I am not sure what the policy is on how often to service, but my opinion is that they are stretched thin covering all of Massachusetts and should make their service area small.
My contractor called in for the dumpster, excess materials, and The Throne Depot toilet to be picked up all on the same day (late so nothing was going to be picked up that day). The dumpster was gone the next day and that was great. The excess materials were not going to be gone the next day because the company was doing inventory and would pick it up the day after, which they did. That left the lone Throne Depot toilet. I waited 2 additional days after everything else was gone before complaining. It is a huge ORANGE eyesore with BIG THE THRONE DEPOT written all over it. If it was just gray and didn't stand out like a sore thumb I wouldn't even worry about it. But, it makes my house look like the plumbing is broken or something and is very distasteful in color. I wanted it gone with the rest of the stuff, so I called the company. They basically said that they only service the are on one or two days (which are back to back) a week. They went on to say that they would be there in a day or two.
My opinion of that is that it is total garbage! The dumpster and excess materials take WAY more coordination and time for removal. The dumpster driver has to drop the empty or drive empty to pick up the dumpster, but he made it the very next day. The materials company has to coordinate to have a fairly empty truck pick up the excess materials in between other deliveries and uses a Moffit fork lift. The Throne Depot has no excuse.
Lastly, I want to mention how inappropriate the name on these toilets are! The Throne Depot plastered on every side of a toilet on my property with its awful ORANGE flashing everyone is not going to make people rent these units. To the contrary, normal businesses and homeowners are going to shy away because they do not need everyone in the whole town knowing that they are going to the bathroom outside for whatever reason. It is just not appropriate!
Do use these guys and make sure to tell your friends not to use them. They need to rename the company to something more professional. We know you handle the outdoor toilet business, just name your company Portable Bathrooms or something.
WEEK 2: The following week, we began living on site, and Throne Depot completely skipped our location. No service. I left three voicemails requesting a callback, and did not get a response until my husband called a 4th time. By then, it was already Tuesday of the following week, so we were told they would get us the following day.
WEEK 3: They came out Thursday to service the unit, and left the hand sanitizer empty. One of the toilet paper rolls (there are three in the unit) was empty and was not refilled.
WEEK 4: We met the gentlemen when he serviced the unit and complained about the sanitizer. He refilled the unit, and left us a new refill. What we didn't realize until after he left was that two of the toilet paper rolls were now empty. He was also out on Thursday, so not sure what happened to our Wednesday service schedule. I called and complained about the last three weeks of bad service, and was told that they would credit me for the missed week, after they verified that we had truly been missed (their trucks are evidentially GPS tracked). The vendor later called me to tell me that my credit card was not going through (because I had changed my billing address by now), and wanted new card information. I had to ask him -- what happened to our credit? I was told it had already been issued, but saw this week that the new month was charged for a week less (which is fine).
WEEK 5: Wednesday came and went and the toilet paper has been empty for five days. We've been using tissues, which is not making the 15 year girl living here very happy. Unit really needs to be emptied. Called Thursday afternoon as no one had yet showed to service the unit. Was told that it was Halloween, so the family-owned company had allowed it's employees to enjoy the day with their families. Was told that they would be out the following day (Friday) to service the port-a-potty. I was a little peeved that we were not notified. Today is now Friday, its almost 4pm, and we just called to ask them where they are. We were told there was a "dispatch mix-up" and they would not be out until tomorrow, Saturday. We will see.
So, out of 5 weeks, the only week they got things right was the week we weren't using the unit. Coincidence?
We are very unhappy with them. I wish I had not given them the benefit of the doubt and renewed with them for another month. Our septic system is due to be in soon, and I cannot wait - these guys can't get anything right!
