The refrigerator is now properly cooling down, so they did the job right the first time. We would likely use them again if the need arises and they are available to come in a timely fashion.

I put a sneaker in the dryer with a down coat to fluff up the down, but the sneaker got stuck and prevented the drum from turning, which burned out the drive. I called Same Day Service and asked for a tech for the following morning. They gave me a 3-hour window. Ben called 45 minutes before he came, and arrived within 15 minutes of when he said he would. Examined it, gave me a quote, replaced the drive assembly from parts in his truck, vacuumed out the lint, and was done 45 minutes later. And, with my 10% off Angie's List coupon, it came in under $200. Very easy and low-stress. I especially appreciated not being held hostage all day waiting for a repair person to come!

I knew something was up when I heard a grinding noise coming from the back of the refrigerator. The next day my mother in law noticed the center divider of our side by side refrigerator was too hot to touch. I looked up the issue online and all the experts said the problem was with a failed condenser cooling fan. I had been using another repair place, but I wasn't happy with them. They misdiagnosed some problems in the past and I ended up with higher than expected repair costs. So I went to Angie's List and found Same Day Service. I called that evening (Sunday) and they scheduled an appointment for the next day. They have this nice service they phone you 30 minutes prior to their arrival giving you time to get home to meet them. They called at 5PM and was there by 5:15PM. The technician was very professional and did a complete diagnosis prior to informing me that the condenser fan had failed. He then proceeded to complete clean out the bottom of the unit and replace the fan. This refrigerator has been problematic, so I took him up on his offer for a $50 yearly service plan. I don't usually believe in these plans, but I have little faith in the reliability of my Kitchenaid appliances.

They came the next day with a part that we had needed to fix the problem.

The man was very prompt in coming. He was polite, courteous and professional. I called Friday, and they would have sent someone out that day, but I had an appt., so they scheduled me for Saturday. The man came and figured out the problem, fixed part of the problem that day, and had to order a part to finish the job, and came back a few days later with the new part to finish it. I found the price reasonable and fair. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again.

One day during the spin cycle, my 15 year old washing machine suddenly started making the sound of a jack hammer. After researching new machines and finding that almost none of them fit in my laundry closet and the new machines have poor reviews for reliability by consumers, I decided to repair my machine. I found Same Day Service on Angie's List. I called them Friday morning and arranged for them to come after 1PM the same day. The repairman called at 12:55 to say he was on the way. He showed up in about 20 minutes. He diagnosed the problem quickly, gave me a price, got the part from his truck, told me the history of how this part has been redesigned and improved over the past 15 years, installed it, and tested the machine. He was done in less than an hour, and the machine seems to work perfectly now.

the dishwasher stop working The serviceman came out at the stated time he was prompt, & courteous He diagnosied the problem and explained what needed to be done. He ordered the part and returned the on the day and time he said it would. He replaced the motor and cleaned up the mess. We did get a service contract with the company I definetly would refer them to friends

I got a maintenance contract for future work. Did everything they said they would and overall, good service experience.

The overall experience was great. I called and set up the appointment and Same Day accommodated me when I wanted them to be there. I received a confirmation call the night before and the technician called me about 1/2 hour before he arrived. He was prompt and arrived within the time period they promised. The technician was polite and very thorough, he explained the repair and the process to me and provided an estimate. He said the job should take approximately 1 hour. The job ended up being more complex than originally thought and it took 2 hours to complete, but the cost stayed the same, which I was very impressed with.

After finding them in Angie's List, I called Same Day Service when my washing machine (an 8 year old GE front loader) started making banging noises in the spin cycle. The person who took the call was very professional and set up an appointment the same day, asking for my cell number in case I'd be out of the house, and telling me the fee, which would be $79 for a visit, to be waived if they did the repair, and that I'd get a 10% discount. I got a call within an hour from a service tech, who told me that GE's of that vintage had problems, and asked me what the noise sounded like. I described it, and he said that it was likely a loose drum that would require a very expensive repair--probably close to what a new washer would cost. So I thanked him, and decided to buy a new washing machine instead. I was very impressed that he diagnosed the problem over the phone, when he could have simply arrived at collected a visit fee. That was very professional, and I will definitely use them again.

I called Same Day Service Co. this morning, explained the problem with my washer, and was told that a service man would be at my house sometime today. I was also told that the service man would call a bit before he would arrive. Around 2.10 PM, Jeff called and said he'd be at my house in 15 minutes. At about 2.30 PM he arrived, I explained what happened with my washer, and he checked it out. I checked in with Jeff a few minutes later and he told me that the pump needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price to install the pump--which was what I was finally charged--and he finished the job about 40 minutes later. He also replaced the belt on my washer for no charge. As an Angie's List member, I received a 10% discount on the repair. He also provided information on how to clean my dryer vent. Jeff was very professional , courteous and most helpful.

See above - my only negative is the price, I felt, was a bit steep. For another 500.00 I could have bought a whole new fridge (and a decent sized one). Positives: Responsiveness both in returning my phone call / coming out same day; technicians ability, and having part on hand. Negatives - the cost. Overall, positives outweighed the negatives as I got my fridge repaired in a short amount of time, reducing food waste.

Prompt service, addressed the issue quickly, had the necessary parts, and the fix worked!

This company was fantastic. They took the time to confirm they serviced my brand of washer/dryer combo over the phone before sending the technician. The technician called in advance of when he was arriving asking me if that time was ok and was even early which was awesome. My brand of washer/dryer combo is a ventless Evaporative dryer which can lead to internal lint build up that I can't get to myself to remove. The technician was able to take everything apart, remove all the backed up lint and get the heating temperature back up to what it should be. The service from start to finish was professional and completely solved the problem!

They were excellent, they came when they said they would, and their price was just what they quoted. I found them to be very good. The service technician, Ben, was super! Jeff had been my refrigerator service technician, and he was great as well. I would use them again.

Mike is a credit to his company. He determined and diagnosed the problem very fast. He had the proper equipment on his truck and was very competent in his work. He told me about a problem that might come and took care of that too so I wouldn't have to deal with it later down the line. He saved us from having a flooding issue in the future. It's hard to find service like this. He was right on time with our appointment as well. He was worth every penny!

Requested an appointment via company website describing make and model and problems on Sunday. I was called back Monday morning and an appointment was scheduled for that day. The cost for the service visit and its application to the repairs were explained in that call. The technicians came at a convenient time and one was training the other who although experienced, had not worked on my type of refrigerator before. I was able to participate in their discussions so I learned a lot. Mike, the trainer was quick to offer helpful suggestions to his trainee so I don't think the repair took any longer than it would have if he was doing it alone. Mike was able to get the needed parts from the truck while the other was working so it probably worked out to be the same time as it might have taken, plus I learned a lot. After assessing the problems with the refrigerator based on my discussion and their examination they came up with a written estimate which they explained and answered my questions. They explained that they had most of the parts on their truck and performed the bulk of the work right then. There was one part that they had to order which they did right then and told me that it would come in that Thur or Fri and I would be called to schedule the brief additional repair. I was amazed that they had most of the parts for a 23 year old refrigerator right there. I was called the next day to inform me that the remaining part was in and the additional work was scheduled for the next day. Mike arrived promptly and did the additional work in less than 30 minutes including checking on the work they had done on Monday.

Quite happy with service. Obviously news that we needed to replace rather than repair refrigerator was not welcomed news. However, he presented us with a thorough description of his findings of his in-depth evaluation of the unit, enabling us to make a decision. Prior to leaving did some minor repairs for no cost on our range. Overall great, highly recommended.

Went very well. We were able to schedule an appointment soon after we called. The service person (Jeff, I believe) was punctual, professional, and pleasant, and not only made the needed repairs, but also gave an overview to help us better understand the way the appliance worked. Although he was contracted to work on the dishwasher only, I described a problem with our washing machine, and he tightened some screws to rectify that problem, without charge. I will continue to use this company whenever appliance problems arise.

The company responded promptly to my call.They dispactched a technician who made an initial assessment.The technician kept the appointment and repaired the defect.We are satified with the work he did.

I had a squeaky dryer that needed to be fixed. Filled out a web form and got a phone call 2 hours later to set up an appointment for the same day. The technician showed up 10 minutes before 5 (the person on the phone had mentioned their work day ends at 5), so it was clear that he would not be able to do the repair anymore. Instead of providing a quote for the dryer repair as had been promised, the tech right away pointed to the dryer exhaust and stated that it would need to be replaced. He frowned at the fact that the current exhaust had been installed through a hole in the ceiling. I explained that this exhaust had been (a) installed by the plumber who installed the dryer, and (b) been properly inspected by the town inspector after installation. At installation time, the plumber had pointed out that the previously used exhaust tubing (white plastic going into the wall) posed a fire hazard, and could not be used, so he installed metal foil tubing, making a new hole in the ceiling to connect to the existing exhaust cover. The tech seemed uninterested in these details, and stated that the company would not allow him to repair the dryer if I did not agree to also replace the exhaust. At the same time, he did not seem to know what to do about the exhaust since it went into a hole in the ceiling. He then filled out a "service invoice" for $79.95, even though he neither repaired anything, nor provided the promised quote for the repair. This seems like a scam to quickly rack up another $80 invoice in the last 10 minutes of the work day. On his way out, he then stated that the exhaust pipe replacement would have been free, but he still did not seem to know how he would have replaced it. I picked this company because it advertised high Angie's List ratings on its web site. After many positive experiences in the past, this was a big disappointment. The technician did not seem to be interested in fixing the problem, his main interest seemed to be to get out of the house, leaving a $80 invoice behind. At first glance, it is hard to understand why he was puzzled about replacing the exhaust, too. With about 5 minutes of web research afterwards, I found online suppliers for flexible metal exhaust tubing that could be used to replace the existing foil, at a cost of $20. Looking at the material he left behind, it seems to be his company's policy to only use rigid venting. The material even states that rigid venting is "manufacturer required", which is not true: the installations instructions for the dryer state "use only rigid or flexible metal duct". Overall, a very disappointing experience. I will certainly stay away from any "Same Day Service" company in the future.
